I suppose its the same thing as last time. Hacked account again, btw. The guy is in a player corp. And theyre getting more clever, changing the name of the link to an myeve website link, but the actual URL being another .UA website.

Oops, looks like the forum got ganked.
His post links to a site with a single "DOWNLOAD EVE SOFT HACK" or something. Downloading and opening the file (or indeed visiting the site, due to 0-day exploits) will probably install a keylogger onto your system.

drops a trojan keylogger onto your computer when you click on the link. Records the stuff you have typed and broadcasts that to a site usually.

I'm not certain (I haven't actually clicked it), but I believe this uses an exploit in IE7's tabbed browsing system.

Edited by: Myagi on 14/10/2006 13:44:36 Best to run a virus scan, just in case.
If you don't have a virus scanner, bitdefender, fsecure, and a few others have an online free scan available on their websites.

I belive you have to download the program to be hacked not just clikc the link, although it is stupidly lame. Saying that the link says "EVE SOFT HACKS" so anyone clicking it deserves there account stolen

You cant get a virus from just looking at a thread on the EVE forums, but if you so much as click that link you will be taken to a website where a rather nasty little program may get automatically installed onto your computer without your consent.

No, I don't think so.
I...uh..clicked the link to the site. Didn't click the hacking crap though, could this could be just as problematic...? I searched my C:\ Drive for the supposed files (autoexec.exe and crss.exe in Windows) and found nothing.
Doing an Avira scan right now. -------

If you have a good one, yes. Then the keylogger won't be able to do anything nasty, and won't be able to report home.
Then you can run anti-spywar/virusscan at your leisure. ------------------------------------------- "Never underestimate the power of language."

If you don't know, you'd be best off using a spyware/virus scan...
Try AVG or Avast for anti-virus.
Ad-Aware and Spybot S+D are good for anti-spyware

If you clicked the link....
Go straight to your Windows folder and delete the 'CRSS.EXE' program.
Then scan your machine for '~.exe' That is the trojan installer.
