I have noticed this issue with my drones from time to time.
I have an NPC ship targeted, target selected, press F for drones to attack it. And then I see that one of the drones have green message 'Idle' flash in the drone window. And when I hover the mouse cursor over it in the drone window, it will show that the drone is switching targets back and forth between what I set them to do, and some other ship. Therefore, effectively it doesnt do anything, and flying a Gila with only 2 medium drones, that basically halves my DPS.
I can press F several times, but the problem will still persist until the selected ship is destroyed by the other drone.
Has anyone had that problem? Any way to avoid it?

I guess your drones in aggressive mode. Drone was trying to lock a target which is out of range and waiting when this tagret will be in range. Another thing can happen when you deploying drones to space and you give attack command immediately. Some drones will not get order to attack. Just give 2-3 second then give a command.

I had the same sort of thing, one drone would stop attacking and refuse to attack until I dragged it back in and set it loose again.
Cleared cache and I haven't noticed the problem again. |

I've had the same problem, I'm also getting one of drones fixating on one target regardless of agg/pass setting or focus fire setting and ignoring commands to change target.
In a similar vein its sometimes taking upto a minute to recall drones/sentries despite repeated commands to return to drone bay and being close enough to the drones. Really annoying watching T2's getting blown up when they wont respond to commands and the new NPC AI decide your drones are a much tastier target then you are. |
