Personally when I see someone say something is "the best" I just assume they mean it's the best in their opinion. Because there is no statistical way to state something that is purely based on subjective data can be the best. But hey... if you wanna nitpick go ahead."
Since I do like to nitpick there are objective ways to determine when something is the best. In this case however the reason I say it should be qualified is people state EVE is the best in a defacto manner, which is quite different. You might not be, but many others act like EVE is the best MMO period and it is fact 
Infact it is my opinion that due to the fact you get to choose which MMO you play and the prices are all equitable that subscriber base is a reasonable quantitative measure to suggest which game is the better than the next.... So even though I prefer EVE to WOW it seems clear to me that WOW is indeed msot likely a better MMO than EVE.

I love how threads evolve... however...
Don't get me wrong. I'm not blindly oblivious to the faults in Eve... It's just that I think far too much time is spent denigrating the game based on minor issues that, in the long run, really don't matter all that much in the grand scheme of things.
I made my comparison with other MMO's because it's a reasonable bench-mark, but the people who said that they don't care about other MMO's, and just want their current one (Eve) to work properly, have a good point.
But it's all a matter of perspective... and those who have played a number of other MMOs will see the pattern.
There are people who are understandably irritated because they can't play, or their play is so seriously impacted by game-stopping issues... I can understand these people getting stroppy in the forums and wondering why it is taking so long to get their problems fixed.
What prompted my original post were the posts kicking up a huge fuss about things like modules using too much CPU, or whatever weapon being over/underpowered to the point where "I can't play teh game!!!11"
In every MMO I've played, the forums have been full of things like "Nerf Hollow Weapons" (AC), or "Nerf Scouts" (Shadowbane), or "Dragons R 2 Powerful!" (Horizons) or "Why can't I be a Jedi 2 days into the game?!" (SWG) or "Rouges (gotta love that) R teh Stelth! NERFNERF!"
I suspect (and this is only a suspicion) that if the petition system was used appropriately, and not by people who want a refunded ship as a result of poor play, it wouldn't be taking weeks to get a response.
I guess my several pages of rant can be summed up as: "Let's get a bit of perspective here."
I like a good hearty debate on the forums. It's just dis-heartening to see a list of reasons why the game is apparently appalling, when it quite clearly isn't.
