I just did this mission for my first time today, I was trying to solo it in my raven. I though I had a good tankin and some deacent dmg. But no way in hell I manage to withstand that kind of dmg for more then 2 min or something. So I tryed warp out, reacharge and give them another shot. But I couldent get away, but there was no notice about any warp scrambling, and ofc the statis towers made me damn slow, but I should be able to warp out any way right? Why the heck couldent I warp out? So I manage to lose my damn raven :/ I have a couple of questions about this mission.
#1: Is there any warp scarmblers in the 2nd room ?
#2: If not, why can I warp out of the room?
#3: Im I just a real lousy player or is this mission hard doing solo?
Big thx to u all :)

it's not that hard, gets little bit more dificult if your shield tanking them armoud tanking, but it's still not that bad iv'e been able to tank the entire thing with a medium armour rep on my apoc
don't think iv'e been scrambled on the second stage, but iv'e defenatly been webbed plenty of times
kill the two cruise missile launchers first, then go for the heavy missiles and then the crusiers, while killing frigate with drones |

Edited by: Topodo on 14/10/2006 16:05:13 When I do this mission (Raven), I have two EM hardeners and 1 thermal, along with a shield boost amplifier and a shield booster (I'm using a Gist B-type XL myself).
When I arrive in the second room, the first targets I go for are the Cruise missile towers and the cruisers. Then I clear out the Heavy Missile towers. After that, the remaining BS and frigates are easy to handle. But, if your tanking can't repel the damage enough while you take out the bulk of the damage causers, the frigates could be scrambling you. If that's a concern, kill them first with light drones so you can retreat.
If you got no notification about being warp scrambled, perhaps the stasis towers and webbing frigates were just horribly slowing your alignment and acceleration (you need to be at 75% velocity to warp). When I do this mission though, I just stay where I am, and I'm out of range of the stasis towers.

The three Sansha Berserker's all have warp inhibitors. Take them out first while sicking your drones on the two Stasis Towers. As soon as the last tower goes down recall drones, finish off whatever Berserker's are left and warp out. Next at it take out the other towers and warp out (and repair) Then come back and start in on the BS and cruisers.
As a side note. I managed to pull this mish as my very first level 4. Ouch. Didn't die but with as little margin for error as there is, it's only a matter of time.

I'm doing it in a armour tanked Domi. first thing I do is just run away from the towers as fast as possible (which is with an AB for me), also, immediatly I send out hvy drones to deal with all towers and I hit them with my rails as well. when the towers are down, i kill the webbing frigs, damage is not really a problem at that point.
It might be true, that the ships are the biggest damage dealers, but you have to compare, how easy it is to take them out. comparing dps to actual hitpoints (including resists), the towers come out top.

hey hey
do the mission the easy way if your stuck.
in the second room there are 2 slaver ships. Pop those and you should get mission flashy.
switch on tank and log out if your scambled.

This mission is incredibly easy if you don't try to tank every single thing there. When you warp in, move directly down away from the turrets. You'll soon get out of the range of the heavy missile batteries and that's like instantly destroying all of them because you don't have to tank them any longer. Pop drones and kill webbing/scrambling frigs as you move down, and I concentrate on the battlecruisers/cruisers because they die easy so removing them first also helps cut down on incoming dps.
No warp outs if you do this in a raven with 2 em 2 therm, a shield boost and amp for a tank. Requires cruise to fit a tank like that I believe (if you wanna keep a NOS as well).

If you are worried hop into a shuttle and make a bookmark and then go grab your ship. Warp to 80 from that bookmark should have eveything at a nice range.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you don't need several hundred million worth of isk in faction gear to run level 4 missions (although it does help if you're lower SP).
Raven: 6x 'Arbalest' Cruise Missile Launcher 1x Heavy Diminishing System Power Drain 1x Tractor Beam 1x XL Shield Booster II 1x Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster (800s) 2x Mission Specific Hardeners (EM/Therm for Sanshas) 2x Invulnerability Field II 2x Power Diagnostic Unit II 1x Best named Damage Control (you're willing to afford) 2x WCS (if you're not comfortable) 5x T2 Medium Drones 5x T2 Light Drones
This is what I've been using to run level 4 missions and I've never *knocks on wood* lost a ship. Although to be honest, for the 'Downing the Slavers' missions use a shield boost amp instead of a cap injector (actually a weaker tank TBH but it frees up my cargo so that I don't have to return to pick up loot). The cap injector makes it fool proof though for a mission like this one. (However, the cap injector is necessary for such missions as Angel Extravaganza or Worlds Collide.)

Let's all quit GoonSwarm and go to Empire while we still have some ISK left. |

Edited by: Hex''Caliber on 15/10/2006 12:46:56 I havenÆt done this shield tanking but armour tanking it is incredibly easy. I love getting this mission in my mega; itÆs nice to hear some raven pilots can have problems with it.
I only need a therm hardener and adaptive nano to take care of resistances, 1600mm tungsten plate, and t2 Lar rounds out the tank. On warp in align and start moving away from the towers, target the torp launchers and frigates first. I use my rails for the turrets and set t2 hobs onto the frigates, the stasis towers will not aggro provided you move away and do not target them. I will work my way through the various towers, launching t2 hammers once the frigates are down and set them onto the cruisers. Once I have taken all the towers out I switch my attention to working on the cruisers too, before finishing off the BSÆs and looting. I always leave the stasis towers till last and stick my drones on them while I get on with looting.
The key to doing this without having to warp out is to work quickly and fluidly. Sort out your overview if you havenÆt already, you donÆt need things like loot cans, drones, walls etc filling your overview with needless junk. It only takes a second or two to switch to previously saved settings and it can make a world of difference when you need to work quickly.

Very easy in a raven; 2 nos, 5 cruise T2, torp launcher and in mid SB, SBA, 2 EM an 2 Therm hardners. In low 2 x BCU and 3x PDU. All items named or T2 pref. Good shield and cap skills are damm handy as well.
With this setup you'll able to aggro all. And take out the 2 cruisemissile towers in last stage first. The rest shouldn't be a problem

In dominix I just ignore all the towers, pop bs and the slavers and mission done. Used to kill the cruise towers for comforts sake, whats your tank? _______

I try telling people about this but nobody believes that it would work. Their loss.

Even better, I've completed it several times in a Ishkur and a Enyo. -- Guile can always trump hardware -- |

i can sit there all day in my domi with 1 large armor repper+2em+2therm hardeners. but actually in 2nd part u only have to kill 8 ships. the 2 bs+ 4 cruisers in 1st stage and the 2 slaver cruisers in 2nd stage if u have problems and cant fly other than raven... why not try armor tanking it, 5 low slots are all u need. some cap recs (or injector) in meds, 2 painters and u should be able to go in kill the cruisers and go out. btw i never got scrammed by the berserkers sofar and i did this mission like 50 times

I have gotten scrambled by beserkers once on this one. Fortunatly the typhoon has large drone bay..and 5 light drones cleared the beserkers out fast enough for me to warp out. Now using my typhoon I can do this mission without warp. get agro set light or medium drones on the annoying frigates first..while using guns and cruise on bigger ships..
when all the frigates are done I send the drones out after the missile turrets and pop ships one at a time. I can do this now without warp out..its just figuring out which ships you can kill fastest to remove the damage coming to you.
