Jump-in camping is one of the few tricks left to kill people - to force them to fight and this is what pirates do! It¦s all CCPs fault! They made it nearly impossible to play pvp. The whole combat/encounter system in EVE is crap! The game started and was cool but had some faults - now its getting boring and unfair with the ways CCPs does solutions for the faults/bugs. Actually: best way to kill other players: drop 500 mines and 50 drones at a jump-in...wow, really a great tactic-game!
IT`s ALL CCPs FAULT - STOP CRYING - PIRATES ARE ONLY PLAYERS THAT WANT TO HAVE FUN IN COMBAT!
The only solution to make combat fair is gate-to-gate jump and encounter-distance 150k. So every1 can decide if he wants a battle or not. If there is a blockade traders/miners can decide if they want to fight or want to search another way. This will cause EVE to get frontlines and will make combat and even politics very attractive. But the biggest problem EVE has are 20.000 crying players that dont understand that ITS ALL CCPs FAULT!!!

I fear the developers dont realize what problems accour with the actual jump-in system. Since the game started they made it harder to attack other players - now its nearly impossible to kill an advanced player. Killing n00bs is no problem but an advanced player should be able to evade any combat.
Yesterday i camped alone at a gate. Players jumping in approached to 15-18 km to the gate when they warped to it. Nearly impossible to get them. They warp away or use mwd and if i would manage to target a ship, they can still go offline. This is no action, this is boring bull****. So only way is to go to a jumpin, use a fast targeting ship to stop intruders and cause some lag with drones or mines. I dont want this - i want a fair encounter system and the possibility to create blockades like frontlines. With 150k encounter range, it will be the decision of each player if he wants to approach 1 of these "frontlines" or if he wants to go somewhere else. He also can pay to pass or call reeinforcements. Will be a nice game and every1 should be happy with such features of combat/evade combat.

Manually aiming wont solve the jump-in-problem and it causes much more lag, so plz dont write in forum when u are not sure to have a good idea.

1.) i dont have a moa 2.) laggin drones and mines wont help pirates when the intruder jumps to 100 or 200 k distance. They need a lot of time to get there and he will have loaded in this time. 3.) i can use jump-in killing with lag but i dont use this, so stop telling me, i want something for me, i want EVE to have an interesting combat/encounter system and a good chance for carebears to escape, because i cant see the whiner threads any more. It¦s not the pirates fault, it¦s CCPs fault and their way to make it more and more hard to get a combat. Combat is eesential for this game...i wont go on mining if its impossible to use the BS i buy with the money. Deactivate Miner II, activate brain...

The difference is that a blockade is a blockade! N1 can jump through without fight! Evasive players can evade, they also have the time to start a conversation and pay to pass. They can try to break through but will die in an indy. Actually its only a question of lag if u get killed at a jump-in or not. Do u like this? If yes - ok, lets go on pirates...they want jump-in killings...ok, short joke, back to realitiy: every1 should be interested in getting an interesting combat system. When i imagine a space combat then i think first thing is that sensors locate an unknown ship/fleet, the spacecraft commander decides then to leave warp and check this ships/fleet. To be sure what he faces he gets to visual range and sees:"oops 10 scorpions and 40 drones, lets get the hell out of here". Or he decides:"yes, we found a fleet of pirates, lets get reeinforcements to here", or, or, or. Player decides now...and not lag!

@Avon: U think this is the trick? Checking the map? There are a lot of tricks to make the map useless...and: is this the EVE combat? Checking the map...wow...i am not Christopher Columbus, i am not really interested in maps but according to combat i use the map like a sensor...not more.

ITS CCPs FAULT! ITS CCPs FAULT! ITS CCPs FAULT! ITS CCPs FAULT! Instead of fixing the combat/encounter system of this game, they waste time on championchips and fixing minor bugs or tech level II.
- encounter distance chooseable when warping or jumping by pilot (25k-200k distance). Not closer than 25k, because blockades have to be blockades!!! - gate-to-gate-jump - inactive drones disapear instantly or just kick drones from game. - mines kicked out of game. - reduce all NPC ships. They cause a lot of lag too and its better to use 2 police-BS than 1 BS and 6 frigates. Same for NPC-pirates. Better 1 big fat pirate than hordes of small ships.
Thise things would fix the game to a funny playground for pirates, aswell for non-pirates.
