What is conflict?
This fundamental and wide-ranging question has for millennia been the one binding truth to the entirety of human existence, with its all to extensive consequences being felt throughout the Galaxy. Many have termed “conflict” to be an act of aggression, a physical and violent act committed by one being upon another for whatever reason or gain.
The reason why such “conflict” arises is due to a few key catalysts in any given situation. Belief and personal gain have proven since the beginning of time to be the force that drives one man against his kin, for it is in our very nature as individuals to promote the succession of our progeny for the future aeons to come. What does this need to raise us above our peers play in the Civilisation? It is self-evident that roles in class and status that abound throughout the nations of EVE, ranging from diverse corporate hierarchy of the Caldari State, to the glories of the Amarr Theocracy, that man in his many forms has excelled in bringing the dreams of his instinctive drive to fruition.
The Amarr state for thousands of years developed the need to strive for better things into the present day glories of divine worship, with religious holders from each of the great houses vying to become essentially the vessel of Almighty God. It is our faith that binds us all to the intricate placing within Amarr society, and it is within the faith that we must hold close to keep our great nation strong. Without the bindings of faith and the practice of divine worship, what are we? Without the direction of almighty God our righteous path is lost, our way unclear and our foundations weakened. It is in the power of belief that our nation holds its resilience to adversity, and it is in religion that is our final salvation. The lord God has decreed that our path should not only involve ourselves but in those others whose lineage is not of the great cradle of civility that is Athra, the continent on Amarr from which our kin arose. It is not only our duty as Amarrians to ensure that our lives are spent in service within the endless embrace of our lord God’s devotion, but also to raise the less fortunate to embrace the light of our Creator. We are all individuals that is for certain, and we must be patient with those kin have not been fortunate to know the teachings of the Lord, whose will still clings to the childish ways of a life spent in self adulation. Let us be taken advantage in our time of benevolence in our quest to save the souls of others, but let us not fall into the eternal damnation of the purity of hate. We must learn to understand the lesser races who have not achieved the culture that we have been blessed with. Let us shepherd them into salvation.
How shall we lead the heathen races who have no understanding or will to embrace the one true faith? There are those amongst us who would merely call upon those with words and song, whilst there are those who would shepherd in the manner of the conqueror, wielding the sword to save the souls of the heathen through the warning of retribution. Is the method of our choosing to bring the unbelievers to his flock of our choosing, or the will of God? Our nation is divided on matter, through force of will or the sword are our choices, each with their own points of merit, yet flaws that could bring disaster to this great and Divine work. We must indeed ensure that the lesser races put aside childish things in order to better suit them to the world of purity that we offer, but should this be done purely at the end of a weapon?
In my view nay.
We must combine the two methods in order to better utilise the qualities that makes us unique, that make us faithful Amarrian. We must use diplomacy and reason to win the hearts of those who have turned from the light, or have yet to find it at all, whilst using the ways of conquest to restrain those whose confusion in the course of change would put them at a risk to themselves as well to us. We must meet the threats of those who would threaten our divine work indeed with retribution, yet also grow to understand and feel compassion in their backward ways. To those who have harmed us in the past but whose will has turned to remorse we offer shelter, for our Lord God is as merciful as he is powerful. We are here not just as conquerors but as guides, it is not our place to extinguish the life that was to generously given to them by God. Perhaps they are indeed a test to our resolve, and so we must take care with each miracle that the Creator has made and placed within this world.
It is our service to the faith that makes us truly Amarrian, and in the service on those guidance are being enparted to by us shall they begin to understand the wonders of peace and salvation. When all is said and done we are all servants, with each given their task in life for the good of all. Through our sacred task shall we promote ------------------------------------------

Wise words, my brother in arms. Would it be that a piece of your wisdom, through these words, may plant a seed of belief in the hearts of those who lack direction and True faith.
Look to the Emperor, for He is our sheperd. Place your faith in the Lord God, for He is our salvation. Offer your loyalty to the Empire, for it is our Gift. ----------------------------------------------

That has to be the most intelligent I've ever heard an Amarrian say. Well done. Thanks for changing my opinion of Amarrians somewhat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*grins* I'm unsure if I should be flattered or insulted, but... I shall take it as a compliment.

Well spoken, you convey the principle upon which our empire hinges far better than my poor oratory skills ever could.

Oh please. The oppresiveness of the Amarrian is legendary. Surely you can come up with something better then this to celebrate the installation of your latest so called leader. Like true Amarrians you choose him by conflict thus paving the road to Amarr with even more blood. You would call us Minmatar savages but in truth the savage wears the garb of Amarr.
FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Children do not always understand, Minmatar. As such I do not expect you to understand the miracle of our Lord God's design. Perhaps when the years have granted you wisdom shall you understand. ------------------------------------------

There is a typical response from someone who has no real comeback. And another case of Amarr hypocracy... if us Mimatars had tried to choose a leader through combat, you would accuse us of being savages
But I guess we just don't understand... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there is a such thing as too much power, i have yet to discover it. |

Raukorya, within the text that I released stating my reflections I detialed out everything that is required to answer your questions. Perhaps it was too.... adult for you to understand? I would suggest that you bring about a reply with at least SOME originality.

Not even a virtous thread like this is kept free of the Minmatar rabble and their obnoxious outcries of nonsense.
Kallanagh, my brother, I see no need for you to attempt to reason with those who do not see the wisdom in your words. If your benevolent statement fails to affect them, to infuse some belief in the path of peace, then these are bound to be the ones we must strike down to preserve the others. ----------------------------------------------

Um... Not to nit-pick at what is otherwise a well-written piece, but isn't Amarr the continent on Athra from which your kin arose, and not the other way around?

Too adult? Yes, and I suppose that is is very "adult" of you to act like a young, spoiled child who assumes himself to be better than his peers. You remind me of a boy I remember from back in the third grade at Pator Tech School... but I won't bore you with that story.
As for originality, I will respond with originality when I have some kind of originial arguement to respond to, instead of "we are right, and you are too childish to understand"
[ooc] DAMN! I just spent about 45 minutes trying to find a post I remember where one of you Amarrians replied to a post with something about yelling insults because we don't have an arguement.... sigh. I couldn't find it anywhere [/ooc] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there is a such thing as too much power, i have yet to discover it. |
