filled up a nice can of scordite... suddenly I drop 5000 more into it, and the 100k+ that's in there just up and disappears....
so I go to the help channel, and there are 20 other people complaining about this problem....
hmmm...
I'm trying to figure out how pathetically this game must be programmed when they add a new food and the cargo containers break...

Here's an idea:
Don't Mine so much before hauling it back to base.

Efficiency is king.
However, it's possible CCP just put a volume cap on containers.

oh my, isn't that a brillant idea....(jeeez) you must be working for CCP to come up with that lame workaround...
Here's a better one, CCP can fix the damned code and stop making excuses for their own mistakes!

it flew over my head too i guess. sorry to hear that tabius. it blows when your trying to work towards something and buggy code pulls the carpet out from under ya.
heres to a timely fix ccp

Jessica (as always) is no help, but here is a workaround that I found.
Make 1 pile in the cannister with 1 unit of ore and then make another pile in the same can and add your ore to that stack.
You will be able to take from the second stack but, als, that one unit is usually unrecoverable. Hope this helps you and sorry for your loss.

well, one of the guys in the help channel had the same problem with a can full of crokite... so my 20 minutes worth of scordite mining isn't a huge deal...
But the bugs are starting to drive me crazy.... I mean sheesh...now I can't even mine...
minings broke fightings broke markets broke
what exactly is left?

The issue is hardly new and Galaga's workaround has been practiced for almost as long.
Then again, I don't know why anybody should care about another stupid can dropped by another stupid miner who is too frikkin lazy to haul his ore to station (a proven method used by countless pilots for a few weeks after release) amnd would rather lag everybody else to death... |

Make that 21... Happened to me too last night - fortunately only with 5k of Scord. Was weird. The 5k disappeared leaving a 960 which couldn't then be moved. I could put ore into the can by placing it next to the 960 - and then get it out again. But any dragged onto the 960 was gone for good.
Is this one of those "hot fixes" they were talking about so complacently at the CSM as being the solution to Eve's problems?

There *is* a volume cap on containers and has been as long as I've been playing - it's a bit over 180,000 Scordite.
However since the bug happened to me at around 5000 Scordite I don't think this can be it. Particularly as I then filled three more containers with 160,000 each without further problems.
If this bug has existed for a while, it's the first I've seen of it. Have had problems sharing cans - still have problems with the display on secure cans - but not with my own unsecure cans. For it to suddenly appear to 20+ people for the first time on the same night would seem to stretch the bounds of coincidence...

From what I have seen, it is just a display bug. Relog, and you will see all the "disappeared" ore. Also, if someone else opens your can, he will see the whole ammount and be able to transfer it to another can.

Had something similar happen to me last night...
When I moved ore to can and at that moment more ore was dropped in the stack, I couldn't move the new batch from my hold. More ore would be added to it, without the stack refreshing, until my hold was full.
Could only eject it afterwards, but the can was buggy. No new ore dropped on it would refresh it and my hauling friend could see the refreshed amount, but wasn't able to move it at first.
After a few hauls he tried again, and was able to get the ore from the can.
Weird...
Just because we are paranoid, doesn't mean you're not out to get us. |

hmmm... and what exactly was ur point??? dont mine so much before hauling?? So what ur trying to say is dont mine into a can, dont use indies, just ur regular ship?? wtf? lol... Theres not to many points u can be trying to make about such a bold statement.
I can see however u have not played eve much, and didnt understand what i was saying at all.
Point is, it doesnt take long to accumalte that much minerals. And hauling it back any faster then every 30minutes is a waste of an indy.
But i guess i understand now, ur most liekly in a noob ship, so i can see how u think that is "alot". thx

Only bug I can see mentioned in this thread is the one that allows you to mine into a garbage can.
Use cargo containers bought from the market, instead of mining into a garbage can. Problem solved.
