Zeit ist Macht!
I had too much Zeit, so I created a cheat sheet ([http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/sheet/EVE_Online_-_Ships_And_Drones_-_A4.pdf]PDF in A4 format, [http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/sheet/EVE_Online_-_Ships_And_Drones_-_Letter.pdf]PDF in Letter format) of all relevant ships and drones of EVE Online. My goal was to have a handy spreadsheet I can take a look at in PvP situations.
The spreadsheet includes the name, primary weapon system (color-coded), tech level, ship type, e-war capabilities or ship role, alternative weapon system, weakest resistances (subjective values; sorting: from low to high resistance), notable ship and weapon bonuses, fitting possibilities and (color-coded) sensor type (for ECM) of each ship.
At the bottom is a (incomplete) list of drones. It includes the name, size, dealt damage type, weakest resistances and notable attributes of each drone.
If you have critique points or suggestions, found an error or like to DONATE some ISK (would really help me :-), feel free to contact me.
Fly aware! o7

Notes:
I - "T" column:
Shows tech level of a ship.
II - "Alt." column (this column might be waste of space):
Alternative weapon system the ship has bonuses on.
III - "Weak Resis." column:
Resistances are sorted from low to high resistance. Highest resistance is not shown.
The order of resistances might be worth to be discussed about, but i believe the average ship fitting should fit the given order more or less. Especially Minmatar ships are difficult to predict sometimes.
For a few ships weakest resistance values are not determined yet.
IV - "Bonuses, Fitting & ECM" column:
Contains notable ship and weapon bonuses, fitting possibilities and (color-coded) sensor type (for ECM) of a ship. Examples:
Cap Chain: Ship NEEDS capacitor transfer from/to other ships to work properly. Cov Cloak: Ship CAN fit a "Covert Ops Cloaking Device". Mode Triage: Ship CAN operate in a special mode, that increases some attributes dramatically.
+Range: Ship HAS ONE bonus on weapon range, like optimal or missile velocity. ++Range: Ship HAS TWO bonuses on weapon range, like optimal and fallof.
V - Publication form:
My Google Spreadsheet doesn't work in EVE ingame-browser, so i publish the sheet only in PDF (the Google Documents "Export to PDF" function broke the layout a little bit).
VI - Missing ships:
Some ships are not in the list (for keeping it "short"), but i flagged the "primordial" version of a ship, like for example "Catalyst (+5)". +5 means that 5 cognate ships exists that have (almost) the same attribute values and also have "Catalyst" in their name. Missing ships:
Opux Luxury Yacht
Inner Zone Shipping Imicus
Amarr Shuttle Caldari Shuttle Gallente Shuttle Minmatar Shuttle Goru's Shuttle Guristas Shuttle Interbus Shuttle
Sarum Magnate Tash-Murkon Magnate
Gold Magnate Silver Magnate
Miasmos Amastris Edition Miasmos Quafe Ultra Edition Miasmos Quafe Ultramarine Edition
Aliastra Catalyst Inner Zone Shipping Catalyst Intaki Syndicate Catalyst InterBus Catalyst Quafe Catalyst

New Version:
Added the "U" column, that shows unbonused weapon or utility high slots (e.g. for "Energy Neutralizers" or "Smartbombs"). Especially for drone ships and T3 cruisers the value is not really reliable. |

Your brain will always be the more comprehensive, faster accessible spreadsheet!
My sheet doesn't show "secrets" or important informations like expectable EHP or self repair amount, characteristics of weapon systems and how to react to them, ... I tried to visualize public accessible informations in a handy way to help new or casual gamers transfering the "basic" knowledge easier into their brains and to have more fun in PvP.
Information hiding (and information overdose) is not a good way to keep new players interested in this game.

New online (BETA) version:
I transfered the "database" into a simple, searchable Website (if JavaScript is enabled). It is in BETA phase but can be yet useful. I am not an html/css/js expert, so it may take a little time to improve it.
Notes:
1.) PDFs and the search of the online version are not working in in-game browser!
2.) For hosting I choosed the cheapest possible solution, so I don't know if the transfered data volume will excess the volume limit of the hoster. Maybe that will cause that the site will be unreachable. I have to look if I find a good alternative.

