Press Release 117.04.09 Sortet V - Moon 1 - Federal Navy Assembly Plant
Yesterday, 117.04.08, security personnel of The Elysion and Repracor Industries thwarted an attack on Lasairiona Raske, the chief recruiter for Repracor Industries. At approximately 22:00 EVE Standard time, Dailar Toralen, CEO and founder of Toralen Industries, and an accomplice confronted Ms. Raske in the conference room of The Elysion. Mr. Toralen threatened Ms. Raske with a syringe that he claimed to be filled with a corrosive substance. Once the threat was established, security personnel moved in and quickly neutralized the attackers. Ms. Raske and the involved Elysion and Repracor personnel were unharmed, nor were any of Zenariae's images on exhibition in the room damaged.
During the investigation following the attack, shards of a syringe were recovered from the scene. The markings on the syringe corresponded to the markings found on pre-dosed medical syringes used for administration of vaccines and antibiotics such as Zemnar. A residue analysis of the shards showed traces of hydrochloric acid. The Elysion's security personnel have been briefed on the improvised weapon. Ulaya Valentin, chief of security for The Elysion, has upgraded the security check protocols to verify the contents of medical syringes.
The Elysion would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the safety and comfort of its patrons is the top priority of its staff and hopes that this incident will be viewed as a reinforcement of those goals. Security and safety procedures are always an evolving process, and The Elysion has an on-going commitment to safety and comfort. While the incident did occur in the conference, one of the spaces being used for the art exhibition currently hosted by The Elysion, the exhibition is still open and has not been impacted. If you've not had an opportunity to view Zenariae's photographs, The Elysion invites you to visit; the exhibition is only showing this week.

Moot point I know, but as someone who handles security, on my watch it would have meant the difference between him bouncing or splatting on ejection.

This is most disturbing, I was unaware of these terrible circumstances as I've been absorbed in producing some new work. I do hope Ms Lasa and everyone is okay. This is concerning as Mr Dailar purchased some works and seemed intent on passing himself as an art dealer to me. I'm wondering what his motivations may have actually been. |

I told her what was in it because I had no intention of using it. This incident was in fact self-defense against Lasa Raske. She first locked down the conference room, switching off the video feed and after a few minutes of discussion she threatened me, and I claimed I was armed with my improvised weapon. She responded by drawing a Minmatar blade and threatening to use it. My supposed accomplish was in fact a contact of mine who had come to put on a display of theatrics to help calm the situation down. This was not the case, as when my associate entered Lasa activated the security footage having us circle her with weapons while she was armed, making it look as though we had made the first move. We were then both littered with bullets without even a chance to explain.
My formal apologies have been submitted to Jeniffer Starfall and most of the major staff of Repracor Industries. And as to Zenariae, I hope this do not disturb our dealings with the art I bought.

I'm uncertain where the lack of clarity lies.
Weapons, whether purpose-built or improvised, are not allowed to be brought into The Elysion. Patrons and visitors violating this policy will be dealt with in a manner appropriate to the situation.
Acts of violence, whether or not they are claimed to be in self defense, are also not tolerated inside The Elysion. Visitors violating this policy will be removed from the premises and banned at the discretion of the management.
It bears noting that the incident on 117-04-08 was only the second time The Elysion has found it necessary to enforce these policies. This would indicate that the clear majority of the patrons of The Elysion understand and, by some extension, appreciate these policies.
If there is a further need from clarification, please contact me via EVE mail.

Actually, I find the above rule impossible to enforce. Whilst I often find myself in places where I cannot be armed, there are a number of things I carry that could be an improvised weapon that I cannot easily divest myself of. Some of these things are even, possibly, definable as purpose-built weapons - such as fists, feet and teeth.
Better to say that acts of aggression are simply not permitted and that those perpetrating them will be ejected with whatever force internal security troops deem to be appropriate. Then not quote your security regulations chapter and verse and leave people a little unsure as to the specifics. Keep 'em wondering.
Experience leads me to believe that if you provide hard and fast rules it just leads to rules lawyering.

