I and perhaps many with me would like to know if the CSM-questions that were mailed to Pann have been answered yet? Pann said she hoped to give the answers late thursday or friday, but at least before the weekend.
Offcourse she has to receive the answers from the DEV's, but could we at least know if we can expect them soon(tm) ?
Pann, could you plz tell us?

Well as there was no csm this week, i would have hoped to have the answers by the time the customer support rep said we would have them, but frankly, just to have the answers full stop would be nice now......

I would really like to see their response.
You would have thought that they would have tried extra hard this time to be on schedule in light of the rising displeasure with their response times overall.
There's something my boss is always saying, a motto of his if you will: "Vi verum a standa okkur" It means that we have to deliver on our promises. Needless to say he runs a very popular company

Edited by: Vegeta on 01/11/2003 18:15:19 Here are my questions, sent in thursday.. still no response.
1.Why is there nothing being done about the megacyte/zydrine shortage? Large corporations like Cornexant Inc. and Techell (or so i hear) are going out of business, the megacyte/zydrine simply costs too much and there is no way for ship makers to profit.
2.Any update on jumpdrives? The skill for them has been in-game since launch but they still havent been introduced to the public.
3.At the moment large hybrid guns are the most useless guns in the game, they have bad tracking and horrible damage. Do you have any intention of fixing this?

Vegeta, THANK YOU for asking about large hybrids!
Right now I'm not a battleship pilot, but since I am gallente and I use drones and I primarily like hybrids, I would like to use a gallente battleship.
I think that L. Hybrids need their tracking vastly improved, and damaged tweaked for all guns. More importantly, each race should have their own "tachyon", since the tachyons are a special class for Amarr, the Gallente and Minmatar should have their own special class (perhaps not a really powerful gun, but something that seems to fit with the race, say a high requirement arty that has a high ROF, I dont know what to suggest for the gallente, but I'm sure someone could think of something fitting)
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

Call it a hunch, but I doubt this one will be anytime soon. Jump Drives will open up the Jovian space, and I don't think thats anywhere near ready yet.

simple answer to the riddle:
scanning the questions they suddenly noticed that none of them had any clue about how to answer them. they noticed too, that, as it s no chat this time, they would need to give real answers, not just jokes and nonsens.
they suddenly realise, that the guy who s got the clue (and the bug-list, btw) went to holidays in june (before he could fix the roids) and hasn t returned so far.
so i don t expect any answers to show up this week or next

Strange, I am still making good profit by selling cruisers, and I buy all my minerals off the market, including Megacyte and Zydrine. When the stuff gets more expensive, I simply raise my prices, as it always has been. Perhaps some people are too spoiled by their 2000% profit margins on certain equipment...
I manufacture only one cruiser type thus far, and about every frigate you will ever need, so I would hardly consider myself a big player in that business. But if I can survive by doing it, how is it that your "large corporations" cannot? For me, this rather sounds like in the real world. Big corporations always whine about how they are at the brink of extinction, so the government (or in this case CCP) will give them even more business advantages.
I can only speak for myself of course. There is no Megacyte shortage. There is a shortage of Megacyte for 5K of course, but that's a different story.

I can answer the megacyte/zydrine question for you. They won't fix it, because there isn't anything to fix, because it isn't broken. High prices just mean demand is greater than supply; this is that wonderful market economy that they promised us, actually getting to work.
If the price were "too high", more people would go and mine the stuff for themselves, the demand would drop, and the price would come down. If that isn't happening, the price is not too high.

I don't see any megacyte or zyd shortage ... it is there, u just need to be willing to travel.
As for my 3 questions, here they are for the record:
1. As shown by the official forum boards there is a growing concern over lack of promised content. There are many features that have been advertised on you box that have yet to be brought into the game. Many of the players tolerated the fact that some of these features didnÆt appear within the first month or two. It is now the end of October and we have yet to see what has been promised to us. Many of us are getting leery of this and are starting to wonder whether or not we will see these features at all anytime soon. What steps do you plan to take in the future that will fix this problem? How are you planning to retain customers when other new MMOGÆs are being released early next year. Surely you must know that you have to introduce new/promised features to keep this game fresh and interesting in order to compete with new titles 2. Upcoming Changes: When is DCM going to be implemented and what knock on effects will we see in refining and the manufacturing of items using the new mineral? Deepcore mining has been promised for quite a while along with the elite frigates which will be used. The current Megacyte short and lack of any way of moving large quantities of minerals around is causing havoc with the markets and is causing quite a few members to lose interest in this aspect of the game. When can we expect this new mining mechanic and what effects do you hope to see after its implementation? Will we get advanced refining techniques using this new mineral to create refined products such as composites etc that would hopefully allow a player based trade market to evolve?
3. Feature Request : Larger Specialised Haulers What i'd like to suggest is a dedicated transport craft, no turrets, a couple of med slots and a couple of low slots. This class should have a base cargo of about 30,000 and have very little CPU and Powergrid but a reasonably large capacitor. It should have almost zero agility and a base speed of about 50. The restraints on this class would mean afk mining wouldnt happen and you shouldnt be able to fit and MWD on it. This would be a pure hauler class, it would probably need protection and should probably rival the size of the Battleships. |

Latta:
Moving large quantities of minerals around:
Every manufactured item is a bunch of minerals compressed into a very small volume. So to transport minerals around, you have someone with PE5 manufacture, say, thachyon cannons (compression ratio: 1000+:1), then you haul them, then at the other end you have someone with refinery efficiency 5 recycle.
There is some loss, yes, but IMO it's worth it especially if you have to move long distances.
Thachs require you to have all the minerals, but there ARE items out there that only require some. Like the lower end guns, or the missiles. Or, my pers fave, crystals, they're so light. |

My questions are these:
1) You have skills available during charactr creation, like Mneumonics, that have not even been implemented. Come one people. It's been 8 months. Why do you mess up the evemail, without being asked to, yet still have not implemented all of the Sciance skills. YES, reverse engeneering would be WONDERFUL.
2) Why is there still no way to free liberated slaves to gain Minmatar faction. When I brought this up in a CSM, I was laughed at and still carry a very bitter feeling for this. The slavery issue was supposed to be such a big part of RPing on EVE, yet you have not yet made any attempt at accomidating playes that want to do RP this. On a similar note, Amarr's could capture and enslave tourists, raising Amarr faction.
3) When is the 'STUCK' problem going to be fixed.
4) When are NPC pirate spawns going to be addressed.
5) When is the answer going to be NOW instead of SOON.
Either free the slaves or we will come and get them.

As far as I have heard they will be doing a big drive for december, odds are they are saving upp stuff so that there will be alot of happy players on the 25th :)
As for the rest of us, well dont hold your breath, stuff will come when they come. I have personally waited since june for the trade skills and last I heard they were going to tie them into agents... sadly I wasnt all that interested in agents but hey, maby its fun to grind 600+ missions for the lev 3 agents... maby...

When will we get our answers?

no answers yet.
i admit they were busy over last weekend with those championships (now let's have some for Gallente, Caldari, Mimitar)
but the answers were promised by last weekend
i agree with some of the other posters, between now and the New Year is: Crunch Time
the in-game channels definatly do not have as many people in them as they used to, back in the summer (kids back to school) |
