Just started playing again after a long break only to find my old alliance is no more. Anyone tell me what was behind the Stain Alliance downfall and where the corps have moved on to ?
And, is their are any old school IE folks still around ?

I believe the IE-EX guys are with R0ADKILL alliance in the east atm, while COL+SE+RAT formed AAA, and MASS reformed as Rampage Ethernal.
Thats the story in very short. ------------------ Save Deimos! |

As with every old allience it was time, After the SE-SA-TRIBE-POS split, things changed
but for SA Alot of people seemed to stop playing, there was no new people coming in, No one wanted to join SA. And it became over run with alot of NPC'ers and people who didn't want to help eachother. or pass info.
As said before Corps went thier own way PMAS-IEEX formed up R0ADKILL. COL is killing ASCN/AXE in AAA the rest formed up Rampage Eternal. which go around 0.0 space and stuff.
In the end it was really time for stain to leave, after the SE-SA-TRIBE-POS split, we where no longer fighting for space, but fighting for the name. Which slowy realized when less and less people shows up
Best times in eve was with stain, it will be missed _________________________________________________________ My First EvE Video Club Seals Not Sandwichs |

Is it any surprise after how the SA name was tortured and mutilated repeatedly ... SE/SA, spelling mistakes etc.... the whole CODA thing.... BoB's propaganda (Station-Alliance)?
Yeah SA was once the oldest alliance in the game, the stalwart of the south holding the breach against the hordes of CA.. but its ancient ancient history... and only the oldies will remember it.

Edited by: Xelios on 09/10/2006 20:55:21 SA passed its prime when CA dissolved, it was all downhill after that (though it was a long and shallow hill). The days of the CA/SA war are still the best I've had in EVE, I don't think anything will top them.
I could write a few pages about the problems that lead to dissolving SA but long story short without the incredibly fun CA war people wanted to move on to other things. It just took a while for everyone to give up the name and home we'd had since beta.
/edit Just to set the record straight, Stain- Alliance wasn't a typo, when CCP introduced offical alliances we couldn't choose Stain Alliance because someone already registered it as a corp name, or something to that effect.

Stain- Alliance might not have been a typo, but there was an amusing week or so of 'Stain Allaince' which was generally well recieved. ------------------

isk doesnt hurt any1 when used properly - this doesnt apply when 2 big egos starting their personal war at expence of the community...
just my personal opinion.
the original SA will always be a part of eve¦s history, thats for sure.

V Alliance also has Seraphin, Tyrell, IGS, etc from the old SA days... Pretty much all of SA is spread out over the south. Many join ASCN as well... but mostly the carebears of course.

I think most of SA vets miss SA and it's first 2 years of gaming after Beta.
We had an incredible fun fighting the CA horde sin Stain and Curse, all style but the soooooooo boring POS war for territory property. At that time, sovereignty was gained by intense fights happening non stop for several days and weeks, free of POS tactic polution.
Like Xelios says, SA died when CA died. See it as inseparable twins. One goes and takes the other one with him. This is how it happened. All other "issues" were a direct consequence of this 2 years conflict.
I do not want to sound like an ancestor in this game but just close your eyes and remember the following for 2mn of smiles:
- Omega Corp fleets of kestrels loaded with Cruise missiles and pawning your BS in 5 seconds! yeeeeeek! - 200 fleet fight in U-Q with almost NO LAG! - ALl those nasty bad uggly mean pirats Xirtam, Chowdown, USS omaha, Lallante, Jaeger, Omeega ( Sorry for all the others I am forgetting ) Facing all of us nice, pretty , handsome, charming, sexy cute good lovely players: Rampage, Aeryn Sun, The Bold, Trigger, Khoulhkk, Harry Ramo, Abriana, Inflatable Teen, Zeal Dragon... and many more - Your rupture going 4K m/s with dual MWD
I miss you guys
