BLACK ORACLE	Posted - 2003.10.28 00:37:00 - [1] The CPU of the thorax is 300, with electronics 5(currently have lvl 4) should take it to:- 300 * 1.25 = 375 I would like to fit the following equipment:- CPU 5 Miner's 400 Survey Scanner 5 Small Shield 25 Total CPU is 430. Would also like to fit 3 cargo expanders, which means I have just 2 slots for processors. With two Co-processor I's the CPU will be 375 * 1.07 * 1.07 = 429. Can anyone confirm if the game rounds to 430 or what other processors are available, which are better than 7%, with approx prices plz?

Jarjar	Posted - 2003.10.28 07:01:00 - [3] Wow, a case where using looted Co-CPUs actually help! If you replace one of them with a Photonic (7.2%) you'll get 430.14, truncated to 430.

SUNchaser	Posted - 2003.10.28 16:26:00 - [10] You will find that mining with 5 miner 2's on thorax sucks due the extremely small cargo bay to begin with. save the slot for a cargo expander and use 5 cu's. You will get a slightly improved out than players using 4 miner 2's on other cruisers. Vexor is a much better miner 2 carrier due to bigger cap and larger cargo area. But its overall output is slightly lower than the thorax fitted with 5 cu's. The hassle involved mining a thorax with five miner 2's isn't worth it in the long run. Get a dominix instead. In both cases the vexor and dominix make better miners and the thorax and megathron make better fighters.

What I am suggesting are set-ups that are profitable and user friendly, and easy to put together. Having mined common ores(strictly in 1.0/9.0 systems) for five BS's now these are the setups I use because they make the hours in the roid belts pass with least amount of effort on my part thus allowing me to pay attention to other aspects of the game. IF you plan to still be mining 6 months from now its something to think about.

I get 530 volume/minute with 5 m2s and 4 harvs. Need 3 co-processors and have to drag ore to container quite a bit, but the output is well worth it. I can make 1.5mil ISK/hour just mining scordite or mine 1 refine of Dark Ochra in 7 minutes. (Don't ask me where I can do this with my current Thorax setup :P) IMO, if you set each miner 10 seconds apart, even if you have 100 m3 of cargo you can keep up with the input and make tons of ISK doing so.

Yes, you can fit 5 Miner II's on it, but with 9 harveys I find it a real tour to toggle the loads in the small cargo space. Just because we are paranoid, doesn't mean you're not out to get us.

You will need 2 "named" coprocessors (with ovr 7%) and 2 "named" expanders and I have tons of both :) 7% coprocessors go for a mil each but u can have them for 500k each I also have expanders 20, 22, 24, 25, 27% which sell from .5 mil to 12 mil respectively. However I agree with the other posts. Just get a Dom. If you are intersted, eve-mail me. Tularek	Posted - 2003.10.29 19:38:00 - [18] I use 5 miner II's on my thorax, and I only drag ore twice every min or so and both drags are about 10 sec apart. I use 3 co-processors, 1 basic expander, 1 booster for the low slots. This leaves me with no room for the mid slots because of processor. I start the first 3 and count to 5-10 somewhere in there and start the other two. the frist 3 will fill my hold to about 90% and give me about 5-10 seconds to drag it to the can. Then the next 2 appear and I put them in the can. It's not that hard and I only have to do it every minute or so.
Elessar	Posted - 2003.11.16 11:15:00 - [19] just got a thorax off my corp finally.......have fitted 5 miners II in the high slots but also have needed to fit 5 basic co-procesors in order to use the 5 miner IIs. What u reckon i need in my med slots.....have fitted a small shield booster and a ab but feel i need a better set up than that. Ne ideas?

Try to get one of those. They "only" cost 2-3 mil. Get a named small shield booster, like the small C5-L. It only needs 21 tf. Or go for 2 civilian shield boosters if you have an extra mid slot. They only take 1 tf each. Get better cargo expanders. 24.2% Partial Hull Conversion expanders go for around 4 mil each and 3 of those hold almost as much ore as 4 of the 18% cargo expander 1.
