The museum that houses the National Toy Hall of Fame is establishing a World Video Game Hall of Fame.
The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, NY says the video hall announced Tuesday will recognize electronic games of all types: arcade, console, computer, handheld and mobile. The toy hall of fame will provide the model for the video version. Anyone will be able to nominate a video game, and an internal advisory committee will choose finalists. An international selection committee of experts will choose inductees from there, based on four criteria: icon-status, longevity, geographical reach and influence.
So get your best story together about how PL dropped on you (or how you dropped on others) and nominate here!!
A few key items I mentioned in my submission
- EVE Monument
- Fan Fest (even though I have yet to attend one)
- CCP's development cycle and how it keeps the game exciting
- How CCP actively engages with the players on a daily basis.

Saw a news link on my phone, but they didn't have a link and I didn't have the time to go look for it. Can't wait to go nominate eve! And hopefully go see it in the Museum.

I am 100% behind this. The criteria they use easily allows us as players to provide amazing reasons as to why EVE is deserving of a place in this Hall of Fame.

This game doesn't deserve it. Not by a long shot. And the company that makes it deserves it even less, at least the way it is today. EVE is just a good template for a VR sandbox, and is only tolerable because there's no alternative in existence. Rewarding a monopoly is stupid and obnoxious.
And I'm saying all of this as someone who's been here for a decade, and has defended the game countless times against various naysayers.
I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

I vote for the one I think to deserve the 1st not for the one I like to play at the moment.
Therefore I will vote for world of warcraft .
Because of obvious reasons, such as a not limited to, a much wider range of world population have played it/ plays it.
As much as I like eve, I once liked world of warcraft as well, and I believe it deserves the first place of all games.
If not, then maybe counter strike. |
