So it finally happend to me/us,
Oure hangars got cleared out by one of oure members ( And yes its my own F****ing fault). One thing ,we still have all oure BPS and isk.
I`m want to share the history of this memebr so you can recognize a possible hangar thief in the future.
This memeber came to us about 6 weeks ago (btw were a small corp of about 5 to 6 active players). The char came from another corp. the first 3 to 4 weeks this member was quite active. Altho he/she didn`t actifly participated in mining sessions he/she had an nice refining level we could use.
After a week or 3 the char wasn`t online anymore. only 1 or 2 time for 1 min ( To check the hangars ofcourse). Also got an mail about being very busy with work and that he/she couldn`t play that often.
And here comes the part where i can almost hate myself(and i do now). A week ago or so i revoked her access to oure ship and mineral hangar becourse i got a little supicius. Then got a mail the next day that see wanted to do some mining angain and so i gave it back.
We will overcome this tragedy. only some loot, frigs,cruisers and about 18mil of trit and 5 mil pyerite was lost ( and that sucks).
The char name was
Babyecakes
The char will be delete by now, so theres nothing i can do about it. But if u get offerd to buy 18mil trit and 5 mil pyerite in the Penirgman sys. give me a hint

Sorry to hear it. Since thievery isn't a punishable offense in the eyes of CONCORD, more and more people are stealing from others to make their fortunes.
Hopefully we/CCP can one day figure out a way to punish thieves. At this rate, why not be a thief... there is zero risk.

Hey Nosferathu, I feel your loss our corp was robbed by one of the directors just recently of all the corp isk. Still trying to get it back. Anyway I'm in the area and if you need any refining done give me a shout I'm a high level refiner (lvl 4 refine eff) and I'll refine your stuff for you. Not looking for anything in return, and I'm not after your ore. I hate people that do this.
Oh if you want to get in touch, best to speak to EzTarget II as I play with him more than my main char now.
Also if the Royal Amarr whatever corp would like to STOP shooting at people with a -0.1 sec rating in 0.4 space just because they think they are pirates it would be nice. My alt's a trader/production guy and they decided that I was a pirate because I had a -0.1 rating, which I got from splash damage to another player from a missile!!!!

Ahh yes this is a curse and imo is one of the many things that is destroying the game.
Basically one person is getting rich of the backs of others, and in turn it makes more people quit eve.
As people we wanna invoke trust to other people and build a relationship with your corp members based on friendship and loyalty not by a set of defined rules that makes you a cog in the machine.
This also goes out to the Scammers who exist out there as we got done by one as well, though thanks to a GM we got our things back.

I'm kinda torn with this subject.
If the guy robbed a cruiser filled with stuff and a few frigates, but kept on playing(and running from you guys), then i'd put it in the category of "excellent piratism"...or in similar terms.
If they rob the corporation for all they got, then just delete a character....that's just nasty playing. Ofcourse one could say he committed suicide after providing his starving family with a future but

That is my opinion also, although I would like to see some way of taking vengence upon the perp if they did carry on playing. as for the ones who just delete their character they most likely have no balls anyway so they lose every day of their life. (er, unless they are female then they are ok, so would have to lose something else instead!!  )

It's a trend caused by the boredom EVE currently causes. People don't have anything to do so they just rip off their corp and go **** around with their newfound wealth until that also bores them. Then they quit.

Makes you think we should be psychometric testing our recruits for the "if bored I will screw my mates over for kicks" tendency though Indigo eh?
Whatever happened to ... "i'm bored but you guys are evidently still having fun, here have my stuff" impulse?
For the record to the thread starter, don't feel too silly, I think eventually it will happen to us all.
The Jericho Fraction corp thief cleared out our heavy mods and missile bps before we got suspicious enough ... fortunately our hangers were too diverse and messy for the guy to steal too much before we wised up and slammed his ass with a booting.
I am swiftly coming around to the view that reputation is the only thing of enduring value in Eve.
Whether in corp names, character names, or whatever ... if you have a good rep its worth preserving and will make it increasingly painful to ditch it.
The people I don't trust much anymore are the longterm no-name characters and corps ... because frankly they are the ones with least to lose from their reputation being thrashed.

I personally can't understand how they can get so bored to just want to delete character after ripping someone off. I know if I was ever to tread that path I would have to keep playing, as it would make things a whole lot more interesting.
Maybe on a side note, CCP or even some larger corp should look into ways of harnessing these players and tring to help them get over the boredom somehow.

The reason why boredom triggers such acts as thievery in EVE is because the boredom is lying on a foundation of frustration and anger.
Frustration over just about anything people have their beef with in EVE and anger about the frustration itself.

Surely there is a way of venting the anger in a more constuctive way. This in itself would relieve the frustration. If they are only doing it to pass time then delete the character. Surely they wouldn't mind working for a pirate corp as an assasin with a more focused act. They may die anyway so nothing to lose and time passed for them constructivly.

I think alt chars should be removed from the game. And if possible it should not be possibel with several accounts. But even if its possible with more accounts. atleast each person "alts" would cost real life isk.
The alt problem is what ruins good fights, bountys and now corp, by having alts looting it.

Whoa, maybe you should've thought it through what you would've done in his place if a member starts acting flakey. What did you do that earned you the everlasting zeal of approval and trust?
Your real life problems are yours alone and if you didn't want to share them with your corporation and talk it over then why did you have to share your anger with them? No sympathy there.
You've just created a world of hurt ingame for a temporary shift out of game. As Jade said reputation is all you've got, amnesty is optional.
To round things off I'd like to bring up our little lowlifes name to public knowledge; Tuwile Valdai is a selective corporate thief, yet not a very subtle one. He was last seen in Verge Vendor and is by the activity monitor readout an alt.

If you would like to come over and see us at the Ore sydicate we have set up a counciling station where all your worries and problems can be looked at and analysed in great depth. I fear it maybe too late for you but we are never shy of a challenge.
If all else fails we have a special podding suit which you can use for a small charge.

Funny thing is if you issue comments on possible fixes people hate you, but tell them you got robbed and they love you. Either way, gotta watch for the sleepers until ccp get off their laurals and provide features to monitor and reconfiscate corp property.

ccp wont do that cause its all part of the game. being a pirate or a corp man. its all apart of the game. pluse i didnt set them back to far. the best thing i took besides the ore was the 6 miner 2s. thats all the rest was stuff you can get for killing NPCs. lol

If your life is that buggered up then why the **** were you spending time in an MMORPG?
Although it's to be expected of the player base, seems very few people are capable of admitting things are _their_ fault.

We had it happen to us too...I sympathize Nosferathu.
It doesn't matter how much you steal, it still stays the same. If you have a problem with your corp, take it up with the people in it, instead of stabbing them in the back.

Regardless of what corp you belong to, I personally feel very bad for you. I haven't been part of the EVE universe for very long, but I understand how time consumming it is to aquire anything.
It's a shame that even in a virtual world there are thieves and liars. Human nature I suppose. My humble advice would be to just try and remember that there are good people here too.
I hope you and your corp can bounce back from this set back. Best of luck.
