If it isn't broke, don't fix it. And insurance is one of the very very few things in this game that isn't broke. It improves ship sales and sales of low end minerals in a economy thats almost non-existant now.
Find something else to whine about

YES is said it isn't broke, the market is broken for allowing to buy ships so cheaply.
I hope you get a doctor who amputates your head to save body, then maybe youÆll understand.

I'd rather see that then the whimpy griefers who log to avoid getting killed. But don't worry, I heard there are doctors who specialize in pulling peoples heads outa there asses.

In Eve, a dimwit can lose 3 battleships in 3 days, and make 6 million isk for his trouble.
Dear Bob Just how much do you think it cost this Profiteer to outfit this BS-..IM SURE ITS MORE THAN 6 MILL.
No. Read my post on the previous page. The carebears use standard equipment. One of them even confirmed that his equipment was worth about 3M. The carebears all use Scorpions and outfit them with 4 siegelaunchers, 2 standard turrets, 4 ECM, scrambler, webber, sensor booster and shield booster, and fill up the lo slots with Power diagnostics. They equip their battleships with equipment not even worth recycling. They go out and try to PvP without any risk at all, except loosing implants.

No risk? I take you never have hauled anything of value. BTW you convinced that you are both and whinner and a idiot. Go back to quake moron.
Quote: Edited by: BobGhengisKhan on 29/10/2003 15:54:09 The market is not "broken," the law of supply and demand is working. What is broken is the AI for insurance agents to replace ships for people who have never paid for an insurance contract without claiming before the cycle is up
Say it's whining, but you're an idiot. A huge part of this game's content now are the player-based wars that are going on- having npc's subsidizing every single failure on both sides is absurd
You don't have to come into 0 sec space. But we don't have to have the game ruined for us because you don't think any sort of risk should be in the game.
A great deal of my kills are hit and run anyway, where the enemy's backup arrives as soon he is dying. I have to run before I can close in to grab the cargo, so in many cases the guy is getting his 250 rails back anyway. Butcher and bolt

Edited by: Chucky on 29/10/2003 16:50:10 Actually you only get a wad of money, you you instantly get a ship back like some want. That money may or may not get your ship depending on market prices. But hay the market must be perfect since ships are so damn cheap, maybe if there wasn't as many ships out there the price would go up. But take away insurance, then see what battles are like.
If you don't like insurance, don't use it! And don't WHINE about the people who do!

OMG!!,OMG!!,OMG!!,OMG!!,OMG!!,OMG!! A n00b that dies with Dignity instead of running like coward! If you would rather see a player logging off to save his modules, I guess that says alot about then doesn't it?
Quote: I'd rather see a player fitted in a real way try logging off to save his modules than see a n00b loose his ship and laugh since he made money on loosing his ship.

Oh excuse me! Solders must not have life insurance either. But they still fight to the death.
And noobs aren't to good with money, I doubt they making money. But with market the way it is,I supose it's possible. Who's selling Scorp for 45 mill?, I want an extra one!!

I'd rather see them fix gate campin's, but still I don't see anything wrong with insurance. It's more fun for everyone involved, even if they are to blind to see it. And there is damn little fun to be had in this game.
Nice to see someone in Mass has a brain aka. FileCop AI.
And BTW, that n00b that said he made money was prolly pulling your chain, looks like it's easy to get you going

Eve is going, but not because of insurance. You can't make large amounts of money from it. Lack of new content and action is going to kill Eve. Insurance is the main reason there is as much action as there is.

It's not easy to get a battleship, most of the 30k that play don't have and will never get one. And this getting it back for free concept you have is distorted.
The fact that you are in Mass is prolly the only reason you have a bship at all. Toss everything you got away and start again and see how long it takes to get a bship. That might snap you back to reality.

Quote: Kinda late to this topic, but I'll add my two cents.
I used to play a MMO called MotorCity Online. It was a buy, modify and race your classic ('70s-'30s) car game and is no longer alive, because the devs made the system give out too much money and everyone had everything and then some. Cars we're being bought in the auction system for $5mil.
Needless to say it became rather bland since everyone was running around in the same ubber cars with no variances besides the paint jobs. MCO lasted for a little over a year before they lost so many subscriptions they shut it down.
--
EVE is heading down the same road right now. For this game to work and last requires money sinks to bleed off the excess wealth that is amassing. Otherwise we'll all be running around in titans within this game's first year and it'll become boring and people will start quitting and it just snowballs from there.
I agree wholeheartedly with the original poster. Insurance needs to be one of those money sinks and by no means should be a tool to profit by.
Exactly what I've been saying.
It's too easy to get the biggest ship. And if you manage to loose it you get a new one for free.

Duh!! It keeps me in the game knowing I won't have to spend a month casual mining to replace it. I don't belong to a big that can just keep handing them out.
Oh and ok now no one took me up the 45 mill scorp offer I put up. So I'll pay 55 mill for a scorpian full equipted and delivered. Lets see what kind of a response that gets.

I'm thinking the point here of the whine is, if a corp loses all they're bships you think they are going keep coming at you with cruisers and frigs. Thats not going to happen, they are just going to quit and you'll have to go after another corp. And after a while there won't be anymore corps.
You assume all ships are lost in combat, when many are lost bugs and exploits. And still no I recieved no offers on a 55 mill scorp, which is more than you can get from issurance.
But go ahead CCP, take away insurance and put the final nail in the coffin. And I'll be here saying I told you so.

Actually your playing a game, step away from the computer and take a walk out the door. There are no insured Battleships waiting outside the door.
