What set up am I looking at to do them comfortable and what skill lvl's will I need (in general) ? ty

To be comfortable you'll probably want to get in a Caracal IMO.

I've done some level 2s in a Kestrel. Some go well, many don't. They're so easy in a Caracal that I was looking for some challenge, but I wearied of it and now just use my Caracal. The problem with a lot of the missions is you get dumped into a swarm and you can't tank the aggro long enough to do anything but run. That gets tiresome pretty quick.

Level 2 missions are really intended to be ran in Cruisers. While it is possible to run many level 2s in a frigate, that is generally the case for characters with reasonably high amounts of SP. As the others suggested, if you prefer missle boats, you should upgrade to a Caracal for running level 2 missions.

Cool, you'll have fun with the Caracal; it's a neat ship. I recommend fitting assault launchers instead of heavy launchers for level 2 missions. Standard missles are much better for frigates than heavies.

Have to agree here. 5 assaults is the way to go in my opinion. I have tried 3/2 heavy/assault, 2/3 heavy/assault, 1/4 heavy/assault and the full 5 rack assault is the way to go in my opinion. Some missions maybe the 2/3 heavy/assault but I get lazy in level 2s and just leave a full assault load out.
