The main change pirates are going to see after Kali is even fewr targets in lowsec belts.
Combine the stab nerf which effects ratters and not just pvp combat ships with the increased time in lowsec required by scanning for belts and targes and it becomes even less worthwhile for a ratter to spend time in lowsec.
In 0.0 I will take my chances without stabs, the lower population and higher reward makes it a worthwhile risk. Lowsec want be worth the grief (frankly I thinks lowsec ratting is already fairly pointless but the stab and scanning changes will kill it off completely).

Pirates are often the most ingenious of all EVE players, we tend to come up with new solutions to each problem and so on.
so full of crap, there is hardly anything in this game that is ingenious, and the fact that you think that any of your tactics for preying on the weak or unprepared is somehow ingenious it wholly laughable.
90% of piracy is sodomizing someone who is a moron anyways, your either killing someone who is AFK, distracted, undergeared, or underskilled.
4% of piracy is fighting someone who is fairly evenly matched.
5% is getting owned by someone who is way over your head
the other 1% is realizing that you just podded one of your pirate friends on accident.
none of this is ingenious.

Nonetheless, agreed. I'm seriously considering my subscription as well. Earlier I remarked to a friend: "This might force me to quit Eve and do something worthwhile with my life!"

On sisi i crammed onto a thorax 15k of armor + 3 hardeners + 5 small t2's. Can't wait to try it out if not nerfed. 
I think the dps will be high enough to kill most cruisers, industrials etc. in time. Its going to make camping in it viable.

It's about how much cap you have, not armor. 2x the time under the guns to kill a target = twice as much cap needed. And AFAIK cap is remaining the same.
Kali also allows you to fit rigs to your ships. It has been reported that one rig can increase the cap recharge rate or capacity by 15% with no drawbacks. Fit three of those to your ship and you are good to go.

I think it is only standings, not sec status.

And tbh, the days of pirates packing multiple wcs (yeah, I know none of us do!! .. hmm) will be gone to an extent. So our ranks will be streamlined as the stab monkeys choose a different path.
Personally, I cant see a problem with extra HP, I would have liked one f the other suggestions to havebeen implemented, but heh... we adapt!!