New online (BETA) version:
Improvements:
In-game browser supports searching now! Some search options added (e.g. OR-connected search). Weapon color is clickable to set weapon system filter automatically. D-Scan result can be pasted (visualization and searchability of the resulting table is still buggy).
Known issues:
In-game browser does not support clickable weapon colors. Internet Explorer has a problem with pasting d-scan results.
Things to come:
Better D-Scan result visualization. Usability and layout improvements. More features for FC's. ... |

New PDF and online version:
Improvements:
- Added speech recognition (EXPERIMENTAL! For a "manual" see note #10 in notes section or "legend" section of the website).
- Fleet compositions can be pasted.
- Added a summary (basic statistics) section (work in progress).
- New URL.
Purpose of speech recognition:
If you are in a fight and want to know more about the capabilities of the opposing ships (but don't have time to type) you can talk to Inf[l]ight and it filters the ships database for your voice inputs even if your browser window doesn't have the focus.
Let me know, if speech recognition works for you as I intended.

New PDF and online version:
Improvements:
- Pasted data can be shared and loaded.
- Enhanced speech recognition.
- New URL.
About sharing:
A scout can paste his d-scan, filter it for interesting stuff and share it inclusive filter settings to space fellows (e.g. a fleet commander). Sharing the filter settings allows a scout to draw attention on something specific. Examples:
When you share or load a paste "too frequently" spam protection takes effect. As result you cannot share or load a paste for 5 minutes.
The in-game browser has problems with rewriting URLs, so the handling of URLs after sharing and pressing "Clear inputs" is a little bit different then in modern out-of-game browsers.
After a "certain time" the shared data will be deleted automatically.

Thanks for your feedback!
Lloyd Roses wrote:Regarding the "weak resist" column... I just improved the tooltip (on "Weak Resis" title) a little bit how to read the values (and hope that it is good enough to understand). But you are right, a "<" is better understandable. Maybe I should change the column title to "Resistances" and use "<"...
I show 3 values, because in reality all 3 resistance/EHP values are often nearly the same and if the third shown is "Kin", a ship with "Kin" damage bonus should use it. If "Kin" is not shown (because it is the highest resistance) it might be more effective to use an other missile type. Maybe I am thinking to complicated.
Lloyd Roses wrote:It lists the drone bay, but not the bandwidth... I like your idea. But I am not sure if it is more important to know how many drones can attack you at once or how many drones the enemy can carry overall...
Lloyd Roses wrote:The "U" row could also state total highslots... I will add it!

New online version:
Improvements:
- D-Scan - Fleet Composition visualization option ("DS - FC").
- Ships database enhanced.
- In-game browser: "Trusted Site" support, for determination of solar system name.
- In-game browser: Set solar system destination for d-scans.
About d-scan - fleet composition visualization:
If this option is checked, ships of a pasted fleet composition that are in same solar system and in space will be subtracted from d-scan. By this you can get an approximation of the real amount of opposing ships. You can also share or load subtracted data (the underlying fleet composition will not be shared or loaded because of information hiding).
This approach does not consider standings of d-scan entries, so if there are multiple friendly fleets "DS - FC" visualization is less meaningful.
You can repeatedly paste updated data as long this option is checked. |

I want to show the effective (weakest) resistances (determined on basis of a large EFT fittings "database" with commonly used fittings). So in some cases the natural resistance hole is not the weakest in my sheet, because the ship has the slots (and CPU or PG) to close that hole without losing to much of the fitting objective. Of course it is a subjective value, but in many cases it suits quite accurately.
Maybe I should change the name from "resistance" to "resistance to shoot at", because I calculate the EHP of a ship (combined shield and armor values). So for the Confessor the ARMOR resistances are indeed THE, KIN, EM (and many popular fits have EHP/resistance in that order) but in my opinion/EFT-fits-db the average minimal EHP/resistance is THE, EM, KIN. But I am open to change that values if someone tells me, that I am talking bulls*it because of XYZ! Often enough the first three or the second and third EHP/resistance are very close together so the resistances order doesn't matter that much anyway.
About the Harbinger values: When I determined the resistances values, I weighted shield fitted fleet fits too high. Shield Harbingers are not that popular, so I will edit the values. Thanks for pointing it out!
Maybe I would avoid confusions if I would show the (shield/armor specific) base resistances instead, but I think in general the current subjective values are more helpful... |
