As above :- do you even attempt to keep all 4 factions in a safe standing zone or do you not even bother looking? the reason i am asking is from a mission point of view and tags, in order to farm tags your going to loose standing with someone, is it actually worth farming the tags or not?
thanks

I don't really care about standings aside from minmatar and gallente. If I need to haul stuff, I just use my alt. The only things I do in highsec are market trading and some missions anyway.
That being said, the tags are not worth it unless you have an alt salvager trucking behind your main or fly a marauder.

You can farm Tags in Anti-Empire encounter missions and stay above -2.00 standing by working 'The Plan' when needed, especially if you have access to the Epic Arcs.

I have real life friends in all regions of EvE that I like to go fly with so keeping my faction standings at least neutral is critical to my game play style cause I hate getting chased around by the faction navies when I am trying to have a little fun with friends. I know others that simply do not care about faction standings.
You are the only one that can answer your own question because you are the one that has to deal with the consequences of your choices.
The only advice I will give you is this. Keep all of them "in the safe zone" as you call it until you have made up your mind about what you want to do in this game and where you want to do it. |

pretty sure he just means missions that are against empire factions.
personally I gave up on farming tags as looting just gets too cumbersome, even with a marauder and a MTU. And as EA is a 5 mission chain where you need to loot 4/5 missions, it is doubly annoying as there is no break from the looting.
I run Amarr/Caldari/SoE missions and it keeps my standings in decent order. my gallente/minmatar are a bit low, but I don't really care, I could fix them more if I really wanted to. http://eveboard.com/pilot/chainsaw_plankton/standings

Agents in Security Division offer 2 types of encounter (combat) missions :
Missions against Pirate Factions = Anti-Pirate Missions against Empire Factions = Anti-Empire
Doing Anti-Empire encounter missions means you're accepting and completing missions against Empire Factions in order to collect Tags for use in the LP Store.
Those missions will ultimately create negative Faction standings that could eventually incite attack from Empire NPC's when traveling through their section of high security space.
Currently there's 8 different Factions that control solar systems located in high security space, otherwise known as Empire Space.
Empire Factions: Amarr Empire Ammatar Mandate Caldari State Concord Assembly Gallente Federation Khanid Kingdom Minmatar Republic The Interbus
As an explorer, I like the ability to scan and run exploration sites in all areas of space. As such, I decline all Anti-Empire encounter missions when they're offered. Course I also like the ability to access top level Agents no matter where I go. Thanks to working 'The Plan', I was able to build up high Faction standings with almost all Empire Factions.
Hope that answers your question.

I have a GÇ£thingGÇ¥ about not letting the faction standing get too low. My Amarr / Caldari are high, My Gallente has just crept into the positive and my Minmatar is very slightly negative. I donGÇÖt really want to get to -10 or anything like that because I just donGÇÖt want to face the grind of getting them back up should I need to, I hate missioning and the like. |

Yes i feel the same way and have very similar standings to yourself, i don't mind the grind so much its having to move stuff round space, been a solo account this can be very time consuming

DMC Define quickly :D I notice that the plan uses data centres and cosmoss missions to repair your standings, those missions / data centres can only be use once. Quickly - as in much faster then grinding 16 missions just to get 1 storyline mission offer.
Yeah, it uses Data Center and Cosmos Agents, along with Career, Circle and Epic Arc Agents and even mentions Research Agents as well.
Not exactly sure what your point is but that's a lot of Agents per Faction and when you add in Agents belonging to the allied Faction, you've got plenty of opportunities to keep the standings above -5.00 for ease of travel.
With proper planning and hind sight, you can even keep your standings above -2.00 in order to access high level Agents.

I may have come across as disrespectful for the plan, that was not my intention, I apologise for that What I was saying was more of an enquiry really in that is the plan only good for 1 time use, as data and cosmos agents are only available to you once?
The reason I ask that is lets say I was considering FW. and my faction rating gets tanked, I have alreay done 2 factions cosmos missions and a hell of a lot of data centre missions already, with them being a 1 time thing they would not be avail;able to me should my status get low.

What do you mean with "tags"? The only tags I know are those to reset your security status with concord. AFAIK there is no short cut to repair faction standing.
I always keep my faction standings and security status high enough for traveling all of highsec without major hassle.

You have gotten some excellent feedback here from some people who know alot. I would like to offer a trinket.
Pick a corporation for the opposing faction which has agents in your region or nearby. The criteria I use is having a level 4 courier although some people think level 3 security missions are faster, I will not debate that now. Grind up to use that agent.
Once you see your standings with that faction are approaching -2, stop killing them and go run 16 fast missions for them and a storyline. Works a treat.
Case scenario:
I farm Enemies Abound every chance I get (there is a trick to this). When my Gallente standings get low, I go see Mattebaert Vyne < a Gellente agent with Impetus, who is conveniently stationed in The Citadale. I can run 16 (distribution) missions and a storyline in less than an hour. Love them blockade runners.
I have a similar setup for Minmatar.
I do this as many times as needed to shore up standings then get back to farming tags.
Hope this helps.

As for repairing Faction Standings, there is indeed a shortcut. It's called the 'Faction Standing Repair Plan'.

The actual intention of 'The Plan' is to help players repair very bad negative Faction standings. Yes most of the Agents are a one time shot but as I said before, with proper planning various parts of it can be utilized at different times when needed. The Epic Arcs themselves can be redone every 3 months for a substantial Faction standing increase.
Playing the Faction Standings game is like walking a tightrope, it requires your utmost attention to stay balanced.
Now about doing Factional Warfare, players made their choice and know they're going to tank the standings of the opposing Factions. If they've already completed most of the Data Center and Cosmos Agents and choose to continue tanking those Faction standings, they can either live with the consequences of their actions or work the other parts of 'The Plan' to help repair their negative standings. Some might even consider switching to the other side of Factional Warfare.
If all options become exhausted, they'll have to repair standings the old fashioned way, by grinding missions for Storyline offers.
Wish I could be more helpful.

With some carefull planning after reviewing the plan, avoiding every storyline and empire shootout missions, faction warfare ranks, etc, and only doing Epic Arcs I've came to something like this.
Amarr Empire7.78 Gallente Federation6.94 Minmatar Republic6.75 Caldari State6.58 Servant Sisters of EVE4.99
It comes in handy for taxes, other then that not that much of advantage since they removed pretty much all the standings benefit from game (anchoring pos, etc)
Oh yea, and ability to start every L4 agent in game is nice, especially with locators agents.

To be fair with FW, if you get someone else of each faction to run the missions for you. I believe the standings would all be in the positive afterwards. (probably +3-4 each) |

the tight rope bit is very very true, having been an 05 player ive never been KOS to an empire but ive taken sometime and any non-pirate faction is positive to me, despite killing some empires to help people,
DMC as ive done your plan on an alt before that is no longer active, question on the epicarcs, from what im aware of they don't cause a negative with the opposing factions do they? because if not im going to run through all 4 of them soon

Some specific actions will incur small penalty standings hit, but nothing to serious. However I do avoid those actions since I don't wanna damage my standings in any way. Just look for mission guides and check which ones give you standings hit.
Epic Arc Guide - Link to my guide, it's about 90% complete, it's good enough from start to end, it's missing some misc info, but for standings hits it should be relevant enough

When compared to the amount of positive standing gained for completing the arcs, the negative hit is very small.
I usually edit and update the Epic Arc Mission Reports in Eve Survival whenever I run them in order to keep the info current.
I will say the http://eve.qsna.eu site looks pretty good, hopefully it's maintained and updated frequently.
