Since each rig consumes amount of calibration points, and somewhere was stated that T1 ships have 3, T2 ships 2 slots... But how much calibration points each ships have?

Good question. I was on the test server earlier and nowhere that I looked was the number of calibration points mentioned. I asked around and no one else had seen them, I guess they aren't displayed yet.
Of course no one has rigs yet, because no one has the skills and they only seeded the bpos, not the rigs themselves.

uh, why does Amarr have -100? Or was that guy joking?
This means though, that some ships will be able to have lots of rigs, and others can have fewer?

Ugh. Balance FTW
he was joking, and the amount of rigs a ship can equip is fixed like slots, calibration points will only limit you in the combination of high(calibration) cost rigs

I dunno, because T2 has nice stats already?

You dont have to use them. The same way you don't have to use Implants and Booster Pills.
...on the other hand using a banana might be a viable alternative.

Checked on sisi last night, it is 3 for T1, 2 for T2. Someone else confirmed 3 for Cap ships (which are T1 after all).
Yes, this is different from the dev blog.

it makes sense that tech I have more slots than tech II really, tech I ships have lots of room for improvement but Tech II are finely tuned machines.

I really can't see rigs being expensive at all.
From what I've read you get the equipment from destroyed ships.
So if you need the equipment, buy an empty ship, insure it, take it out, blow it up, salvage the equipment, build your rig.
not sure how this will work in practice but a few mil per rig should be within a PvPers grasp.

So this is how you get more cap as an Amarr. Fill your rig slots with cap recharge or cap amount rigs.

No, you really don't. Same way you don't have to use Best Named gear if you only want a cheap throwaway ship.
There is a way around it.....don't fit them to your ship. I doubt they'll be cheap anyway, given that you need to salvage wrecks to obtain the components needed to build them.....I'm certainly not going to be running about getting my salvaging gear running in a hostile system, I'd rather just pop the wreck tbh, to ensure no-one else gets it.

Sounds like a solid CCP plan.
They've got at most 8 rig slots.
I think they might do something like thus: T1 ships - 2 slots, 300 Calibration T2 ships - 3 slots, 400 Calibration
Or: T1 ships - 2 slots T2 ships - 3 slots and then Calibration per ship type (i.e. Battleships might get 400, Battlecruisers 350 etc)
What would be more interesting: Abaddon - 5 slots, 600 Calibration Hyperion - 6 slots, 600 Calibration Typhoon - 3 slots, 600 Calibration Raven - 4 slots, 500 Calibration Ares - 8 slots, 800 Calibration (number of slots and calibration taken very randomly, especially on the Ares, but you get my point, no?) Use rigs to slightly boost the ships that's a bit downtrodden. While ships that are really good, such as Ishtar or Cerberus, get fewer slots and lower Calibration. - What am I listening to? |
