Pretty significant news if you ask me. Then again, Pann says it was addressed in the forums previously... __________________________________________________________________________ May I recommend a Cybernetic Subprocessor?.. That's an intelligence implant, sweetheart.

Which is a pathetic cop out.
Entire episode has been handled tragically and epitomises the difference between MOG-developers and coders who might have played MOGs.
Brutal but there ya go.
CCP need to go have some lessons from Mark Jacobs and Matt Firor imo... Is there a Community manager for EVE btw?

Concord Agents are not that bad. I heard they increased your security level pretty quick after completing some missions.
As for the Jovian agents, now we know 100% sure that they don't drop perception implants.

Riana,
I have a khannid agent. Don't know what they drop, since I haven't done any missions with them. Hope this answers one of your questions.

Just another crock from an amateur game company. How they can maintain that folks just stumbled onto these agents and that all of a sudden CCP now has become aware of it is bull. This mission forum has had numerous threads on both jove and concord agents for well over a month now if not longer.
Bad enough that these missions are the most boring game play feature ever designed, it is wonderful to now find out that my 300+ jove agent missions were for naught and will just be wiped away. As with a lot of things in EVE, they seem to be making this game up as they go along. No real vision, no apparent master plan. Look at the implant fiasco when they had all races having a chance at all implants for two days and then change it because they "didn't mean it to be that way".
Finally as someone stated in the blog comments, upgrade the damn forum already to some kind of minmal standard with a damn search engine. This is just pathetic. I was checking out a game site where the guys are like building the game with their own money in a basement somewhere and even they had a search capability on their forum.

"these agents, along with Level 4 agents, are not technically in the game"
"players have stumbled upon them"
What a load of crock ! We have been talking about these missions for weeks on here and you only now let us know it's a glitch ????
We didn't *stumble* on them at all, they were there and we did missions for them. As for them being not *technically in game the same as with level 4 agents, there is a slight difference here...... the game doesn't hand out level 4 agents, it does however hand out out Jove faction agents !
Morkt's adjective on the devblog comments sums it up nicely.........shambles.

Very reminiscent of mythic entertainment if you ask me, and the fact that I'm playing Eve now should tell something about it.

I didnt stumble across my first Jove agent; i actually got referred to it by my noob aegnt way back in June.....
Furthermore until the last patch where ccp decided to limit implants to various factions Jove agents did give implants(i got 4 will, 2 char, 1 perc and one intel out of my lvl 3 X-sense agent)
If CCp qualifies this as a glitch.........
All in all i did about 500 missions for X-semse and Genolution corporation (both Jove faction Corporations)and if ccp decides to simply nullify my corpstandings/faction standing and mission count without any kind of compensation i'll be a very ****ed and unhappy customer if i am a customer at all after that |

Edited by: Enderweeks on 28/10/2003 11:02:46 Yep - got my Impro agent back in June, didn't do many missions until recently and then spent ages to get to a lvl3.
And the Concord agent i got was in Yulai so how could a lot of players not 'stumble' over them?

I got two Concord agents in two adjacent systems on dock about two or three weeks ago. How difficult can it be for a Dev to check the agents for the 'Accepts clients on dock: Yes' IN THE CLIENT? Even I can do that? ;) Should be even easier to search for it directly in the database and remove that flag ;)

Well, it was a glitch, but it wasnt handled promptly. Papa mentioned the issue with concord agents and sec status months ago, and had reported it internally to be fixed, then was surpriced months ago that it still wasnt fixed. So..ehhh..pfft, the entire agent system being active was a glitch and shouldn't have been implemented, but most people knew that beforehand. It was only untill after implants were introduced the average Joe Eve jumped on doing agent missions.
Anyways, they wont wipe your work for concord or jove, merely transfer it, that I dont consider anyway reason to whine, once they figured out how to do it. Imho the could just calculate out X ISK time total missions and deposit in bank account, now I would be very glad for that :D. And they cant wipe your concord rating, its your sec status...its rather dynamic. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Nope.
Even if 100% of forum users knew it, it still wouldn't qualify as "Most players".
That's a total cop-out. They have a direct system for placing news and information right in the face of every player every time they log on.
It is a choice not to use that delivery system for such information with such potential for generating seriously negative feedback and encouraging people to cancel accounts due to feeling "cheated" or ahving "wasted their time".
Its bad community management and its bad customer service.
belatedly trying to say "we didn't know about it" is far too much of a cop-out to warrant any support imo.
They (CCP) aren't learning from the same mistakes they ahve made previosuly and that is a very bad sign.

