Just curious, but how aggressive do you think corps and alliances will try and claim the new regions when Revelations comes out? My hope is that the large alliances will leave most of them alone, letting some smaller corps/alliances claim some of the systems. In reality, I really think it will be one big pod-fest with many superpowers vying for, well, power. Thoughts?

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 06/10/2006 15:16:19 The bigger allainces with secured space that have invested in that space won't go anywhere unless the new space comes with a plethora of really valuable systems and pirate complexes, which it won't, so yeah, grab your chance.

I'm sure a lot of people will go there at first, if not to claim the area then to try to score kills. The hunters will become the hunted...

Not me, I hate the darn BM selling and stuff. Besides, I bet the first BM set sold for the region will be a fake one. I'd love to take some space tho.

I suspect the LV/RED conflict will spread out into them. Perhaps the nomadic alliances such as RED will move into them, particularly now that the alleged exploit has ben fixed.
You'll probably get a few smaller alliances operating out of POSs for the first few weeks too.
after that, it'll be people looking for tactical advantages. As it currently stands there is one region of the new 8 that has a single chokepoint (top-left of the new regions). If that remains, then I suspect that more than one alliance will rush to hold that region.
With time, I bet we'll either see one of the established alliances shift up and move, or a new power-block develop in the region. 1Bn is nothing to most alliances these days, nor is the ISK required to go build an outpost.
Perhaps ISS will kickstart the region and open a new outpost? Or perhaps someone like BoB/D2 will take a region?
Who knows.

My view is that larger alliances will let the dust settle and alow smaller alliances to build the out posts that can then be taken from them for less time, hassel and isk.
But like said above, there needs to be some real good reason why an alliance should move there, mining and rats might be enough for some if not many

I imagine all the close by big alliances will all make a go at it. So I imagine you'll see pretty much all the northwestern, and southwestern alliances making headway into the territory.
I bet Goonswarm will finaly land and hold their own 0.0 territory out there. Maybe we'll see Big Blue reamerge, plus there's going to be a lot of little guys appearing and disapearing.
One thing I am curious about though is who is going to be the local rats. Are we going to get to atlast fight Jovian ships on a regular basis. In the Jovian Genetic experiments many of them did go rogue and crazy.

Mmm, I'm certainly looking forward to the havoc when those access routes are opened up. Can anyone link me to a datafeed on the location or posited nature of these new regions? I'm feeling terribly behind.
