You don't have to use a bug to get 6 million, I have 5.6 million and I didn't use no bug. I have all learning skills to level 5; maybe that is why some people have more skill points than you when we started around the same time. I started on day 3 in the US and took learning skills early to higher levels. I also then picked up implants a day or so after they came out.
So no, you can have 5 to 6 million in skill points without utilizing a bug. Unless you have proof, don't bring that into the picture.
If you only have a few million points, then maybe it is because you didn't train your learning skills and/or you didn't purchase implants.

True I have no implants and probably wont for a long while.
All my learning skills are at lvl 4 and I trained this char as a gunner so most of my points went into intelligence/perception/willpower.
I must be doing something really wrong if people are at 6mil+ and didnt cheat.
(btw I take that exploit back.. it just seemed like such a HUGE gap)

10 days after release, almost 4.3 mil.
With better planning I could have reached 5 a long time ago, probably close to 6.

Once upon a time it was...
I've caught up and overtaken many a player including some i know who benefitted from the very short lasting skill bug.
Having full implants helps.. what has helped more is that my attributes balance was skewed toward intel... so having completed (slowly) the requisite combat skills, I could thenc atch up over the int/mem intensive ones.
Over a long time these things balance out and in many cases the large skill points differentials only reflect a 5% difference in many core skills (that being the level 4 to elvel 5 margin).
For that reason other than as an interesting comparison the actual combat difference (or performance differences) between 3.5mil and 6 mill skill points probably isnt very much at all.
Having level 5s in XYZ skills is only a large benfit (atm) where it allows you to step up to something higher of progress onto another skill branch.. without advanced skills that situation isnt really upon us.
The other element is that some skills (many) give no real combat advantage.. take at look at many of the electronics skills... nothing there that gives you an edge... and this is true of many skills... they give no actual "mechanical" advantage of themselves.
an Extra 5% or 20% off CPU requirrements of Sensor Upgrades isnt really here nor there.

6.315m skill points, all implants, all learning skills (but empathy) at lvl 5, started a serie of lvl 5 skill training that will take me 29.5 days, all int/memory dependant (my stats are showing 20/14/14/15/20 fyi) so in one month i should have... ALOT of skill points
seriously tho, about 7.5m skills points in one month... clones are getting expensive 
oh, and i started the 3rd day of retail

started last week of June. Haven't missed a second of training time since i learned you could stop part way through training a skill to train another one and not lose any SP.

I messed up the first 3 weeks (due to not having a clue) and only joined at the end of week 2 retail.
I have 4.8 mill skill points so I don't think anyone can accuse Tank CEO of exploiting (for once ).

I'm up to 5,545,837 skill points. Started on 5-31, currently have all 5 implants and all lv 5 learning skills except empathy, which is lv 4. I have 101 skills.
