Just started playing again after a long break only to find my old alliance is no more. Anyone tell me what was behind the Stain Alliance downfall and where the corps have moved on to ?
And, is their are any old school IE folks still around ?

I believe the IE-EX guys are with R0ADKILL alliance in the east atm, while COL+SE+RAT formed AAA, and MASS reformed as Rampage Ethernal.
Thats the story in very short. ------------------ Save Deimos! |

As with every old allience it was time, After the SE-SA-TRIBE-POS split, things changed
but for SA Alot of people seemed to stop playing, there was no new people coming in, No one wanted to join SA. And it became over run with alot of NPC'ers and people who didn't want to help eachother. or pass info.
As said before Corps went thier own way PMAS-IEEX formed up R0ADKILL. COL is killing ASCN/AXE in AAA the rest formed up Rampage Eternal. which go around 0.0 space and stuff.
In the end it was really time for stain to leave, after the SE-SA-TRIBE-POS split, we where no longer fighting for space, but fighting for the name. Which slowy realized when less and less people shows up
Best times in eve was with stain, it will be missed _________________________________________________________ My First EvE Video Club Seals Not Sandwichs |

Is it any surprise after how the SA name was tortured and mutilated repeatedly ... SE/SA, spelling mistakes etc.... the whole CODA thing.... BoB's propaganda (Station-Alliance)?
Yeah SA was once the oldest alliance in the game, the stalwart of the south holding the breach against the hordes of CA.. but its ancient ancient history... and only the oldies will remember it.

Edited by: Xelios on 09/10/2006 20:55:21 SA passed its prime when CA dissolved, it was all downhill after that (though it was a long and shallow hill). The days of the CA/SA war are still the best I've had in EVE, I don't think anything will top them.
I could write a few pages about the problems that lead to dissolving SA but long story short without the incredibly fun CA war people wanted to move on to other things. It just took a while for everyone to give up the name and home we'd had since beta.
/edit Just to set the record straight, Stain- Alliance wasn't a typo, when CCP introduced offical alliances we couldn't choose Stain Alliance because someone already registered it as a corp name, or something to that effect.

I think most of SA vets miss SA and it's first 2 years of gaming after Beta.
We had an incredible fun fighting the CA horde sin Stain and Curse, all style but the soooooooo boring POS war for territory property. At that time, sovereignty was gained by intense fights happening non stop for several days and weeks, free of POS tactic polution.
Like Xelios says, SA died when CA died. See it as inseparable twins. One goes and takes the other one with him. This is how it happened. All other "issues" were a direct consequence of this 2 years conflict.
I do not want to sound like an ancestor in this game but just close your eyes and remember the following for 2mn of smiles:
- Omega Corp fleets of kestrels loaded with Cruise missiles and pawning your BS in 5 seconds! yeeeeeek! - 200 fleet fight in U-Q with almost NO LAG! - ALl those nasty bad uggly mean pirats Xirtam, Chowdown, USS omaha, Lallante, Jaeger, Omeega ( Sorry for all the others I am forgetting ) Facing all of us nice, pretty , handsome, charming, sexy cute good lovely players: Rampage, Aeryn Sun, The Bold, Trigger, Khoulhkk, Harry Ramo, Abriana, Inflatable Teen, Zeal Dragon... and many more - Your rupture going 4K m/s with dual MWD

after SA defeated CA they had made an enemy of the young alliance FIX. We had some great battles wich i belive helped to keep SA together and forge FIX into a great alliance. once the coda wars took FIX out of 0.0 (before BOB intervention) ther was not much to focus on as a group so they scattered.
just my opinion. i may be wrong.

