I know that there is a system to figure out how much gain you can get from a second item of same type. I know that the second item is not the full value.
I have 1 magnetix Vortex installed and when I installed a second one it did not change the info for my guns at all. So im asking if the second one doesn't work at all or if it is supposed to work then what would the value be?
Those match wizzards, if ya don't mind maybe ya can tell me what my dammage and rof increase will be total with 2 magnetic vortexs installed. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

I am looking for the "nerf-stacking" formula too. Wud be glad if someone posts it.

The 2nd module gets about 2/3 of the listed attributes.

I believe the formula is:
x^(1/n^0.25)

I have tried around a little to figure out how it works. Heres an example:
4 Phased Muon Sensor Dampeners
They give -0.58x to targets targeting range. That means the target will only have 0.42 left of its target range.
We start with one dampener.
0.42 ^ (1 / 1^0.25) = 0.42
You see there is no penalty when equipping only one module. Now we equip another one.
0.42 ^ (1 / 2^0.25) = 0.4822
Starting with the second module of the same kind, the penalty takes effect. This mean, EACH of the two equipped dampeners will only take away 0.5178x (1-0.4822) from the targets targeting range, instead of the original 0.58x. Since both seperate effects have to be multiplied the target will be left with a total targeting range of:
0.4822 * 0.4822 = 0.4822^2 = 0.2328x = ~23%
Okay, now the general idea should be understood. So we just move over to the scenario with 4 dampeners equipped.
0.42 ^ (1 / 4^0.25) = 0.5415
Each of the 4 dampeners has an effective range reduction of 45,8 % (1-0.5415) instead of the original 58%. Multiplied, the total targeting range of the target is:
0.5415 ^ 4 = 0.086 = 8.6%
For a ship with 75km targeting range, the new range is now 6.45km.
Just to compare the result to the formula before the stacking nerf:
0.42 ^ 4 = 0.031 = 3.1% 75km * 0.031 = 2.33km
But what if the loadout of same-kind modules isnt homogenic?
We replace one of the phase muons with a normal sensor dampener (0.5x).
0.42 ^ (1 / 4^0.25) = 0.5415 0.5 ^ (1 / 4^0.25) = 0.6125
0.5415 * 0.5415 * 0.5415 * 0.6125 = 0.5415^3 * 0.6125^1 = 0.0972 = 9.72%
As you see, i simply multiplied the individual effect of each used module (of the same kind) t get the total effect. 3 Phase Muons at 0.5415 and 1 normal dampener at 0.6125.
This will probably work the same way with other modules such as damage mods, shield hardeners, etc.
If those values calculated above arent correct please let me know and i will edit this post to not confuse people.
