So if a pirate in Egghelende (Sinq Laison lowsec) loots four T2 Magstabs, 3 1600mm T2 plates, and some Heavy Ion Blasters, they are often happy to sell it where they are rather than getting a highsec legal alt to haul it to a hub. If they want top dollar, they use sell orders. But if they just want the stuff gone - they sell to my buy orders, and I work on getting top dollar for the goods.
Sometimes I sell it where it is, other times I pay a useful idiot to courier it to somewhere that it will fetch a premium price. For instance yesterday I paid 450m for a Vindicator blueprint copy in Egghelende, paid a useful idiot 5m to move it to Dodixie where I knew it would fetch a premium, and sold it there for 495m. The same day I also had some Light Neutron Blaster IIs sold to me in that same system, and I just reposted them on the market locally because I know there is local demand for them. When setting region wide orders, especially to get what people in low-sec sell/dump, how do you decide on the price, for instance a lot of places 1 isk might be the only buy order for a t2 magstab, but I doubt someone would sell to it (at least regularly), assuming no competition, how do you determine where to price it? Consider the average prices in jita, but more importantly the closest trade hub might be a region over , and at the same time only one jump away. So fly around a bit. Be sure to check 6 months and 1 year graphs for the item to get an idea too. Take it all into account and then lowball the hell out of it, placing a few orders at different increments to see if only one or all are filled. The time frame of their filling will give you an idea of how well the prices are perceived by the sellers and settle on the prices that filled more quickly.
