So I'm in a bit of pickle. My POS is in reinforced with BPOs being researched in a lab.
Is it possible to take the fuel out of the POS so it goes offline and then shoot my own lab?
If that is not possible, should I leave the blueprints in research or cancel the jobs to minimize what the attackers can loot?
Thanks for your answers. |

Hopefully it'll come out of reinforced when you're online ...if it does, you can easily online and cancel the pending jobs and moon walk away while the tower's being shot at.
Of course, this doesn't work in null-sec if it's bubbled. I don't recall if it's possible to remove stront once the POS goes into reinforced, though... |

Find some guys that might want to get some pew on, and tell them what time the tower comes out. Maybe they will be up for a scheduled attack. |

Basically, your initial assessment was accurate: you're in a pickle.
And what's worse, you've just broadcast that you're in a pickle, so there will likely be folks out looking for you and your labs.

Glad you seem to enjoy yourself.
Does anyone know the answer to my initial questions though? |

No, not that way.
I addressed your question with my first line. You're in a pickle. But, since you asked, let me be more specific.
Once a tower is reinforced, you cannot change the amount of Stront in it until it comes out of reinforced and its shields get back up to 50%. In other words, once it's reinforced, that timer is fixed. Your attackers will know with 100% certainty when they can come kill that tower.
I am uncertain if the fuel bay in its entirety is locked out or not, so your plan to offline the tower may work if you can and if your attackers are slow in their attack. I am also uncertain if you can simply online the lab, cancel the job, and remove the BPO once it comes out of reinforced, or if you also have to wait until the shields get back up to 50% before putting it back online.
Hope that helps.

If the tower is reinforced I believe you must wait until you can rep the shields above 50% before you are able to online anything requiring powergrid (I believe it's powergrid, though it could be CPU, apologies). I'm less sure of my answers to the other questions so I'll leave those for another person to hopefully provide. |

In future before you set up your POS read your wiki on the relevant mechanics. It's the best way to avoid possible ****-ups... The questions you have asked are pretty basic POS mechs man, you need to know this stuff if you are operating them really.
You're BPOs are gunna die along with that lab.
if you would like me to explain how to have a 'chance' of rescuing them, send me 100mil and a convo/mail in-game and I will explain to you.

Have you actually read my questions?
Still looking for an answer:
- Is it possible to take a POS offline by taking out fuel blocks (not stront!) while it is reinforced? I checked that yes I can take out fuel blocks. Will it go offline in the next cycle if I empty it and allow blowing up my own anchored structures?
- How does the loot mechanic for labs work exactly? Attackers can a) unanchor it and repackage in a station or b) blow it up. I have gathered that blowing it up works just like blowing up a ship or a can, 50/50 drop chance for items inside. What about the blueprints in research though? |

They should allow unanchoring/anchoring structures when Control Tower goes into reinforced. Its a bit dumb that when your POS goes reinforced, you cannot do a thing with it. Doesnt really sound like reinforced, more like disabled. |

When a POS is RF'd immediately consumes all the strontium available in the strontium bay, for the maximum RF runtime in hours.
The fuel may be removed while the POS is RF'd, however, while the POS is RF'd it is consuming strontium and not fuel blocks, therefore, removing fuel would not make your POS go offline during the RF period. However, once the POS is out of RF and there exist no fuel blocks in the fuel bay, the POS would immediately offline (as it's trying to take whatever amount of blocks it needs for the next cycle).
This would basically give your attackers a free POS shoot since the bubble will go down. They would be able to use Velators to kill your POS since there would be no bubble and no guns. :P

The logical thing to do here is to either sound out your attackers' willingness to take a ransom, or to hire mercenaries to defend your POS, and offer a sizable payment which is paid to a third party before the reinforcement timer.
