Been looking around for information on this.
From what I've read, standard faction Blueprint Originals are put up periodically by NPC corporations.... correct?
And the only way to get T2 BPO's is through the research system using T1 Blueprints.... correct?
The thing is, where do BPO's for non-standard factions come from? Navy or Pirate factions for example? |

There are no BPO for navy or pirate faction ships. There are however limited run copies (BPC). Navy ships you can buy these copies from the LP store. Pirate faction BPC drop from scannable combat signatures (DED sites and unrated sites.) |

Not sure what you mean by "standard faction".
T1 BPOs are sold by NPCs. BPOs for faction modules do not exist and never have. T2 BPOs could only be created for a short time - CCP removed that rather quickly, but chose not to destroy the existing ones. No new T2 BPOs can be created, you can only buy them from another player (usually for an absurd amount of ISK).
You can, however, acquire faction and T2 BPCs (copies). Faction BPCs come from LP stores and/or exploration. T2 BPCs are created by "Invention" from a T1 BPC and other ingredients. |

T1 meta 0 BPOs are available in unlimited quantities from NPC vendors in the racial regions. Mean minmatar ships and projectile based stuff in minmatar space. Amarr ships and lazors in Amarr space etc... The mechanics to obtain T2 BPOs have been removed from the game. The only way to get T2 BPOs is to buy them from players that have them. There are very few left and the ones that are around as you would imagine are very expensive. Faction or any higher meta BPOs do not exist in game.
Blueprint copies or BPCs with a limited number of runs are a different story. You can invent T2 BPC through the invention minigame and you can buy faction BPCs with LP or sometimes they drop as loot. |

Not periodically. They're always for sale on the regular market.
Quote:And the only way to get T2 BPO's is through the research system using T1 Blueprints.... correct? There is no way to get T2 BPOs any longer. Any T2 BPOs still in game are leftovers from a research lottery that ended ~7-8 years ago. You get T2 BPCs via invention, take T1 BPCs + data cores + time = % chance of success

Some faction items have BPCs that are purchasable from the LP stores or which drop from exploration sites. Other faction items are only purchasable as the item, also from LP stores. Deadspace items drop from some exploration sites.

> From what I've read, standard faction Blueprint Originals are put up periodically by NPC corporations.... correct? < Yep. Standard faction being every(?) T1/M0 item.
> And the only way to get T2 BPO's is through the research system using T1 Blueprints.... correct? < Nope. You can only get T2 BPO's through direct trade or contract or whatever, but no market. They were originally distributed in a lottery based on something to do with datacores ages ago. There aren't T2 BPOs for every T2 ship, I believe.. No T3 BPOs, either.
> The thing is, where do BPO's for non-standard factions come from? Navy or Pirate factions for example? < Navy BPCs come from LP stores. Storyline BPCs come from Storyline missions. Pirate BPCs come from Pirate Faction LP Stores or combat exploration. Or Data/Relic sites for POS related faction things. Pirate Ship Modules and such (Dread Guristas Warp Disruptor, Dread Guristas 125mm Railgun) do not have BPs, they are direct drops from faction spawns. Officer items are the same. Deadspace mods come from structures in rated(?) combat sites. These require probing, but can also be given as an escalation off an anomaly. |

T1 BPO's = NPC seeded.
Faction BPO = Don't exist.
T2 BPO's = Relics of a distant past, if you want one...you will need to bring trillions of ISK to the table.

T2 BPOs aren't trillions of ISK, most have prices in the low eleven figures; the best ones reach the low twelve figures.
The game client has data for faction BPOs, which means they can be linked (type Rattlesnake Blueprint in the market and you will see a market entry for Rattlesnake BPOs). However, they do not exist. There have been some created by either game bugs or (maybe) GM-player collusion, but these have been all removed from the game.
T2 BPOs exist for most modules and ships that were in the game 8 years ago. In most cases, there were 10-30 of each specific BPO ever seeded, and some have been destroyed or locked on inactive or even banned accounts.
Chaos. Opportunity. Destruction. Excitement... Vote #1 Sabriz Adoudel for CSM 10
