It seems that this so called "War" was over before it even began. Which makes me sad, because I really wanted to believe that it was possible for an alliance to survive in 0.0 without focusing primarily in PvP. Alas, it seems that PvP must be the primary interest of an alliance in order to thrive in 0.0. And because I am not only horrible at PvP, but will also never be able to compete with older players with more than twice my 7 million sps, this means that I am forever barred from 0.0
C'est la vie...
A couple of points that might be of value to you here.
1. PVP is a big part of the game, but it's the most balanced entity that wins, not the best warriors. Speaking as an EVOL member, there is no real industrialist / pvper split. We all get our hands dirty. Those of us who do choose the indy over the intie aren't treated any differently :P
2. With your amount of SP, you could happily fit into any group out there and play a useful role. Personally, I use a seperate low SP character for frig PVP, because he's completely specialised to the task. You don't need 40mill SP to play in 0.0.
Dude you are so wrong. Beleive me, your SP do not = you. SP just means you get better toys to play with. It's all about tactics and knowledge of the game. Take for instance a fellow corp/alliance mate. He just killed a guy in a cerberus.....with his thorax with the help of a blackbird. The HAC pilot was 2 years old. The 2 corp/alliance guys were 1 year old each. Both his thorax and the BB left the scene and the cerb pilot left via cloning facility. It's all about balls and tactics and using them effectively.
I have been playing this game for less than a year. I just broke the 12 million SP barrier. But did I wait until today to go to 0.0 and do my thing? Hell no. I have been in 0.0 sense my first week of being a pod pilot. I have been killed a lot, but I have killed far more than I have been killed. The thing you need to get rid of in your mind is the idea of loosing ships/mods/pods. It's all part of the learning process. Never get angry you lost a ship, never get worked up that you just lost that prescious faction mod you ratted for hours to get. It's all part of the game.
I love this game to death. I take it seriously in a lot of ways. But I don't take it seriously in the incorrect way like a lot of empire dwellers do. I don't worry about my faction fitted ship or my tech 2 fitted ship when I go into combat. People in empire worry about their prescious things like that. That is what holds you back. I don't know how many times I have lsot my ship and was laughing about it when it happened or afterwards. Not that I like to loose ships, but I ain't afraid of loosing a fight. Everyone looses once in awhile. Don't be afraid of loosing. It's what sets you back in everything you will do.
