Then we are succeeding. From a certain point of view.
The sheep are learning and developing teeth. In doing so, they catch a glimpse of the limitless possibilities ahead of them. What they do from there is free choice.
It would be curious to see what would happen to them if they choose differently to your views. What would happen to their sacred freedom of choice then? Or does that freedom translate also to the freedom of dying if choosing the "wrong" option? As such, one can say then that such freedom of choice is no different than that already offered to any average Caldari citizen, or even an Amarr slave.
Ah yes. Philosophy can be a slippery battlefield. Coincidentally, does any side of this conflict have a need for a large amount of cheap ammunition?

Answered simply in our ROE.
Every pilot that has joined SF has done so for many reasons. One of those reasons is that we do not agree with firing on neutral parties, unless they fire upon us first.
If they make their choice and that choice leads them to open fire on us. Then yes, they have made their choice to become a target of ours. Pure and simple. --------------------------------------------

You haven't understood my question. I say, if one makes a choice that differs from your worldview, for example that of a Caldari loyalist; and yet makes no aggressive moves towards you, how does that reflect in the light of your philosophy? I have heard your fraction proclaiming revolution. Revolution means violence, in one form or another.
As such, who is the first to fire?

That would depend if you believe that someone can make a choice whilst the imperialist Meme maintains its strangle hold. --------------------------------------------

What gives you the idea that you have any more free will or choice, seeing as you're under the stranglehold of the revolutionary martyr-complex meme? --------------------- Originally by: Herko Kerghans Nik = win. Period.

A meme is capable only of influencing, not maintaining any stranglehold. Only if backed by the direct retribution from the authorities in case of divergence can a meme evolve into a doctrine. For example, the Amarr Empire revolves around a set of doctrines - any deviation thereof is viewed as a heresy and consequently punished. However, Caldari do not have such a strict set of rules. The Caldari meme, if you wish to call it so, allows for a multitude of possible behaviours. The State shall not incarcerate or execute a citizen simply because he or she wishes to be less productive. Such a citizen will invariably have to cope with the financial consequences of their disposition, but after all, such is the fate of us all.
So if we have thus established that the Caldari citizen does indeed has more than a modicum of free will, what are you rebelling against?

Edited by: Sable Schroedinger on 10/10/2006 14:01:00 Mimetics, as with all virus', have self-defence mechanisms. Such that allow them to become the dominant virus in any given area by starving out all others. Good or Bad.
Once this has occurred, only radical action can redress the problem and curb the spread to uninfected areas.

I fail to see a connection between mimetics and memes.
However, if we do for a moment view memes as some sort of an infectionary tendency in a society, then where is the logic of fighting that occurence with another of it's kind? It would be akin to trying to cure a disease by creating another. Furthermore, various memes do not battle between themselves for supremacy. It is simply a matter of which meme is more capable of spreading throughout a society. Those who prove to me most capable and consequently most acceptable to a given society will be the dominant ones.
Which brings up a question whether you are trying to liberate people who do not wish to be "liberated". Freedom has many faces.
Finally a point should be observed concerning sociological ramifications fo your aggressive questing to bring an end to a certain way of life. History has shown time and again, that any coherent society shall respond to an outside threat through further strenghtening of it's internal structure, which consequently makes it harder to break it up. The only way to break a society as an external agressor is to simply overwhelm it with brute force.
Pardon me, but I doubt any force in EVE today has the power to rival any of the four great Empires, including the State which, from a military and technological point of view, certainly has the supremacy.
So what you are trying to do is topple a behemoth. And, ancient myths aside, todays behemoths tend to be quite agile too.
You should have resorted to changing the Caldari society from within, through intellectual and ideological superiority. Force of arms will benefit you nothing in this and will result only in your bankruptcy and/or eventual annihilation.

whilst I take you post as a well meant warning and thank you for that, I suspect you fail to realise that it actually proves our point at every level.

That is easy to say. Backing it up with argumentation is, however, something else. Thus until you do so, what you just said stays on the level of empty rhetorics.

Somehow I doubt it, Jasmine, but you never know. If there is one thing I've learned in this campaign it is that talk is cheap, and it is about the only thing the capsuleer militias have in abundance. Just look at Strikeclone, and his ridiculous offers of aid from his impotent, one-pilot corporation.
That being said, I would encourage Jenny to deliver on her pledge. More cannon fodder for the SF wolfpacks.

Fortunately for you, not yet. I might have to backtrack because I do not have the logistic for the time being. If I could, I would be at the front line popping SF ships, all in the name of the State!

Oh Jenny, it's so easy. Take some vacation time from your corp and alliance, join up with CAIN or the other Caldari nationalists and have a party! You can even do the logistics while under your current banner.
I think it's more a matter of You can, but you won't. More Caldari frothing and talking I guess... I'll consider myself lucky when you actually put your missiles where your mouth is and come play with us. _
