Not very impressive really. This is more like comedy gold, IMO.

The Band of Brothers Playbook by Sirmolle
Greetings, my fellow Bobbits. As you're all aware, we will soon be launching a glorious crusade against our fiercest opponent yet, the Ascendant Frontier (and allies). Before we begin, I would like to give the fleet commanders an overall picture of our strategy for this war. After all, you can't follow a plan unless you know what the objectives are.
Our ultimate goal is the destruction and conquest of the Ascendant Frontier's space. When the war is over, we will be colonizing the Paragon Soul region personally, and leave the northern reaches of ASCN space to shake themselves out. Paragon Soul is obviously useful in that it extends our borders directly from Period Basis eastward, and doubles as a southern outpost for our capital ships. (Capital ships cannot move directly between Period Basis and Paragon Soul, so establishing a base in Paragon Soul allows us easy access to the rest of the south.)
Taking sovereignty from ASCN is a big project, but really boils down into two steps. The second step, naturally, is to use our capital fleet to destroy their POS's and replace them with our own to gain sovereignty. But because of the lag-quagmire issues (think of Dusk 2 Dawn in XZH!), we need to complete the first step: the destruction of the enemy defense fleet.
I will be using our successful campaign against the GoonSwarm as a model.
The first thing we do--before even a single ship is launched--is to begin the propaganda war on the forums. At a scheduled time, I will write a post announcing the beginning of the war. My forum presence will be brief, to emphasize my awesomeness. Afterward, you will all make posts showing your enthusiasm and high morale. Next, we will attempt to get public opinion (and if possible, the opinion of some ASCN'ers) on our side by attacking ASCN. An attack undermining ASCN's sense of fair play will be useful, since they prize that above all else. As with GoonSwarm, we have access to their private forums, so we should have no problem finding material. It doesn't matter if it's out of date, all that matters is that it's authentic--to the public that hasn't seen the post yet, it may as well have been written yesterday. I personally will not participate in these attacks, as I am a distant, powerful force that only shows up for important stuff. We already have volunteers to carry on the forum attacks. If possible use an alt.
Once the war begins in-game, it's time to select a camping ground. Our primary means of destroying the enemy fleet will be a camp in an ASCN system. Everyone moves in together, when the enemy have the smallest number of ships on defense. Once we are settled in, we stay as long as we keep getting kills. We needn't worry about choosing a system that is particularly important to THEM--when we camp a system, they will come to us. So we pick a system that is convenient for ourselves.

We have a tremendous capital ship fleet, capable of destroying any POS. With our regular fleet, we can match almost any defense force. Lag prevents us from attacking their POS's right away. As with GoonSwarm, there's no point in attacking their POS's until we have whittled down their defense force. Once it's small enough, we can deal with the lag. Since moving the capital ships down is a pain (especially since we have to come from the north), I'd like to attack them all in one or two days. Obviously we will focus on the POS's in their station systems. The reinforced timers will be a nuisance, but we might be able to hold a camp in systems before they come out of reinforced mode, so they can't assemble a defense fleet there.
If we are able to take down one POS, we'll be able to take down them all. Morale has inertia. ASCN will put up its best show at the beginning. If we beat them there, we'll win the war.
Some of you are a little uncomfortable with the idea of taking on such a large opponent, and with no allies (unlike our GoonSwarm campaign). Don't worry, we'll have the allies we need. And just remember: our territory is secure. Our constant presence in their space will wipe out any thought of them actually bringing a capital fleet into OUR space and destroying our POS's. The Ascendant Frontier always puts its homeland first.
On a final note: have fun. Pilots who have fun rarely leave the battlefield for long.
Long live the Band of Brothers! Victory will be ours!

To start with, we will be using GQ2. This is close to our headquarters in Period Basis so it won't be a long trip. Once we control it, we can send in reinforcements from Period Basis without any problem. As a bonus, holding GQ2 will prevent the enemy from being able to launch attacks against Period Basis. They have no other way into our space, unless they want to take the long route.
Remember that once we set up camp, it's important that we never let up. Keep stationary whenever possible. Even if they threaten to outnumber us in that system or the adjoining ones, our ships are more powerful than theirs. Lag is on our side. If they try to send a large fleet against us, they will lag out and we can pick them off one by one as they load into the grid. If the node crashes, they can also be picked off one by one as they log back in. If we keep a sufficiently large force in the camp, then the ONLY way they could dislodge us would be to send in a huge gang, one big enough to trigger the lag. Thus, we are impossible to dislodge as long as we keep our gang numbers high enough. As always, we can pick off stragglers that try to undock or enter the system to join their friends. Remember the camp we kept in GoonSwarm's home system? We literally killed hundreds of them before we lost our first ship. I have every confidence that we cando the same here.
I realize that without capital ships we can't actually attack their POS's or gain sovereignty in GQ2. I also realize that under normal circumstances GQ2 is of little value to ASCN. But the fact that we are occupying their space will be enough to send them against us in wave after wave. Remember GoonSwarm? We camped a system with an npc station--there was nothing we could really do to it, but they just kept coming against us, over and over. And since lag prevents any fleet sizable enough to take ours on, they can do nothing but die. They want to fight, and there we are. Even if they showed an uncharacteristic willingness to attack OUR space, they'd have to go all the way up north. While we're invading them in the south? Doubtful.
The camp isn't the only thing that will destroy their fleet. Sure, it's useful for robbing each of their most dedicated PvP'ers (after all, those are the guys who will keep throwing ships at us) of their favorite ship, their second favorite ship, their third, their fourth, etc. But ultimately, destroying their morale will be the best way of eliminating their fleet. At an opportune time, we will release some data to the public about how great our kill to death ratio is. If they lose enough fleets to our camp, their pilots will lose their will to keep logging in and bashing their heads against our wall. Each loss will increase the divisions that already exist among them (ASCN is how many corps again?). We will be the ones on the offensive, invading their space, killing their pilots. We'll be having the fun; they'll be arguing about why their latest plan failed. With any luck, some of their member corps will withdraw from the alliance. Maybe the Axiom Empire will grow tired of helping guard the south. Always keep an eye on the number of pilots they keep active in PvP operations--this will be our gauge of their morale.
When their PvP force drops low enough, it's time for step two.

Edited by: DB Preacher on 04/10/2006 19:50:05 Aye it was fiction. It was lifted from the ASCN forums and written by one of their dudes as a laugh for the ASCN guys when the war kicked off and it is pretty funny.
We don't need to make lengthy speeches to motivate BoB members though, it's more like "we're going to kill stuffs".
;)
It was posted somewhere on the forums already, and locked as flamebait.. as this should be.

Molle wouldn't know what to do after he hit the character limit on the first transmission. He's not prone to writing long messages. I've yet to see a corpmail longer then maybe ten-fifteen sentences, most are below 5.

Im locking this thread as it seems to me to be a attempt at trolling and trying to get a negative reaction out of the parties it talks about, as it is also posted by a alt and not by any parties involved.
thanks
