Hey all im pretty new to the game, and right now im running missions for Amarr Navy. I am in a Arbitrator doing lv 2 missions. I have not tried lv 3 missions yet, but I can do up to a +5 lv 3 mission right now.
The next ship im going to get was going to be the Prophecy. And I can have that with in the day. But the next thing I was looking at was the Apocalypse. I am just missing Amarr Cruser IV and the two battleship skills.
Now I know that I probably shouldnĘt skip the Prophecy, but my situation is a little different (I think).
If I get the Apocalypse, I would be doing lv 3 missions while training up my large gun skills, so at the lv 3 missions I would have med guns on my Apocalypse. I would only be doing missions with this build, and when I could I would equip large guns onto my BS.
I wouldnĘt start doing lv 4 missions until I had all my large gunnery skills and tanking skills up. And basicly really ready to do lv 4 missions. If I train battlecruiser right now, then I would almost have to start training battleship too. Since I can almost completely skip lv 3 missions and go strait to lv 4 because of my standing.
I would like to know all your thoughts on this, like I said im pretty new and I am trying very hard to get to lv 4 missions so that I can start making some really big bucks so I can PvP and loose a ship and not go OH S***!!!!!!

But note that Prophecy costs around 25m, and the Apoc costs closer to 100m. Not to mention insurance, which, if you take, would take that apoc to 120m.
BCs are perfectly good for level 3 missions, though with the prophecy be careful against guristas and perhaps drones. Even with a full tech II set-up some of those missions can be a little hard to tank, and the damage lasers do against guristas is.. well poor.
Depends how much money you have right now really. If you can afford it, you may be able to get away with using the apoc, and as long as you have a decent tank, you can slap on some heavy beams or something and afk through the missions. Otherwise Proph will do fine.

ok, right now I have about 140 mill, so I would be able to buy it insure it. Plus I think with skill wise Im about 4-5 days away so I can easaly have 150-160 mill by the time I can need to buy it.
Say I spend:
100 mill on BS 20 mill on Insurence
That would leave me 20-40 mill to equip with tanks and Medium Lasers. Then later on I can train up my large lasers and equip. I also use some drones here an there.

And you'll find yourself in a 150m isk death-trap.
Bottom line is, if you can barely fly the thing and don't even have the skills for its proper guns, you shouldn't be even THINKING of flying a BS.
Battleships need very good skills to be used effectively (read, not a risk to yourself everytime you hop in it). Where very good = lots of lvl5 skills. ----------------

Train BCs. TBH 140m may get you the ship but your running the risk of losing it. Get into BCs and dont forget the new Harbinger BC which is gonna be awesome (along w the agility fix on all BCs). Dont use a battleship unless you have the proper skills to fly one including the right size guns.
