I just have to post and say I agree with this. There is no real point in fighting people in first person shooters, because there is no loss/gain except perhaps some score on a ranking list. Its the excitement of putting your stuff on the line that makes Eve pvp so much fun, and the fact that both you and the opponent are taking real risks.
Please.
All my experience in PVP is "Oh **** gate camp"... Too late. I have lost 4 cruiseres and 1 BC because of this, and trust me the campers were in NO DANGER OF LOOSEING ANYTHING. (Ofcourse that has been my experience in all MMOs that have PvP. Most PvPers never enter a fight that they have a chance of looseing.) Then they Pod you. Wow your a BAD DUDE, you can kill a pod with a BS. Stupid. If you like PVP great, I want to PVP as well one day. Only I want it to be fun, (to me fun means challengeing), not: Warp, Lock, Scramble, Pop.
One I did not get mad about, was getting killed rat hunting in low sec. Lost a cruiser, did not get podded. To a BC with takler. If I had reacted quicker, (read: been paying attention.) I may have survived the encounter, or atleast took one of them with me. Chatted with the guy about it. (Not the usualy "You SOB, you killed my ship!!" rant,) I think the strongest thing I said to him was "Man that was not very nice, I just bought this ship."

I'm sure this has happened to others; you join a corp under the impression that these people enjoy the same things in EVE that you do, then you find out that's not the case at all. So you leave, and look for another corp that meets your needs. The recruiter for whatever corp it is tells you that they're exactly what you're looking for, then the same thing happens again. Repeat ad nauseum.
Frankly, I'm tired of it. Am I really that different that I can't find a corp that matches my needs down the line?
I like: *PvP *Flying battleships and other heavy hitters *Short-range fights *Logging on and having targets to shoot at *Corpmates who are cool and enjoy having fun *Flying with friends *Small gang combat
I hate: *Flying frigates (all types) *Flying T1 cruisers *Wolfpacks in general *Vagabond prices (lol) *Fleet combat *POS warfare *Logging on and not being able to PvP *Logging on and having no one to fly with *Not having anything to shoot except for tech 1 frigs and cruisers *Not being allowed to shoot neutrals in 0.0 *Not being allowed to shoot pirates anywhere *Corpmates who are intolerant of others' failings
So, anyone else out there ever run into this problem, or is it just me?
Me and my answer....ERADICATION!!!! wray lol cmon dude lol i get what your saying i love bs's but i also like to have as much fuin as possible and to me buddy a kills a kill regardless of what your in. :) but hey we have our wants and needs.

I wish I could get PVP everytime logged on to mate, but we both know that will never be. There is no such things as a perfect corp, your best option is to find one that offers as mh as is possible to your style. weirda for instance has ours as a laid back do as you please corp which suits me to a tee, but that is not everyones idea of a corp.
I wish you luck on finding a good home mate. -----------------------------------------------

These things are mutually exclusive in EVE, thanks to 99% of people being **** scared of ever coming close to loosing a ship.

Being at work and a little 'bored' with REAL LIFE...darn no pew pew there either. shucks...I decided to toss my opinion on the heap.
Reading what you are "like" vs. "don't like"....the only thing that comes to my mind is: "Go play counterstrike".
Seriously. EVE is about MORE than you 'pew-pewing'. If that's what you love, then YOU start a corp, gather some like minded folks and GO DO IT. Other wise this is just a 'woe is me thread'.
Hell even the MC do things OTHER than fight. Its a virtual world here, not a quakefest. You want that, good luck to you.
As for some corps being deceptive in their recruiting practices? Color me completely surprised. not.
But all or most of em'? Most corps try to accomodate multiple aspirations and goals. They are building, manufacturing, fighting, etc. Its not all about YOU and your desire to go blow stuff up.
Hate to say it, but no sympathy whatsoever from this corner.
Good arse reply!
To the OP, you sound like you need to join a pirate corp and pound your shest all day about flying big ships. I like small ships and fly them especially the T2 type.

Start you own corp. Then see how easy / difficult it is to to recruit peeps with your aspirations. But you may end up a one man corp.

The issuue is that the OP already knows that anyone he joins will not fit his plan. No corp can. Its not the players fault its mechanics of the game.
I hope when Factional warfare is in PVP and killing everyone will be the norm.
I understand from what I hear standings will finally come in after 3 years.
That you cant go into an constellation if your standings are not met. Pirate factions wont let you dock unless you have good standings in 0.0 NPC be warned.. We will become a regional game like CCP has dreamed of.
OP you are right that your game does not exist but CCP is working on it and will be here.
Warning: from what I gather standings to a faction will matter more than ever. Maybe you wont be docking any time soon.

Although I hate pimpin' my enemies, and this is not a recruitment thread, I know exactly what you are talking about. There is always "that's us", but in actuality it more like what "that's what we wish we were." Also, I know it may require brandishing those balls you claim to have, but 0utbreak fits that bill to a T.
For some reason the fact that ~50% of the people replying to the thread fail to read and understand the point of the OP is hilarious. |

Hardly. My complaint about shooting T1 frigs and cruisers is that you inflict no real loss on your opponent when you do so. It's as simple as that. It's not an accomplishment.
If your opponent can only afford Frigs or cruisers the it indeed would be a loss to them.

I would also like to log in at any time and be able to do some Battleship PVP, however, unless you are filthy rich (ISK buyer or T2 BPO holder), each person will have some downtime (used to make ISK, produce, haul or whatever), making it pretty hard for any small to med-sized corp to have that kind of PVP 23/7.
Judging from your 'wish-list' I would strongly suggest joining or making a Pirate corp, then at least you have the continuos PVP part sorted.

I think what you want isn't really possible in eve. Or at least unlikely.
PVP anytime you want it, on terms that are actually fun is basicly non-existant.
This is my single biggest problem with this game right now.
good luck, let me know if you find it. ___________________________________________ The deeper you stick it in your vein, the deeper the thoughts there's no more pain. ___________________________________________

The only way you could get half of your wishes, would be to go where the wars are and attack everyone involved. Would require a lot of travel time, but if you go where active wars are raging, you should find targets.
Honestly, Wrayeth, you know EVE better than this. It's not about instant gratification, log on and gank. You get that in WoW, in safe, controlled, instanced battle grounds.

I disagree as the risk of losing your ship+fitting is tied directly to how much Isk you have and if your corp supplies your combat vessels.
There is not one level of risk for all.

i have several friends currently ping ponging corps, they start out as "the right corp" but it quickly degrades as the real purpose of the corp becomes clear.
best bet is to spend a while on the forum recruitment threads and the ingame recruitment channel, lot of work but to find all your looking for, you will have to. |

Well the solution is easy, start your own corp, jump into 0.0, something like N-REAL or EC-P8R, call everyone in local a bunch of (insert a word of general put down), and sit back and have fun .

this really belongs in recruitment section of the forum. you might wanna put in what timesone you live in.
arent you describing the dream corp? the 1 with around 30-40 active members, no alts, all guns and pvp all day? everyone with 25m+ sp. no strings, just pew pew pew all day. noone with a real life, they are just waiting for you to logg back on so they can continue to cheer you on through another 100+ mails pr day.

You have to make effort in getting to know your corp mates and stay long enough to do this. Ours is a small corp (30members) but a very friendly one where we have regular meets for beer etc.
Sounds like you want it all handed to you on a plate.
