We pay monthly to be entertained each and every month. We donÆt pay to entertain others or CCP.
ItÆs as simple as throwing a few sheckels into a hat and saying ôDance monkey boy dance!ö The monkey boy entertains us because we paid him. Some how with EVE the monkey boy (CCP) has convinced us to pay him and then dance for him, we are paying to entertain not be entertained and how and why we continue to pay and dance for the monkey boy is mind boggling.
However I do know why we do it, itÆs because the Monkey boy said that if we just do it for a little longer we would see him do something truly amazing. We continue to pay to entertain in EVE for that exact reason, because CCP has dangled a carrot in front of us and said, we will finally be adding in all the things we promised when EVE went live.
Oh BTW they lied, look at Revelations (Kali) and what they are offering. Instead of giving us Branding and reverse engineering they are using smoke and mirrors and trying to pass off Invention and rigging as a suitable replacement, they are not.
I have quit EVE 3 times (and donated all my stuff to my corp) because of these tactics, so far I have not seen anything on the test server to persuade me to keep playing for EVE 0.7
You may consider it odd but to me if IÆm paying for the Monkey Boy to dance, CCP should be saying ôdo you want to see a jig or river dance?ö 
^^^^By the by, is truly flame worthy. If only I did that kind of thing.

If you want ****ty rushed half ass content then go buy/play an EA game. Otherwise stop whining and expecting CCP to cater to your desire for more stuff, and try to actually enjoy the current game.

Comparing random FPS games to a MMOG and then arguing about price is asinine at best. Please reveal to me the home computer that is capable of running an instance of the EVE universe. One of, if not the, largest gaming clusters on the planet is having trouble with it at the moment.

Smoke and mirrors requires a distinct lack of transparency. CCP has been very transparent in what they're doing with regard to development of EVE.
Of course, with transparency comes the risk that some people will confuse thoughts and ideas on future directions for 'promises'.

The fact of the matter is that your mere pittance of a monthly payment does not give you the right or ability to dictate to CCP how the game should be developed. The game is theirs; if you don't like it, don't play. Your subscription fee grants you the privilege of playing; nothing more.

What i find funny on the forums is that some people, especially in threads like this one, give the impression of really disliking the game. Then you look up their details and they have been in the game over a year I think to myself "why are you still paying" If it were as bad as some people make out then it would be like a person walking home after work every day and always going in to the same fast food shop and saying "You're burgers in here are rubbish. the meat is off the bun is always stale and theres never enough mayonnaise. And the burger shop down the road is cheaper." as you hand over your ú5 just like you did yesterday.
/me thinks that people like whining almost as much as I like blowing stuff up in game

Not to mention they are also buggy as hell AND you have just shelled out for them.
Still I wish CCP would rush out more things and make the server grind to a halt almost every night, then I could moan on the forums instead of beating my children in the celler like I have to do now.

I hope the improved system scanning and exploration will really improve the current Eve. And i want to be able to find people and warp to them much easier.
It will have lots of bugs when it comes, but log on the test server and help find them. It doesnt take long to run a few missions, explore some of the complexes, try out the system scanning and then file a bug report.
It's shaping up nicely. It still needs some work IMO, but the basics are all there, it just needs polish and tweakage.

Sometimes I don't understand the people. They can spend hours on a forum complaining about something they don't like, but if someone else post once telling the only worry he has about the game, then he is a troll.
I see the point of the original poster and of many others. The EVE Online development cycle is sometimes not comparable with other top quality MMORPGs.
I think I can see some of the reasons:
1) The EVE team is small compared to the WOW or EQ2 ones, so when they are busy doing something like preparing a new cluster for China, they cannot invest the usual amount of time in developing new content.
2) being Kali a consistent code change, at some point the Devs decided that, for easier quality control, any other modification to the game would have been done on the Kali code, and not on the EVE code running on Tranquility. This made so that a lot of changes that should have come in the past months with small patches, will arrive all together with Kali (as it actually happened in the past with previous expansion)
In any case, I cannot understand the tone somebody uses to discuss. If someone is not very satisfied from something, he should be free to say so without being attacked.

Let's say the gang system is full of bugs. Rather than waste the time to fix them all, they decide to start over and implement a new gang system from scratch. Yes, it will introduce new bugs and yes, it will be a "new feature", but it's the right way forward in a lot of cases. We do this often in developing EVEMon.
... yep, I still can't go a whole post without mentioning evemon.

Lets hope that they don't release it a few days before chrismas again. Don't like that chaos one or two days, before I drive into holidays. Last time I had to delay that one day just to play a a few hours rmr, before having a 3 weeks eve break.

Besides the necromancy, I still find it hilarious people are complaining about not getting enough free content expansions when so many other major MMOGs are charging money for maybe one expansion every 2 years.

Probably just looks that way because most don't include VAT in their published prices. The average is $15 a month, and EVE is also $15 a month.

Mabye im just sour from npcing so much lately but seriously this is pure utter crap.

You might not know this, but any other MMORPG charges for expansions. CCP releases expansion free of charge.
Actually, in most other MMORPGs, you get "free" content patches at the size of CCP's "expansions", though I'd would tell you since you might not know this.
