My internet provider is working fine, yet for some reason i cannot log on to the eve website. The only way i got onto it now is because i logged onto someone elses wireless in m neighboorhood through my laptop. Every website loads fine, except the eve website...... I have no clue what the problem is, when i type the address in, the msn error appears that says "we cannot find http://www.eve-online.com, blah blah, and below, there is a link that says, did you mean, www.eve-online.com, so i click on that, and still doesn't work( amazing help msn provides), and i am pretty positive it is not my firewall, ive checked restricted site,s eve is not one of em, and so i really have no clue. Chances are, i wont be able to connect to read replys, but who knows...

Ah, isn't that illegal? Also, do you know what a honeypot is? Also called man-in-the-middle account harvesting...

Excuse me? Don't come in here and accuse me of breaking the law, and no i do not know what a "honeyspot" is. It is my neighbor's wireless internet, that i go to school with and am best friends with, i doubt he minds.

I was having that problam for most of the day. It just started working for me a little bit ago. No idea, as like you every other site would work fine. I didn't think of trying a proxy at the time though, you might want to give it a shot.

Logging into someone elses unprotected wireless network is not a crime. Mapping their hard drive then stealing their files, is.

I have exactly the same problem since yesterday. from my home computers I cannot connect to the website. from my server from another location/connection can also not connect to the website, not with IE and not with firefox. I can ping the website from all the locations without any problems. other websites are also no problem.
From my work and from my PDA the connections to the website are working perfectly.

Edited by: Directive on 19/10/2006 10:11:50 I've got the same problem at home, can't connect to eve-online.com. Still (elinks over SSH). I first noticed it last night around 1700 GMT. I can access the forums just fine from here at work.
TQ works just fine, as does pinging.
Edit: here's a traceroute for you, from my home connection:

Have you tried using the ip address instead of the actual web address?
If you are using their isp, there may be issues with their DNS server. Putting in the IP address directly will bypass that.

Considering the wide variety of results over a large geographical area, I'd assume DNS problems. Could be wrong though.
I'd suggest viewing the website via a proxy (to get around the geographical limitations).

Looking forward to see it all working again, altho a bit strange that a faulty router table would deny access from one machine and not another that uses the same IP-range unless that router is happily filtering out certain NIC manufactures...

Striking NEWS In an attempt to stop forum whoring and channel more players to the online servers running eve-online a group of developers have made a secret pact known as "no Whorumage". As a first agenda they have sabotaged one of the router thingies and thus rendered the website holding the forums inaccessible from the Internet. /Striking NEWS[b]

Both www.eve-online.com and myeve.eve-online.com works fine from work, but from home neither Explorer or Firefox is working, explorer said some rubbish and firefox said:
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
Been like that for the whole week, and some corpmates have the same problem, The game works fine, although for a few hours on monday morning there was no connection to the game from work.
I hope i gets fixed, if there was a bad router, you might want to clear the network stack on the servers behind it too, because something is still fubared.

It would appear to be a UK thing, or at least it looks that way. Neither me nor my mate can get to this website from home (both on different ISPs, i'm ADSL eh's cable) and we can't get to it from work either which is a dedicated leased line.
The only way i have been able to get this website to load (as i'm doing now) is by using a proxy server that is outside of the uk (this one is candian), so i'm guessing it's possibly a DNS issue.
