So in general you can fit 1 rep with ions or 2 reppers with electrons. CPU is VERY tight.

Edited by: Zhull on 24/10/2006 15:32:41 In general it is a decent blasterboat. Deadly at close range but very vulnerable to almost any form of EW. It was never supposed to be better than the Mega anyway.
Drone bay should be at least simmilar to the Megatrhon as it is supposed to be a close range boat.
I also think that the Mega needs a look now. Could use a smaller drone bay and a boost for long range combat.
Edit: The above poster is correct. It is a pity that now that passive tanking is getting a boost we get a boat that has bonus to active tanking.

1. Agree 2. No, SB has stacking penalty. As the above poster said you get a max 204km locking range with 3 SB II
3. Yes, Mega can only fit 1 tracking comp and 2 tracking enhancer and the hipe can fit 2 TC and 1 TC. That partially offsets the tracking bonus in the Mega
4. Yes
5. Yes but you have les power grid so you can't fit a plate.
6. It is almost impossible to fit MWD and 8x425mm you will need a RCU II and you have only 1 low left for tanking stuff
7. Tracking is also a factor on the calculation of wrecking hits. So better tracking -> Better DPS, even against a BS
8. and 9. The limited locking range is a huge problem if you want to use it for fleet battles, so i gess it could be used to snipe in gate camps.
However, i am still concerned about the Megathron. Looks like the Hyperion will be better bellow 204km and that the Rock will be better above 204km (because the Mega will be fithing in fallof).

Yes, it is like no other bonus in any gallente ship but it could be balanced. The + ROF would make blaster cap use very high so it would pretty much force you to passive tank it.
Edit: I mean i don't like the current stats. As other ppl said it does not look better than the current Mega.

That thing will tank like nothing else.
The bonus is 37,5% x 800 / 11,25 = 26,6 hp/s or 1600hp/min
So you get an extra 1600hp per repper per minute. I think it is not enough.

Yes but you have to consider that you only have 6 lows so
Resistances ar going to be like 2 x 70% and 2 x 75% assuming that run a dual repper tank you devote all your lows to tanking (no Mag field stabs) You need lots of caps for weapons MWD is a must and gives you a 25% penalty
If you compare the 35% bonus to a plate, each plate (after the planned boost) will give you 6300 HP. If the bonus adds 1600hp/min you need to repair for almost 4 minutes (2 with dual tank) to compensate for the plate than the Megatrhon can fit due to the extra grid.

I still think that it needs more firepower than the Mega. The Megatrhon can fit bigger guns or NOS and has Drones that will hit you at 60km.
