There is a possible exploit with alts, if you put ur main char and an alt in the same place in space u can log out of ur main char and then get into your alt and see yourself in space! Wtf, is this how pirates collect their own bounty? It used to be that ur other char instantly vanished whenever u logged in, now it does'nt why has CCP changed this?

STFU pirate scum. Another thing i noticed is, the alt char vanishes alot quicker than the main one, the main one actually does'nt time out at all it just sits there.

Treylon its because people like our erstwhile pokomon playing freind here used it to escape combat. They would log out and then log in with another character to avoid being shot back at. So CCP have sorted it out.

so what? pirates can use it to pod their alts and collect bounty. so it's OK for pirates to take advantage of it, but not ok for ppl to use it to log-out and escape a podding? Either way this aspect of the game can be exploited so why give the pirates one more advantage along with the jump-in stuff.
OK so now if CCP is gonna be like that i can go make an alt, go attack everyone in sight and generally be a n00b pest and collect my own bounty.... this makes no since, which impacts the game more, ppl getting richer off their own bounty or the innocent player escaping a podding because he can't warp away?

i dont believe there are innocent people. if they are in a dangerous system and dont warp out if they see someone camping a gate, its their own fault for sitting around. 8 seconds is more than enough time to warp out, unless you are running a slow PC, then its again your own fault and not CCPs.
The only way to prevent people from collecting their own bounties is to not put a high enough bounty on their head where it would be profitable for them to suicide and buy a new clone. I like placing 5k isk bounties on people's heads just to **** them off :P

dude, you could just have a second account or a friend pod you and collect the bounty. it doesnt have to be your alt.

Are you an idiot?
There's nothing stopping a pirate from getting his mate to pod him, then splitting the bounty. No need to do this weirdo alt thing you're talking about.
It's _better_ that you can't make ships vanish instantly by logging in an alt. Think about it.

so alt logging was an exploit of an anti-exploit feature. Loggin out in combat hurts nobody, if the pirates get mad cause no pod kill, who gives a crap. The fact was it was a nice feature in case of CTD in battle or being swarmed by npc cruiser pirates. Besides u pirates loved it too, i know because then u get cornerd did the same thing.
I locked this thread because of it going out of control. Don't flame each other. Don't post on how to exploit. File a bug report/petition on it.
