Edited by: Ching Ling on 17/10/2006 15:43:11 Ok, AFAIK, part of this is a bug. Sometimes in a mission, all rats in the room aggro you though you haven't done anything to cause it.
But are there ways to prevent it? Is it because of my drones? Is it because of my order of engaging the rats?
I fly a Raven with 6x T1 cruise and 2x 150 Rails + 5 Med drones to take care of the frigs.
Can anybody tell me whether what I've said is correct, and share some tips on preventing this.
I did my first lvl 4 mission yesterday, Mordus Headhunters. Was very nervous, not wanting to lose my ship at my first L4 mission. My damage and tank were ok to my surprise, with T2 fittings and basic skills.
What bothered me was the full room aggro. I don't have to warp out otherwise. When I got to the 2nd room I got full room aggro again, and decided it wasn't worth it, as I had to warp back to the 1st room and travel 100k to accelerate to the 2nd room. I cancelled the mission and my standing dropped to the bottom. ---------- EvE Ship Classes now in poster format |

It is because of your drones. When you launch them, expect everything to accro you.

Edited by: Topodo on 17/10/2006 15:58:43 I find it odd hearing about full room agro in L4 Mordus. I heard about it a lot (and experienced it a lot) in the L3 version, but I have yet to suffer it in the L4.
Then again, I don't charge the groups. I target the nearest ship and fly away instead of towards. I haven't had a problem releasing drones in Mordus either. Some L4 missions do cause full room agro with drones, though:
* Worlds Collide room 1 (Serp/Guristas) * Angel Ex stage 1 * Right Hand of Zazzmatazz

TBH it very much depends oon the mission, use www.eveinfo.com and find out what other people wrote about the mission, then decide to accept it or turn it down. You can turn down one mission every four hours and you won't lose any standing at all.
AFAIK Mordus Headhunters is a very tough mission and probably one to turn down until you get a bit more experienced with lvl 4's.
There are a few missions that will draw full aggro if you release your drones, EA and first stage of Angels Extravaganza come instantly to mind. However most don't. Some missions also aggro completely anyway even without drones, Rogue Slave traders(part 2) for instance.
What I tend to do is warp in wait for about 10 seconds and see if anything starts to aggro before I do anything at all. Works well for me

Also considerthatr some NPC's have a proximity agro. I just agroed the Pirate invasion cause i turned right instead of left :/
I think its unauthorised military that agros when your within 71km of one of the groups.
Mordus is consider one of the harder missions. and as with most L4's and other mission Practice makes perfect.
Connections will help with your standing :)
dont give up, next time take a friend or get talked through it. in a couple of weeks you'll look back and laugh at how much easier they become.
this also helps alot Chepe nolans agent pages for the paranoid few.

as stated above... use the information on the missions from eveinfo.com. They show the groups, and the order they should be aggroed. This way you're only pulling aggro from 5-10 instead of like 30

On missions that the whole room agros on warp, I have been using my cloak to avoid it. There is a 5 sec window where you can turn on a cloak right after warping in. I then start moving away from every thing for about 30 sec then decloak. Normally at this point none of the groups will agro and I can set my self up to snipe the room.

Does the beacon not decloak you?

If I get with in 2k of it yes but I have yet to warp in that close. The one thing that has been an issue is dust cloads. Thankfuly missions that warp you into a cload have been ones without the mass agro.

Hi, Drones usually draw attention from anything about 50km from ye. Also bumbbing into structures draws aggro (lvl4 drone thingy).

Bug or not, i enjoy full room aggro tbh. Rather than "kill this spawn, kill that spawn, warp, kill spawn, mish complete", it's kinda fun to see how long i can last against the entire room, and how many ships i can take down before escaping.
Also, the aggro has become more intelligent, especially where Pirate Invasion is concerned. On the angels variant, when the spawn you are currently aggroing is down to two ships left, another spawn will aggro you. This will continue until all mission-critical spawns are destroyed (the one on the far left on warp in does not have to be destroyed for mission success.
I enjoy this system too, as it provides a constant stream of attack, rather than 'kill spawn, regen, kill spawn'. ----------------- One word,, emo,,,

I think movement is also a issue to stage aggros and firing at a group, which does autoaggro at warpin, BEFORE they autoaggroed for example Pirate Invastion L4 Sansha Version: the nearest Group (Elite Frigs, Frigs, Cruisers) usually locks you when warping in. takes about 5-10 seconds until their first frig targetlocks you. If you fire at the group, before you dont have entire aggro of it, the BS/BC group to the very right will also start attacking (it's the group which is "connected" to the mid-bottom BS group. firing it will get you aggroed by the BS group). So i have to wait about 1 minute after warping in to make sure i get full attention of the autoaggro group until i can start firing.
or i just stage aggro everything and deal with it :P the dmg is real low, but i get fps-issues with stage aggro

Thanks for the info. Looks like my problem is proximity aggro, I was in a hurry to get to the next gate :) ---------- EvE Ship Classes now in poster format |
