It's Sunday evening for most people playing, most will be done with chores and have a full belly and just want to play a bit of EVE. When you pay their subscriptions I am sure then you can tell them what to do

over an hour for 5 jumps is definately not acceptable, possibly a mix of the following: -Sunday -Jita ( sucks power from everything it seems ) -Sunday -Much needed hardware upgrades -Sunday
and last but not least: SUNDAY
I do agree that something needs to be done about it, no question. Why should we all suffer due to it being a day of the week where everyone is at home trying to play EvE?
Simple solution. Take a break from the comp ======================== Entropy Tech. Oipo II - Moon 19 Ishukone Watch Logistics |

lol I dont mean to "tell" anyone how to play their game. They pay for it, they can do what they want. But we ALL know how the server performs on this specific day, so what is the point of starting countless whine threads about it? Suck it up, or leave. simple as that. CCP will fix it when they can, You can be sure they are aware of it and you can also be damn sure they dont particularly LIKE the idea that their server under-performs. Bottom line: posting this crap on the forums achieves nothing, so why do it? ======================== Entropy Tech. Oipo II - Moon 19 Ishukone Watch Logistics |

Actually, it acheives a lot, if no-one were to complain then there would be not an apparent perceived problem by CCP. Experience tells that people do not suck it up and just get fed up and quit their subscriptions if nothing is done.
Pretending there is no problem is counter-productive. However, reasoned sensibly titled posts will always be preferable *hint hint*

Forums are the public voice of this game, of course it is appropriate. Would you prefer censorship? Fact is that people read the forums so do devs and GMs.
Petitions and bug reports are also of course needed and I urge people to use these in *conjunction*.
Posting "waaaambulance" is the thing we dont need. There is nothing remotely constructive about it.

I think the only reason people post issues like this on the forum is because it takes 2 months to *possibly* recieve a response on the issue. People have lost faith in petitions and bug reports.

Edited by: Leianna on 15/10/2006 19:47:47 Ebil, im not disputing that the forums are read by devs, and you are 100% right. They DO get the message across, however, it is NOT the correct method for such things as server instability. Report lag and other such server issues via petitions, and the devs will then in turn, use the forums to keep us all updated.
My point? Forums are used by thousands of us to learn about / debate gameplay, discuss ships and fittings, and general information, etc.. We all know the issues concerning lag currently, so do you honestly feel that all of us posting on the forums is the way CCP would like things to go? Why do you think ISD has to keep deleting these types of posts? CCP has instructed you on how to report issues with the server, and it is not: "please post countless threads about the same thing on the forums so we are sure not to miss it" Please, think about it. ======================== Entropy Tech. What about the new player on trial account who reads the General Discussion forum to see the state of gameplay? If there were no posts about the lag and he was experiencing it... well one could assume he would think it is the server's normal state. How is that useful?
People post out of frustration due to not being able to play the game as intended. Trying to shut off their voices is going to acheive what exactly? The state of the server is awful and has been for a long time now and is getting worse. Obviously petitions and bug reports are not acheiving the desired response, often they are not even replied too. Where do you go after this? Here, where general EVE related issues are discussed.
Oh and my *hint hint* was aimed at the OP's choice of title more than anything else. Which I do not really think is constructive. However I beleive the discussion following it is.

well .. tbh - the OP doesn't let the term "constructive" come to my mind either .. so meh
The OP isn't trying to be constructive. The OP is making a statement
The OP is saying she wants to play at the time *she* chooses and doesn't want to hear techies saying how wonderful a single cluster MMOG is when she can't get on because there are too many players on the cluster and the solution is to apply random traffic control to empty systems because Jita or Renyn are full of players trying to play........
The OP doesn't care about Texas Instruments or load balancing. She wants CCP to make it happen.

It has been so so crap recently. I mean a 0.0 constilation with < 60 people spread over at least 3-5 systems yet it traffic controls every jump.

I beg to differ sunday is the day where time zones dosnt realy exists and EVERY who plays the game logs on at the "same" time.

Most people who play EVE are European, most Europeans I know spend their Sunday daytime visiting family, doing chores and cooking dinner etc. Most people I know spend Sunday evenings watching TV, playing games or just generally chill out before the start of a new week at school, uni or work.
This pattern pretty much tells in most online games, peak numbers will be on Sunday evenings.

It is annoying, yes. Happens in Providence a lot too recently. Keep clicking jump and eventually it jumps, the times and queue numbers it gives aren't correct really.