Edited by: JediLover on 11/10/2006 12:31:05 A another perspective behind gun sights
Old stains, 2003, Second Wave sponsored a small beta formed corp in including me. 4th jump to corridor, some current establishment and Shinra members took my first bs, a tempest down - I loved it.
Next months, each day flying south with roger wilco, north with aearyn sun, nomispanco, razzil, khoulk. Learning to respect both side top pvpers and corps like Shinra, Mass and collective.
I find myself in Mass late 2004 after loosing first 30 geddons and after breaking thousand kills. Transfer from a PvP commander of careabear corp MHI to a rook of machine of destruction, like mass was emergent. Few started to be enough.
1.4 Years later since I flew down to stains, all changes, no more uq showdowns - emperor holds the throne, CA surrenders.
Game changes totally, no more decent foes at few jums - the distance to pick a fight grows to 10+
Few corps stay behind, we move closer to play with section 13, then nothing to shoot.
Totally different times, much more boring, some hostile corps fly down from time to time to harash and gang travellers. PvPers go in to vacation modes, start to vanish and fade. I too took 2 months off.
Some nice duels against fedaykin are the only spice to small scale wars, even more flying to pick a decent fight.
then boredom starts to affect the politics Xetic is big, omist, flying around helping Atuk
later Mass decides to go renegade, 8 of us led by bold moves to querious, I personally shoot down first 3 hostiles in 8 sink geddon and round one against pixies start, Tirfing and mauxir leads the board with svet, cope and digiblast- collective and mass, like always the teeths and horns of SA.
Each time a war ends, we loose some PvPers and gain some npcer corps.
Mass vs Kia, making Heikki and few others angry when mass moves in far away war zone and picks on both sides, fun but far from the excitement once was.
second round with pixies, then third. Jhenr leaves, no possiblity to trade geddon for musicians tii ravens with some tacklers to go with it =)
Between some gypsy moves Mass always did, we protect the cap ship building south and try help against boredom by shooting PSI and hoping SE will come to visit.
We ordered to move to delve, when we declare against BoB, few decent fights, mostly gans by either side.
round 4, 9cg, old hostiles like xirtam join the final round against pixies too late to see the pvper corps, even one join, for the action I quess. The blobs draw bob in, few good laggy fleet fights.
Too many corps act, ties are srong between the 3 year friends and ceos who have met in SA directors groups.
I just shoot.
Decision to form a corp and move after 3 years to something new is given.
Collective leaves I and many others cry for loosing the brother of Mass.
2 years in Mass for me.
IE-EX and pegasus join roadkill.
earlier my old PvP commanders like phenom & light darkness are already long gone to to veritas. Species, cujo year+, tyrell gone months before
Another tourn, something to do - novus and mass forms a team, and the moment tournies is done the last pvpers of SA join Rampage Eternal already hosting Mass including thebold, trigger, random, novus includin darpz and shivan, Redemption including torment and SGE including all but svetlanna =)
First weeks in rams are too clever, 2 excellent pvpers quit eve, after beeing 3 years in mass, it isnt the same. 5 more leave to get more every day action in fh.
Of the 1000 pvpers of SA, and the 100 in mass, random, theonyx, xelios, lamila, Kernal...and most from novus, redemption and SGE - we still got 30+ 1000engaments+ 40m sp+ and 70% of tournie teams, some even from amarr championhips
Ram is starting to roll.Led by a load of well established old****gots from 4 sa corps, including Mass and Emperor Trigger
of 3 years in, Iv spent 2.7 in stains, 2000hours+ and still beside papa smurf
and still shootin

SA/CA wars was da bomb... I even remember sitting in the "at that time" largest fleet battle in EVE consiting of about 260 ships I think. The coolest part, the nodes didn't go down.. we just had some lag issues :)

SA was one of the best times I had in eve the CA wars saw the first major fleet engagements with 100+ ships on either side and many many smaller battles both in and aroudn catch stain curse.
U-Q saw more kills than most systems (except I think pf- M0o saw to that), and the FAT sation changed hands at one point everynight.
Great time s a great bunch of guys but times change and the SE/SA wars werent good for anyone, 9cg and fix was ok but too blobby for my liking.
Great memories to be had...my first BS kill, shortly followed by my first BS loss (poor scorpion)....podded by the infamous Lord Zap in DSS, the list goes on.
SA had its time...RAM is now and GL to those guys...R0ADKILL for everything else SPLAT

Good times.
My first experience with big fleet battle was when I was just a noob in a maller. Rolling into HLW with a 200 man SA gang. Of course me being such a nub I somehow got lost and suddenly saw that I was not with the gang anymore, made my own way to HLW and jumped in and lagged out, I couldnt log back in. So the next day I got in and saw I was alone in HLW. I had a blast for a couple of days trying to get out of there unscathed and all the way back to stain space. No instas
Fun times indeed!
Lots of manlove for old mass guys here

We can tell Shame we're all fighting though. But it's fun
My original corp was Second Wave Inc. Sublime was my next stop.
Second wave also fell apart for similar reasons to SA. Oddly almost identicle reasons. It was a great foreshadowing.
Anyhow. Alot of corps bled into what became ASCN, and POS, AAA, and a whole load of others.
Bacically what you can go by is all past relationships are out the window, and It's an entirely new ballgame. With new friends, new and old enemies consiting of some former allies as well.

Wow, didn't think there would be this many replies. thanks for all the info, filled in alot of gaps.
I don't think there are many people left that would remember me. I was around at the birth of the SA. I remember the long hall down to Stain with the Collective and Platinum X at the helm of Interstellar Elite. I was even around when the CA war started. I left for some time and came back to join IE-EX with my friend Galler T but didn't stay long. Nothing was as I remembered it. Moved back to empire and stoped playing again.
But them days are gone. nice to see alot of fellow Stainers still around

Well .. one day a few months ago everything was fine and dandy, SA were having fights, having a ball, chaining and mining away. I logged off and due to work, RL, moving house, etc I wasn't able to login for about 2-3 months and all of a sudden SA is split up, RAM is formed, MASS is gone and all the old corps had moved on.
So the way I see it - the alliance couldn't live on without me and it crumbled

Originally by: Svetlanna I think most of SA vets miss SA and it's first 2 years of gaming after Beta.

Jeez, miss those "tours" with Squirrel, Digiblast and Rampage hunting CA in small squads of BS and Squirrel taking us into fights of 2:1 or 3:1 odds and often winning.
Amazing pilots to fly with and against (CA props).
The mega with blasters was the big ship in those days and it was amazing when handled properly.
SA started downhill when a ****ing contest saw Duke and his corp kicked from SA. Egos often kill alliances unfortunately.
cheers to old mates and enemies...it truly was the best of times.
