I know this may have been said a thousand times, but I have to rant about POS's Firstly if you accidently warp to one, say your frantically trying to escape from some crazy lvl4 mission, the POS warp scrambles you and destroys you, which is a pain. Also there is a trick where people gang warp you to their POS only to again scramble you and destroy our ship and pick up your cargo! You can get away cos the warp scramble is too strong, so either way your screwed. Why has CCP put something like this in, which to me seems more like an exploit, surely you should have some chance of getting away, perhaps have a warning and have so many seconds to get away before they are allowed to attack or scramble you, or make the scrambler less powerful, as no one is going to have that many WCS to get away. Its just so damn annoying when you get stuck and know that all you can do is wait to be blown up.

Don't accept random gang invites and certainly don't allow gang warp unless you trust the person. _______

Anywhere except a moon, obviously. This is survival 101!

Nope - tbh, its much like warping around low sec, and being pirated at a gate. If you warp to a moon, you are taking a risk, much like if you enter low sec, and slow boat to gates.
The way round it? Dont go thru low sec...eg. Dont warp to moons^^

Never warp to a moon you have not recently scanned....and by recently I mean right before you warp to it.
When you accepted the gang invite without knowing the people who ganged you...well sorry you had to learn the hard way why this is a bad idea.
FOr lowsec mission running make a few safes near to easily warpable objects such as planets...keep yourself alligned and if you cant handle the mission spawn use them.

Easy way to solve that. When in a mission, align for a planet, and when you feel you may die, highlight the planet in your 'selected item' window at the top right. Then click warp when you need to run.

Thats fair enough. But i still believe you should have a warning or the time to warp away before you get your ass kicked..

Its also common knowledge that scrambler batteries were set that strong for the sole purpose of catching Ginger Magician.

It's common practice (or so I thought) to never warp directly to moons for this very reason. Also common practice, is lining yourself up for any possible "Emergency Escape Warp" before the scenario calls for it...seems you didn't do either.

It's annoying, but it does stop people scouting/camping POSes unless cloaked. All those hundreds of millions aren't for absolutely nothing, after all. You're best to always warp to a safespot in lowsec.
It's good practice, should save your ass if players bust your mission too (assuming you move on from your safe quickly).

part oft the risk of the game now i guess. in 0.0 before POS's people would warp off to random moons to escape hostiles. now you think twice about that which is a good thing.
recently i had been pirating low sec mission runners and attacking them in their deadspace missions. its hard to do but worth it. on this occassion i had tracked down a pilot (turned out to be talio zomb) doing the lvl 4 worlds collide mission. i warped to the main 2 gates and scanned him to the serpentis gate. i warped into the deadspace to find no players, just a shed load of mission rats surrounding me. after breifly crapping myself i aligned to nearest object and warped out as i was being aggroed. if id stayed there i would have died. the sigh of relief quickly ended when i bounced off a pos bubble and my ravens shield was stripped in one volley (luckily i armour tank) frantically trying to align second volley totalled my ship.
i just laughed at the situation really i guess it served me right. still the whole thing was fun.
(i still cant work out if talio saw me coming or was just lucky).
