We are happy to announce that the Scylla release has been successfully deployed!
Scylla brings new opportunities that will be added to the opportunities system, as well as a Tech III subsystem rebalance, the download on demand client, and many fixes, changes and quality of life improvements to make the world of New Eden a better place for all.
For further information you can see our new updates website, and for a detailed breakdown of what's in this release, check out the full patch notes here!
There is also important information here with regards to the new Download on Demand client. Be sure to read it before patching!
For issues with the release on PC, post in this thread. For general discussion and feedback regarding Scylla, please use this thread. Please report any issues you experience with Download on Demand here, and for Mac users, there is, as always, a thread on the Macintosh forums for discussion of this release.

Your EVE Launcher is trying to patch to an older EVE Client version (869010) which was on Tranquility. Restarting your EVE Launcher should make it detect the new EVE Client version (871030) which doesn't have those assets in the build, and so it won't try to move them to the shared cache and then redownload them. |

after launcher restart he start Moving files etc. Eve Works now. I have no idea why, but it seems like the launcher failed to update itself and is still using the old version.
Could you try to install the new launcher version from http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_2_871265.exe ?

Logfile: http://pastebin.com/hJ2KGb79 From your log file it looks like your starting the older version of the EVE Launcher repeatedly. I can see this from the version number reported each time it starts being 859950 (in all but one case I think).
This is probably because you've pinned the EVE Launcher to your task bar, which locks the versioned executable and prevents it from updating.
The solution, if my guess is correct, is to run eve.exe directly and not to pin the EVE Launcher executable to the task bar.
Edit: nevermind, reinstall appears to have fixed your problem. |

Yes - when I ran the launcher it crashed as others describe, I tried the manual patch and it starts to run and then pops up the error. I've never come across that error, so the best I can offer is to try it as administrator, if it's not running as administrator already |

If you have set the launcher to download everything, and restarted the launcher after doing so, then you will not be able to log into the game before every resource for the client is downloaded. Hence, if there is lag, we'll have to look for other causes than download on demand.

Have you tried running as administrator? Or checking for running EVE processes? Something is either stopping you from accessing the file (such as permissions) or is keeping a lock on the file (such as a running EVE Client). |

Unless you have another client install that has yet to be patched, then you would have to download everything again.

Thanks No. The EVE Repair Tool will have deleted the now unnecessary .stuff files and audio/video resources in the res folder, because they're not included in the client build data anymore. That was exactly the reason we told people not to use it for patching, and you must now either rely upon download-on-demand to get the assets as required (which is actually great ) or tell the EVE Launcher to download all assets, or download and install the full installer. |

You can find it in the info file used by the EVE Launcher, but it's usually something we give people when all other avenues have failed. If you're resorting to it, it would be good to get a look at your log files before they are lost with the reinstall, since there might be something useful in them. |

They are really short freezes but they happen quite a lot, mostly when jumping between system, undocking where there is more activity and such. Also overall loading times, much longer. I do have download all resources option on in the launcher (game still loading resources which probably causes all the freezes)
Edit: I have been watching the loading circle more closely this time, whenever the circle appears or disappears, that is when the freezes occur, not sure what that's about, but I d rather not have it there. I noticed on the Sisi client after it was changed to download on demand that when i made a session change ingame like jumping a gate or undocking from station that the client halts for 2-3 secs.
I never got around to reporting it and forgot about it until i patched my tq client today and the issue was introduced on tq as well.
Now, when jumping gates its not that big of an issue as you end up cloaked after jumping but undocking from a station leaves your ship in space while the client hangs and takes away the seconds you may need to get away from station before someone targets you.
I cannot find any other posts about this but I know other players have noticed it as well.
o/ Were you able to reproduce this within the last few days or today on Tranquility? There was indeed a short freeze during session changes on Singularity, which was unrelated to Download on Demand. This freeze should have been fixed about 12 days ago and I am no longer able to reproduce it. Hmm....I actually don't seem to be able to reproduce the issue anymore. I definetly noticed it on TQ right after i had patched my client today and an old corpmate of mine also noticed it. Maybe it was just something that needed to be cached for the first time? Ok, I have now experienced it again on 2 toons/clients on tq but its not every time I jump or undock, just sometimes. If you encounter this again, please file a bug report from in-game as soon as you can - the logs included in the bug report may give us some clues.
