Welcome to the New Forums!
If you arrived at this post via our recent in-game splash ad, you may have noticed that weGÇÖve departed slightly from our usual style and art direction. We wanted something that would definitely get your attention. Maybe you found it funny. Maybe you found it eye-catching. Maybe you were skeptical, and you wanted to find out if we were joking about finally having a useful search function. MaybeGǪ just, maybeGǪ youGÇÖre thinking that you could make a funnier, crazier or more provocative ad than the eye-punishing collection of rainbow-bright cuteness weGÇÖve put together.
Prove it.
Now, I want to be very clear here: IGÇÖm not putting out this challenge because I doubt the EVE community can create some amazing ads. Quite the opposite. IGÇÖm banking on it and I think youGÇÖre going to like what IGÇÖm about to pitch to you.
At the bottom of this message is a list of topics weGÇÖll be covering over the next few weeks. Pick your favorite topic and create an ad for it. Submit it to me at [email protected] with the subject GÇ£Fan AdsGÇ¥ or anything remotely close to that. Once a week I will bring the submissions to the marketing team and ask them which one I can publish. The selected ad(s) will be published to the front page of EVEGate.
The Rules:
- IMAGE SIZE: 741X257
- IMAGE FORMAT: JPG OR GIF
- NO COPYRIGHTED MATERIALS
- NO INSANELY OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT*
- SUBMIT IMAGE TO [email protected] WITH THE SUBJECT GÇ£FAN ADSGÇ¥

- Alliance Tournament 9
- New Body Mods and Tattoos Feature
IGÇÖll be watching this thread to answer any questions that you have regarding the ads. We'll be adding new topics to that list as time goes on, and I'll also be working on setting up a gallery of some sort to display/archive all the submissions further down the road. Take the reins off and go crazy, guys. Looking forward to your submissions!

Currently players will get to the new eve forums via the old site, so who is going to even see the front page of eve gate? |

The ads will just be on the front page of EVE Gate. First time visitors and anyone not already logged into EVE Gate will see the fan-created ads. Internet spaceships are serious business, but the community itself enjoys all manners of levity and creativity, so we felt EVE Gate was the best place for showcasing community work.
Why only the front page? Well, you'll notice that the majority of EVE Gate and the forums are completely free from ads, banners, marketing, etc. This limits the places we have to display the submitted creations. However, I'm thinking we could use a nice flash skyscraper on the bio page... and there's room for a banner or two on the forums... oooh, interstitials with sound, too! Hmmm...

The topics are pretty much to keep the content at least remotely EVE Online relevant. :) As you can see from the rules, there's a good bit of freedom you have in the message, theme and direction of your ad. |

D A M N the forum change!
I was just about to lay a smackdown on some guy who was implying that any fc would bring an assualt frigate gang to fight in fleet battles.
Can't you just see it? 400 assault frigates orbiting a tech moon dishing out righteous fury.
Or the FC saying "We've been invaded by 70 drakes. Quick everyone ship up to assault frigates and form up at our pos."
Maybe the alliance leader could send out a mail:
Dear Membership
It has come to my attention that some of you don't have assault frigates. You prefer Drakes and Abaddons and Maelstroms. Stop screwing around and buy an assault frigate you useless morons.

Oh and no copyrighted material, does this mean other images/etc that are NOT copyrighted by CCP, or we can't even use your stuff? :(

On the copyright thing, definitely use pirate banners, faction logos, Guristas bunnies, item icons... if it's in game, it's fair game. |

http://www.eveonline.com/ads.asp shows only current promotions, but i like to save old ones for collection

Also for some reason the search function is taking a while for me, I dont believe it is my ISP, seems to hang there longer then it did earlier today.
