Is that so difficult to insert such a usefull module in the game?
Before posted this thread I checked out over 10 pages here and didn't find such this question (answer)...
Ofcorse I prefer to have Large Tractor Beam I, but lets start from Medium one (40-50km range and 1000m\c speed).....

get onto SISI during downtimes when the devs are on playing around in FD (d7 at the moment) and whisper in their ears about needing a tractor beam much more efficent than the forums perhaps a 30km range but uses more cap

While I'd be happy to see human miners benefit from such a device, I can't help wondering how much hassle it would cause anti macro can thieves. It's hard enough chasing down a 500m/sec can, albeit a hilarious victory when you do. The benefits to macro miners outweigh the benefits to Eve by seemingly a long way, I'm sure CCP will realise this and grant you your wish.
It would be nice if while they were at it, they put in a counter to Tractors, like being able to tractor a tractored can, and have it enter equilibrium between the two, giving thieves at least a chance to get a can. But that wouldn't help macro miners at all, so it's unlikely. Seriously, if you manage to flip a tractored JetCan with your shuttle and you started 34Km away, it's a Macro in the hauler, make no mistake. |

I'll get in there with new mirror CCP 'll make, now I've nothing to do with July mirror character...
30 km not enougth, since some missions have a npc over 100 km away from warping point...

There are larger versions of Tractor Beams already in the Database of the game, they aren't used/released though. As they are now, they use more CPU/PG the bigger they are, while the tractoring speed stays the same (500m/s) _____________________________

Indeed, larger tractor beams are needed, especially since many had to train science V and graviton physics(?) before the requirements were lowered.
Don't care about macro miners TBH, I want to enjoy the game, cheaters are not my concern and my gaming experience should not suffer from them.

A TechII Tractor that can tractor Other People's cans... now there's something that would be hilarious. Never really been clear on what portion of Graviton Physics brings ownership into play, can't I just Chip my Tractor like one might Chip a playstation so it does something more useful than the manufacturers intended? Seriously, if you manage to flip a tractored JetCan with your shuttle and you started 34Km away, it's a Macro in the hauler, make no mistake. |

quickfit uses a dbase export and has the tractor beams in it. the larger they are the larger the range. . Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

Tractors need spec skills like guns or missiles, come in small, medium, large, and capital. The tractor speed should be based off mass of the item being tractored and power used by the tractor beam. Range should be based off size and skills.
Maybe even add some sort of crystal to the tractor beam to increase range but decress the power (longer range but pulls slower) or one that pushes instead of pulls. Fear the Ibis of doom!

just give us tractor beams which can pull in ships ---------
I would love to see a bounty pilot get some friend or an alt to pod them to collect the isk if that resulted in a two week delay before their 'personality' was uploaded to a new clone. |

You can slow down a tractored can by using webbers. I occassionally web a can during missions while flipping through enemies.

Did you ever concider MOVING from the warp-in point? I hope you realize that this is a game and not a profession? Just warping in - spamming missiles and then sit there and dragging cans does not sound very fun to me... although I know this is not my problem.
I want a Smartbomb than can reach several AU's and you should be able to configure it to only hit hostile NPCs
Then I can just accept a mission, undock and blast them from outside the station, redock and finnish the mission.
I would grind hundreds of missions per day and have gazillions of isk to swim around in!

There is no point in doing that until we have some Tractors that have a range of several AU's and a max velocity of 6 AU. Not to mention we can't even target that far

If targeting a ship, will pull the pod out, and towards you. If targeting a pod, will pull the pilot out. If targeting a pilot/corpse, will pull the face out.

I suppose when ship wrecks come in they will be tractorable too. It would be nice and realistic if the bigger shipwrecks can only be tractored by larger tractorbeams. Perhaps even let larger tractorbeams be able to pull smaller ships closer with pilots still inside :). Or perhaps let the larger type of beams even pull cans with you in warp .

Did I notice anythere I won't fly to the can's? Not...
I just need to save a lil my time to don't fly to each and other Guristas can's for example wich drops it's not in a line as some other npc's... Also I'm not sit as you dreamed in your own fantasy about mine gameplay... I fly to 19km to each cont and collect and jetisson all loot in one can to prepear it for my Badger II... Not all missions need to do that but many of them...

I use an Osprey with 4 Tractors, MWD, 2 Cap Batteries and 3 cargo expanders, 737 m3
I have a mate with a gallente Exeq that has 1500 m3
No need to use a badger really

Ohh I love my tractor beam! However if i had the chance to introduce something new to the game, I would do something else. Instead of a bigger tractor beam, I would rather have "gathering drones" that could go and pick up the loot for me. |

Being a fighter and not a mission runner, I see no need to implement this. I've never used a tractor beam in my life, nor do I see a reason to.

First, nerf small tractor beams to 5k.
Then, introduce medium tractor beams with a 20k range, cruiser-class fitting, and requiring graviton physics 4.
Now we can introduce large tractor beams with a 40k range, battleship-class fitting, and requiring graviton field manipulation 1 (which requires graviton physics 5 and acceleration control 5).
Lastly, we'll add in capital tractor beams with an 80k range and requiring graviton field manipulation 5 (better make that one a rank 10 skill).
Adding modules the EVE way is fun.

The Large Tractor Beam I is a battleship sized module, requiring 1000 grid! The medium is a cruiser sized mod. You might get one of those on an industrial, but none more than that
