I rarely post about T.V. shows but the latest BSG is just WOW! The entire fleet fight is basically everything I had ever imagined a space battle to be.

I'll admit... I nearly cried at a couple parts in the episode...
*** SPOILERS ***
The part that got me the most was when the Galactica was engaged by the Basestars, and Adama was saying his final farewells to the crew. The camera angles showing the Galactica on fire, with 3 Basestars firing on it at near point-blank range, with the camera zooming out...
It looked as if it was the end for the Galactica, then out of no where missiles and turret fire starts hitting one of the Basestars, destroying it. The Pegasus set a collision course right towards the center of the Basestar formation, drawing the fire away from Galactica, giving her crew enough time to get the FTL drives online to jump away to safety.
Due to heading for the center of the Cylon Basestar formation, the Pegasus sustains too much damage, and is going down so the crew evacuates on the last remaining Raptors, jumping away shortly before the Pegasus collides with a Basestar, sending debris hurtling towards a nearby Basestar, destroying it as well.
*** END SPOILER ***

*** SPOILERS ***
The part where i knew this ep was going from good to awsome was when Colonel Tye and Chief Tyrol were being pinned down at the gate to the cylon complex. Then outa nowhere Adama FTL's right above them and free falls, lanching his vipers then ftl's back out to orbit. ---------------------------------------------

It was indeed one of the best episodes so far.
 SPOILERS
My favourite part was when galactica was falling through the atmosphere launching its Vipers while it was basically on fire. Then the effect when it jumped right before it hit the ground was awsome.

I have to admit im a bit of a softie with TV and movies and oh god i must have looked pathetic watching BSG, hahaha.
Like the other dude in this thread said, the bit where Adama says his farewells to the crew and then we see Galactica getting pounded, i really thought that was it for the ship, thought it was done for. Then Pegasus comes flying in and wake up my sister by shouting, "GAUN YERSEL LEEE!!!!! GET THEY CYLON BASTARDS!!! YAAAAAAS!!!" I litterally was standing on my chair hahah
And then Pegasus dies
Then in Galactica hanger deck Saul comes aboard (btw i knew he'd do her in, oortog you owe me a beer for that btw) and he sees bill, then when he walks off with everyone yelling "Adama!" you know Saul aint gonna be the same again...
(Lee as XO...?)
Edit: Giaus is amazing in this aswell, i REEEAALLLY wanted him to pull the trigger on Diana (cant remember her number)

When Galactica jumped into the atmosphere to launch the Vipers... I think that was the BEST tactic I've ever seen in a sci-fi show. And the special effects? Oh my god.
Was sad to see the Pegasus go, but damn talk about ending with a bang. 3 baseships and some blasterthron action. Even the music when she was about to ram that baseship, perfect.
Best episode of BSG yet, even edged out the Ressurection Ship episodes.

I can honestly say that is the best TV episode I have ever watched. I have watched 3 times over already and it still takes my breath away. Definitely jacked me up and made me wanna jump into my carrier and open a can of whoop-ass (then reality set in). Aside from the great story, flawless directing and great special effects, the acting in this series has been spectacular. Its no wonder Rolling Stone calls it the best show on TV.
My favorite highlights from the show:
* Saul Tigh killing his wife - I was so moved and her complete confession makes you almost want to forgive her betrayal.
* When one of the Boomer clones walks into Colonial One and says "Two Battle Stars just jumped into orbit, Adama's back". The look on Baltar's face as it changed from despair at his failure to the dread of being rescued was priceless.
* Galactica jumping into the atmosphere to launch the vipers....OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! I must have replayed that like 10 times.
* Pegasus coming to the Galactica's rescue. CCP take note, that is what a capital ship with all guns firing should look like!
* Pegasus making the final sacrifice. It was stirring when Lee said "thank you" before escaping.
* Starbuck finding out the child is not hers, completely heartbreaking.
* The spontaneous cheering for Adama - He lets it go on but looks back at Saul with some measure of guilt on his face. ----

Galactica jumping into the atmosphere, launching Vipers and then jumping out was the single most awesome thing I've seen in a long time. Its pure genius.
Although I was expecting Pegasus to come in, when she did finally arrive, I literally cheered out loud. For one split second I really did think for a moment they would destroy the Galactica and to see Peggy come to the rescue made me all warm and fuzzy inside. A pity she had to die, but what a way to die

Col Tigh (Michael Hogan) what a great actor, such a range of emotions on the guys face. My fav char in the series, poor guys even more fracked over than Starbuck.
Superb combat scenes, atmo drop simply the best ever and a great way for "The Beast" to go down.
I know hope all those BSG doubters online will frak off and leave this great series to run and run. Simply amazing TV.

When you think about it, the "Peggy", as she has been called, going down in such a fashion was the perfect act of redemption for the crimes it committed when it first joined the fleet (stripping down civilian ships instead of protecting them).

To put it bluntly she was the most powerful ship in the fleet, and with her death has a kill record of like 7 bay stars the ship and crew had saved lots of lives despite deserting her own fleet. She was already redeemed I am just wondering what this means for the rest of the serise since well frankly there is no way I could think of them toping themselves now.

Pegasus should¦ve survived, was such a nice ship and while galactica always "ran away", Pegasus stood back and fought.
But that "airdrop" was a really nice tactical call .
Having Tuxford fixing the blasters is like having a blind man teaching you how to drive - just wont work.
