I was having a bit too much fun the other night when I got my Retribution for my alt. I flew it to 0.0 and lost it in a rather large fight that should not have been. (Yes I had an Interceptor friend to tackle so I could git an AB with my one mid )
Im wondering what are the tactics to using the Retribution first? I attempted to get in close with my AB and unload while trying to orbit, but I ended up getting almost killed while I was flying towards them with no transversal.
I had- 4x Medium Pulse Laser II (w/conflag) 1x Small Diminishing Nos
1mn AB II
True Sanshas Smarr Armor rep 2x EANM II 1x Active Hardener 1x Heatsink
Im a hardcore BC pilot with my main, so im Absolution all the way. After using the Absolution so much I tried the Retri and gave in with 1 active hardener as opposed to a second HS.
me and my old ways.

Im pretty sure the retribution doesnt have the grid, nor the CPU to fit that setup.

Drop the nos and fit 2 heat sinks, you will fry interceptors between 2.5-15km

U never fly straight towards something in an af or ceptor. u have to approach u target while keeping ur transversal high. get an experienced friend to show u. basically u want to approach ur target manually in a sort of zig zag method. af approaching = instapop

Please excuse my ignorance, Dual Light Pulse Lasers, and 2 EANM II's with 2 Passive hardeners and no HS

altho a pulse retribution dishes amazing firepower, I find the range of the pulses pretty lacking.
thus I prefer to use beams instead. over 50km with aurora ftw -------

They only require 1MW and zero cpu! Very low fitting requirements. Sadly I didn't notice these two items until yesterday when I was fitting out my Crusader/Malediction, sigh I feel like a n00b, so I'm going to be integrating them on my Retribution shortly. It should free up enough CPU for you to use 2 heatsinks, although I don't have QFit handy.

Stop using the conflagration lenses in frig pvp. The tracking penalty kills its usefulness. Scorch S is much better and gives you around 18km optimal on the med pulses.
