Edited by: Rees3 on 10/10/2006 04:21:05 Currently i have tryed everything i can to reduce the number of connection errors / hangs / disconnects in eve and other games. I have reset my router added eve to the list of added ports. added eve to my firewalls allowed list, bought a new network cable, changed the configuration of my network card in my PC and done about everything i can think of.
I would like to try Pvp in eve but with my current connection errors it would be to much of a hassle and i would lose to many ships.
Please post your recommendations.
System specs- Asus a8n sli premium Amd athalon 3000+ socket 939 geforce 6600 160 gb HD 1 Gb Patriot ram in Duel channel ( 2 x 512) i am currently using all the on-board stuff the mother board has.

Can you please post the errors you get?
Also, if you try to listen to streaming music (such as eve-radio) do they get disconnected?

Are there any other computers in the house hold experiencing the same issue? or just yours? If its just yours then its your system.
Start with reinstalling network drivers.
If other computers are also effected, try connecting directly to the modem for 30-60mins, or how often it takes to get disconnected. If it doesnt happen, then its your router, if it DOES happen, then its the ISP and you can call them up and get it sorted.

it will just hang for about 15-30 secs then disconnect or carry on. It may be the marvell Yukon gigabyte ethernet controller that is on my motherboard but i am not sure. Thx for trying to help!

How long of an Ethernet cable are you running? If you are going more than 100feet its gonna drop like that. Unless you bridge the connection.

Do you have an extra ethernet card laying around you can plug into one of your PCI slots? That may help you.
If you dont, like $15 at a store. Can try it, and take it back the same day if it doesnt work.
