Everyone is complaining about Bistot drying up and Megacyte prices going through the roof, but people are still selling battleships. People who are not in alliances are still building battleships. So I assume there IS still Bistot in unclaimed space...
Now I'm not asking where the Bistot is, I'm just wondering if people are still mining it. Surely it's not ALL coming from recycled loot? So:
1) Are people still mining much Bistot outside alliance space?
2) Is there even still Bistot near stations in Stain? (as in within a couple jumps)
3) Are the battleship builders really getting theit megacyte from recycling now?
and for CCP...
4) Can we PLEASE get the blasted mineral respawn fixed? Please?

There is nothing to be fixed. If anything, rare ores need to be just that; Rare. Mining is way to easy, the "Point, Click, Earn" system needs a complete overhaul if you ask me.
Oh and yes, there is still allot of Bistot/Ark around, you just need to know where to look.

Okay, fair enough that rare ores should be rare, but then megacyte shouldnt be required for so many damn things. I mean, you cant even make missiles now without Megacyte (well, some missiles anyway)
If we cant have Bistot, at least throw Spod back into the game so we have a semi-rare ore that still gives megacyte.
This whole thing stinks. Stinks really bad... like rotten fish.. man, that reminds me just how much a bunch of rotten fish heads smell. Eagles seem to like em though, gobble those things down in no time. You know those are neat birds, eagles. Yep, im suprised there isnt a caldari ship named after one... maybe one of those new Gallante-Caldari ships will be? that would be snazy. _______________________________________________

Guys there is plenty Bistot in 0.0 space, you just have to be prepared to work for it.
15-20 Jumps from a station, is what I mean by working for it...
Having a hauling team, is what I mean by working for it...
Having protection is what I mean by working for it...
If you arent prepared to do that, then dont bother even thinking about mining Bistot, because there are people out there working in teams who are doing just this, and making a great profit from it.

There are also lots of people mining Bistot into Giant Secure Containers alone ;)
The mineral distribution is too predictable anyways. 1.0 and 0.9: Plagio, 0.8 and 0.7: Omber, 0.6 and 0.5: Kernite, 0.4 and 0.3: Jaspet, 0.2 and 0.1: Hedbergite... 0.0 Gneiss and above. Prospection does only work in 0.0 and once you have found a system spawning a particular ore you can farm it.
Personally I'd prefer if roids wouldn't automatically respawn in the same place. If a system is heavily mined the overall quality of the ore should drop for a while. Keeps explorers busy and people on their toes ;)

back in the good old days, when megacyte costed 15k isk.. i used to buy giant secure containers and recycle them, then sell the mega i got out of it for 13-14k each... made a "few" mil that way...

1) Yes we do
2) Maybe, but some of us do 20+ jumps each way to get the stuff
3) That too
4) Is it broken? It is rare, but not impossible to find - you have to risk your neck and team up with some buddies, but thats only great. Everything is not supposed to be easy or afk-mineable :) --------------------------------------------- When you have to kill a man, it takes nothing to be polite |

I also made millions doing this, buying from other players which they thought was a nice competive price but didnot relise that the scrap value was worth more. Even brought 100m worth of stuff from TTI for a nice little earner one day. It does help having a high refining eff though.

sheesh, what are kids learning in school these days? This whole dumbed down education thing needs to be fixed. CCP better get on it. _________________ "For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack."

I like these shortages of Ore, makes things interesting as people squabble over the remaining stockpiles.
Although I've never ventured beyond 0.8 space, so what do I know?

You ever thought that CCP are holding back on it for 'other' reasons...
Such as making us go look harder for it..
Or to slow down the massive progress the megacorps have made... let us use out stashes up and then release the new content... i dunno some sort of conspiracy theory to be had here

I'm not whining, I'm just concerned that a mineral with an NPC price of 4,096 ISK is selling for more than triple that much. Not everyone is in a corp large enough to pull 8 or 10 people together for a deep-space mining op whenever they want to, you know...
And before you flame, I know NPC prices aren't supposed to control the market. BUT, every other mineral sells for somewhere in the general neighborhood of NPC value. I have no problem with megacyte costing 8k a piece, but 12+ is just insane. If there really IS plenty of Bistot left then either miners are gouging, big corps are trying to corner the market, or there just aren't enough miners.
Come to think of it, with everyone doing agent missions for BPs and implants, maybe there AREN'T enough miners... especially considering that getting podded now costs 20+ million ISK for new implants (so fewer people are likely to risk 0.0 space). Yay, another incentive to be a carebear...

Scordite Girl, Arkanor is not rare, its non existant. Ark disappeared just after EVE release and has never been seen again.
Maybe one day they will bring it back, along with spod

Megacyte generally costs around 10K to 11K in the market average. It's been this way for months.
Although bistot rocks are respawning slower, finding megacyte among loot, even with NPC frigate loot in high security areas has become higher. All you need is good recycling ability. While loot recycling does not yield as much mega as bistot mining, farming-hunting still has managed to contribute substantial mega to the EVE economy as an important byproduct of that activity.
Some easily found loot that possess mega:
Overdrives Most Small Smartbombs 100mm, 200mm, 400mm armor modules Small Armor Repairers Energy Transfer Arrays Energy Neutralizers Medium Hull Repairers Medium Frequency Crystals Webbers
Make sure the items are stacked before you recycle.

Well i think its good the way it is now. Are there not enough miners? Then surely the increased price you get for megacyte can incite some people to mine bistot for a while, at 12k a piece it might even eb worth it. If not then the price will go up until player do find it worthwile to go out and mine.
If you think its an insane price? Then go out and mine, then sell for that insane price :)

KIA Corp have created over 1 Billion ISk worth of mega in last 3 weeks.
It isn't difficult, its just a bit boring.
Means to an end tbh. :)

As long as the mineral price of mega stays at 11k or above there is a virtually endless, easy source of mega atm.
And it's not roids.

isn't their one megacyte in basic mining drones : buy a load if they are sub 10k and refine.
