In one's wallet, Price, Amount, Credit, and Balance are all displayed with "ISK" after the values, and can require a fair bit of editing if you have a good number of lines before you can get them to the raw numbers recognizable by Excel.
Screenshot examples of what I'm talking about:
Journal: http://puu.sh/fS0OL/0f807cd9b9.png Transactions: http://puu.sh/fS0Ub/fc75faeceb.png
Removing "ISK" from these columns would allow details to be copied directly from the wallet and pasted into Excel without further need to modify the values.

I honestly dont even know why they thought adding ISK into every entry was important. its like, is there some OTHE value-type we could deduct? is CCP planning on adding Guard's Funbucks into the game as an ISK-alternative for the hippies? Did they just worry we might forget we were looking at ISK values in the wallet and assume it was showing us how much ammo we had? |

Create a macro to go into excel, find an instance of "ISK," then delete it. Do a quick count of how many lines you copied over, and have macro run that many times. Only takes a couple minutes of work on your part, maybe ten if you have to look up how to do it. You only have to do the hard part once, then slightly modify it when necessary. This is probably far, far easier than the devs going through and modifying the database simply because you're inconvienenced.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

I was wondering when you folks start showing up.
Firstly, I do something even easier than that. Dump the copied data on a separate spreadsheet and have the data copy itself to the desired spreadsheet (similar to how Paranoid Loid mentioned, actually). All it involves is a copy-paste, really. Still a nuisance, though, when you go to copy the data for another purpose and end up with the formula instead of the value because you forgot to hit your hotkey for it.
With that said, in regards to altering the database, consider this: the numbers displayed are stored in the database as numbers, or pass through as numbers. "ISK" is added at a later point, as otherwise, it would be impossible to actually do any math against the numbers. That "ISK" exists in those fields means that it's being added at some point along the way, and the removal of "ISK" in those columns would mean it's no longer being added, which would be one less task for each line that the database is performing the action on.

"Fair bit of editing"... you mean the 0.5 seconds is takes to CTRL+F, and replace all ISK with blank?

So it can be fast and easy to remove the "ISK" from the copied data, time and difficulty are not the issue here. They can label the columns as ISK instead of each entry and it accomplishes the dame thing..
As far as the time required to remove it from the data base, what a joke. The "ISK" is not stored in the data base it is added by the client when the window is opened. To do it any other way would be astronomically idiotic not to mention wasting a considerable amount of space in the data base. Even if the "ISK" is stored with each entry in the data base it would be just as quick and simple for CCP to remove it as it is for us as players to remove it once we have it in our spread sheets. |

Can't see anything against this. It's simply a small QoL change that could be added as an option. So +1 |

Yep this is the workaround I use for similar issues at work IRL.
The presence of an effective workaround does not remove the problem, however.

If the problem is easier to fix at client side than server side, the workaround is the solution to the problem. |

What I don't understand is why the transactions tab has the Currency column, which states ISK, and then ISK in the Credit value column as well. Most likely some old code shrewd old code no one knows any more what it does, but this kind of redundancy isn't really necessary.

I sincerly doubt the ISK is appended to the entries in the database, as that would make them strings, and not numbers, and thus harder to manipulate. More likely, it's just appened by the UI when it's displayed.
+1 It's not needed, but it's also not a big deal. Sounds like a good candidate for the little things iniative.