Mr. Tuulinen,
I am not quoting our secuity regulations, chapter and verse. I'm providing elaboration, as there appears to be uncertainty as to what "no weapons are allowed" means.
Our goal is to provide a safe environment for our patrons. A ban on violence is not sufficient. A person armed with a weapon is inclined to use it. If weapons are allowed, there will be an escalation, and patrons will feel a need to be armed, "just in case." This is not an environment we want to propagate.
We are not asking you to enforce our rules, Mr. Tuulinen, only to follow them. I understand that you are trying to be helpful; however, if you have an actual concern of running afoul of our no weapons policy, please contact me privately.

I will honour our transaction Mr Dailar, the funds will go towards a worthy cause, but I kind of doubt the veracity of your claims in anything, including you being an art dealer. A syringe filled with acid is a rather specific kind of thing to smuggle into an establishment and demonstrates intent on your part to circumvent and deceive and displays a clear disrespect for the patrons of the Elysion who place confidence in the safety of its environment. You will have to arrange your own pickup of the works you purchased however with the establishment owners, as I simply don't trust you. |

I should clarify, it was not a minmatar blade (clearly he needs to do better research on his knives) and it was only drawn after I was threatened by him. Miss Starfall is correct. I established the situation as warranting that kind of reaction. I did not strike him as security was able to intervene before then. He did attempt to throw the syringe at my person, but that was a rather weak attack tactic. |

Perhaps they could have better assessed the situation if Raske had not disabled security cameras. Also, I was the first one to be threatened. Raske purely stated a threat, and I responded by stating I was armed. She responded by drawing. Also, the needle was thrown as I was being littered with bullets.
On a sidenote, I am glad I will still be able to own the art. I have a contact (Cakzad Arcashiri) who wishes to purchase the art for his estate on Eclipticum.

In their assessment of the situation, it was warranted. Repracor Industries personnel are a trusted adjunct to The Elysion's security forces. Ms. Ember wasn't commenting on your intentions but on the utility of your weapon. Which was a weapon in an establishment that bans weapons. In the course of corporate espionage. You've acknowledged both of these points. I'm not exactly sure where you're going from here. Perhaps you'd like to salvage what shreds of your credibility remain and set an appointment with me to discuss anything further?

I recently found out that Misses Raske is the adopted sister of a Holder (I think Raske is a holder to, but as I am not certain I will not include this information).
Mister Toralen recently expressed strong Anti-Holder views in several ways. Perhaps this could be a possible motive, or a secondary motive if Toralen did indeed attempt to insert a spy in Repracor Industries.
For those interested, I am conducting a personal investigation into this incident. Anyone with information or who would like to see what I have on this case, feel free to message me. |

You have been ousted as a fraud, imposter and a liar already. What credibility you had has long since been washed away with that. Your "investigation" seems at this point nothing more than a sad attempt at harassment on behalf of a knob-jockey who got his butt hurt when dealing with grown ups.

Quite the inspector aren't we, publically stating these things without concrete proofs or speaking with the involved parties before hand.
As an aside, I do hope the staff of the Elysion are doing well. Forgive my lack of patronage, but I believe those in the know understand. Of course Madame.
I generally suggest a demand for private arbitration by a panel of unimpeccable arbitrators. I understand that Doctor Sarain now operates a tribunal for voluntary arbitration - whether it is open for those capsuleers outside of the Amarr peoples I do not know and would like to inquire.
If a party defaults or does not voluntarily Honor a judgment (whether a cease and desist permanent injunction or damages award), then damages or contempt sanctions would be extracted forceably through salvage through an Honorable Third-Party retained for that purpose.
If voluntary arbitration and honoring the verdict is not agreed upon, there are, of course, other measures that can be taken to firmly encourage participation. |

You are quite correct, though our legal juridstriction is limited to those subjects of His Royal Majesty the Heir Articio KorAzor, the Tribunal does offer its services as an independent arbitrator among empyreans should they volunteer to submit themselves to our arbitration.