Well,I never knew that Jove and Concord were a " glitch " or that I " stumbled upon them ", and if I had desired to do missions for other factions I'd have done it already. So there is no " merely " here. Your " merely " means that I will have to do another 200 + missions once concord and jove are available again.

Well...whether they knew or not, there werent any promises either. It could be argued everyones gotten their rewards. Theyve done missions, they got paid in ISK, end of story. That was the entire deal before there were any implants. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Will have to do another 200 missions with concord or jove for what? Why? What will 200 missions give you? What makes you think 200 missions for jove is more valuable than any other? ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Not good enough.
We are customers not guinea pigs. You, as an individual, may be content with a total lack of communication and wasting hundreds of hours of gametime for no gain whilst they could have had gain and reward elsewhere, others are not.
Seems like you are saying "Im not complaining so neither should you."
Still doesn't make the communication any better or the "fudge" announcement that "we never knew about it" any more plausible.

No, Im not saying that, just want to put things in perspective. This issue I dont see any different from the many many other issues that we have had, and theyre trying to make up for it as best they can. Transfering the points, I dont think at all is a terrible thing to happen. Theres no reason wanting your effort to be stuck in a faction which doesnt give you anything, and they never said that it would, apart from whats stated in the actual mission. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. It's not that jove or concord missions are worth more than the others. I was doing them both for security/standing boosts and hoping for the rewards that might have been associated with them in the future . Now when new stuff comes I will have to do it all over again

Yea, everyone was hoping, but there were no promises. And you wont have to do it over again, the system is being totally revamped so it wont be the same, if they ever decide to open concord and jove agents again.
But I dont think you should knock the method they compensate your efforts till you find out what it is. See, you could either have 200 of absolutely pointless Jove missions after next patch, or 200 of missions with an agent which you will get something with. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. I agree that there is little point in arguing until we actually find out what ( and when )the compensation ( if any ) will be. On the other hand I must stress once again that if I had wanted to do missions for minmatar, amarr or whatever I would have done them already. Thus, I'd rather keep my status as it currently is, as opposed to arbitrarily change it( if this is actual solution that will be implemented ) to fix a situation that was not my fault to being with .

It will be very difficult to just translate the jove missions to missions for another faction because to do so would skew your factions completely - if they added 200 missions to my Amarr agent then there should be a large faction hit on my Minmatar standing and vice versa. Simplest to do would be just to give a reward based on the amount of work you have done and draw a line under the Jove corps.

What's sad... when I first heard the rumour I filed a petition to ask for info and/or confirmation. Got a reply from a GM within about 15 minutes saying he'd never heard of such a thing, but he assured me if they do can jove/concord agents that we'd be compensated fairly ... sure wish I could believe that. |

I posted a suggestion in the dev blog about how to handle the allocation by allowing us to state which corps we want missions allocated to.
Hopefully it gets implemented... or any other system that allows us to choose where the missions are allocated to. __________________________________________________________________________ May I recommend a Cybernetic Subprocessor?.. That's an intelligence implant, sweetheart.

Actually, Morkt, not even that far.
The in-game news browser has NEVER worked for me. It just loads up the date, and that's it. Never, EVER have I been able to read the news while logging in.
For that matter, the in-game browser itself is horrifically buggy, and I actually can't lodge petitions in the game to report it - the page loads up, but the Submit button is missing off the bottom. Fun.
