The original date for this series of tests was suppose to be today; however it had to be postponed until friday.
I want to extend our thanks to everyone who has participated thus far, you guys have been vital in helping us isolate problems so that we can work to get them resolved.
Friday October 6th, we will need your help again. We would will need about 200-300 pilots to assist with testing and information gathering. Given the data we've gotten from previous tests we want to run similar tests with a slight variation so that we cen isolate the issues that are causing the problems with nodes during large fleet engagements.
This test will take place on the Singularity server (currently running the same version as TQ) at 11:00 GMT, during downtime. We will need at least 200 pilots to properly test this. Those that wish to participate in testing should log into Singularity prior to testing and join the in-game channel ôPOS stress testö before 11:00 GMT to be moved to the test system. The market will have been seeded with plenty of ships and fittings already. The tests will take place in and around the D7-ZAC system on Singularity.
To help answer questions that IÆm sure will come up, I will outline the basics here. Please read them over if you are interested in helping so that you are already aware of how things will work and this test runs as smoothly as possible.
+ Unlike last time ganging is not needed so this should run a lot faster than the test on Saturday.
+ Pilots should have a good mix of ship types, Including capital ship. Though if you want to use a capital ship please have some jump fuel, strontium, and another non-capital ship ready as not every test will involve capital ships this time.
+ Expect the testing to last about 2 hours, this may end up being about the same length as the first POS test, hopefully nto longer, provided we can get people organized quickly.
+ You will be expected to follow all directions given by myself or any of the CCP/ISD team while participating in this test. It is vital that we do this right so we get useful dataà and we need your cooperation to make that happen,
+ Singularity is currently running the same version as Tranquility so no patching is needed, simply select Singularity from the drop down menu and then login to your character as you would normally.
+ All standard test server rules will still apply, you may read them here: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=253187 (with the obvious exception of #6.. we will be transporting you to the test area and the market will already be seeded with cheap stuff for you to use.) You may also wish to read this thread about the test server: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=46836
As before if you want to help with the testing, but your account is, or may be, disabled please post here with the name of a character on the account you want enabled. Please keep in mind that the account may not be enabled untill just before the test begins and that I reserve the right NOT to enable any account, for any reason.
Please tell your friends/corpmates about this... being that it's on a weekday we will need some help in gathering enough people to get this done properly.
I will also be witholding beer from Sharkbait untill he removes the login queue from sisi.. so that should no longer cause us problems. ____________________________ I break things.

/me goes to inform "GM Dave" of your plans..
On a serious note.. no, you will not need to run logserver this time. All the logging will need to be done server-side for this test. ____________________________ I break things.

The re-enabling will not happen until Friday shortly before the test. So don't try it now and assume you wont be able to login... I will likely be enabling accounts up until just before the test starts. ____________________________ I break things.

It has to do with how the database handles it when the server is running vs. when it's being restarted (ie. daily downtime.) So the change I make that re-enables the account is only temporary, to do a "permanent" fix would require more work and honestly I'd rather spend that time working on getting things fixed instead so it'll end up being a temporary thing every time until the next mirror. ____________________________ I break things.

Well, that brings a successful ending to round 3 of testing.
It will take us a bit to work through all this data, so this is all for the testing.. for now.
I really cannot thank you all enough for giving up your time to help me get this done. You guys came in willing to help, followed directions, and did a great job. Give yourselves a pat on the back!
Though the testing may be done for now, please keep an eye out in the future for more... with how well you guys did these last few times, I'm definitely apt to do it again if we need tests like this run again.
and remember "if it aint broke... I can fix that "
