Can anyone explain why the tech 2 1600mm plates are selling at a higher price than the 1600mm rolled tungsten in essence and the forge?
As far as I can tell, they both provide the same armour, the rolled tungsten uses less power grid, cpu, weighs less, and requires lower skills than the tech 2.
And yet is cheaper....?

Do the t2 sell though? High prices could be because the poor suckers who got the bpo's live on hope, or there are actually people who dont realise rolled is better. ___________________________ Brutors Rule! My Eve-vids; Click. |

I would say 90% of the cause is ignorance and laziness of final consumers of those items. Lots of time you will see also radioisotope hardeners going for lower price then tech1 regular ones. Sometimes they are selling even under refining price at Jita while the more CPU more capacitor same effect tech1 is going 50% or higher in price.

This is the same in khanid region as well, u can guess what i am using,
the only issues would occur if named t1 became rare then we may switch over,

It might also be an issue of supply - the named drops don't necessarily all get sold at the same stations in the same quantities all the time.
So people would rather grab a large batch at the same time - and hence pay more.
Reliability of supply and batch is also important in determining prices.

People often are just too lazy to actually compare all options. I've even found named items cheaper then the base item before...

Low-end named items (particularly guns) are often cheaper than t1, especially in mission stations - probably because they refine to less minerals IMHO.
