Hi all.
Privateers corporation is a corp set up to provide all EvE Online members with a way of accessing free and instant war declarations against multiple alliances.
Currently we are limited to 3 declarations against 3 alliances by CCP's rather lame alliance protectionism.
However, in a few weeks Privateers will be creating its very own alliance and will be able to offer much more then 3 simultaneous war declarations.
I am envisioning the possibility of declaring up to 10 simultaneous wars against alliances and creating an experience of total and complete anarchy in empire for those brave enough or stupid enough to join up.
Correctly chosen, this would be a small cost of only 500 to 1 billion isk per week.
I would like to get an idea whether corporations would be interested in joining this alliance on a temporary basis to access some of this content?
If you are a CEO and think that you and your corporation might like a tour of duty please post here and indicate so. Also any comments or ideas or problems that you can see with my idea, I would also be glad to hear about.
The alliance would operate exactly as the corporation does, individual members could join Privateers for a tour or entire corporations could join the alliance for a period of time they decide to access the content.
Thanks The Privateering Life |

Oh also. Perhaps you might think this is in the wrong forum but its not really about alliances as such but rather more about pirating them. The Privateering Life |

The Privateers wardecced Eve University. Since then, they've lost an Absolution, an Armageddon, two Taranis, two Harpies, a Manticore, and a handful of cruisers and frigates.
In return, they've managed to destroy one Sabre, two Stillettos, a Retriever, and assorted frigates, cruisers and industrials.
So thanks for your offer, but no thanks. If I wanted to kill nubs and lose T2 ships, I'd attack ISS.

The point is you can't consider them a corporation or count their kills/losses as corp kill losses, you really just haveto look at the individual :)

Not sure about those losses you mentioned in your previous post, are they factual?. Regardless why would you lose T2 ships to ISS when you refer to them as nubs? Im confused.
On a related note, we did just attack ISS.. again

I peeked! Thats pretty good going for a pushover corp full of newbs.. jk
However the argument derails the thread since as was already mentioned, Privateers is a shell of a corp, that only acts as a place for individual pilots to access the war decs.
So once the alliance is created, the success or failure of a corp will be dependant entirely on the operations of that corp since no alliance rules or organization will exist. The alliance will simply be a shell which you connect to, to access the free war declarations.
Hope that makes sense. The Privateering Life |

From what i understand, privateers is similar to some people war decing alliances. They are just random people randomly killing them, and cannot and should not be put together in a group per say, since they individuals acting on their own accord.
This corp is recruiting.

As an idiot who has joined Privaters I would like to celebrate the upcoming Privateers alliance.
I dont fly in T2 ships btw and have done nearly a billion isk damage (not counting cargos) at the cost of around 90 mill in ships.
I can see from the threads that some of you are looking for a catch. There is none. Ziona really does pay for everything. I chuck a few mill in the pot if i get a run of good kills but this is not in any way mandatory.
Zionas idea will provide your corp with the opportunity to strike back at the bully boy, 0.0 grabbing, T2 BPO hogging, big headed, fat walleted, pack mentality alliance animals. Been thinking about joining privateers corp, but didnt want to leave your own corp? Simply bring your friends with you!
Privateers will not war dec individual corps. Corps in the enemy alliance have 24hrs to leave so you dont worry about suffering guilt at ganking that loan transport packed full of goodies (easily exchangable for isk at your nearest station) as he types frantically in his corp chat:
"helps me i in sobaskei attacked GATE HELP oh NOES ME CARGO!!!"
as both he individualy and his corp had plenty of time to leave.
Also an overlooked bonus to being a privateer is a ZERO PERCENT TAX RATE. When you go ratting or whatever you really notice the extra isk in your pocket.
So have a think , and in a few weeks join the alliance.
If you cant wait join the corp now.
If you dont like the idea then wardec us! Teach us a lesson :)
Privateers, the only corp where the spies come to spy ON us, but stay to gank WITH us (tm)

No wonder you didnt find us, most of us operate in empire and not in 0.0 . We just declared war against the ISS so you can target us anywhere anytime no matter if my CEO will make us a alliance or not. So stay in 0.0 and be relative safe from us or come to empire.

As another one of the Privateers I thought I would reply.
Although a corp we act as individuals. If by any chance you do see us in a gang its pure chance that people were on at the time and in close proximity. There are no organised fleet ops nor any organised command structure. Only a loose federation of players with similar purposes.
Hardly surprising that against any organised foe we will take losses and find it hard to inflict damage. This is the same as in real life with no individual being greater than an organisation. No amount willpower or wishful thinking will make you impervious to organised resistance!!! As Privateers we recognise it is an opportunists lifestyle where odds are stacked against you. For us that's what makes it part of the fun.
With respect to Ivy League, I lost a vexor against them the other day in Jita. I deliberately left the station when I knew there were 5 ships out there waiting for me. Why? For a laugh for a bit of fun and panache to engage with the 'noobs'.
Amazingly the noobs seem to be flying, Battleships, HAC's, interdictors and assault frigates along with an assortment of basic frigates. Typically they have moved in packs whilst dangling morsels out to bite on; only once you bite the rest of the pack warps in. Nothing wrong with this because blob tactics work and its good to teach what works to new people.
Being opportunistic in nature it also means we will find it hard to isolate people in this style of gameplay.
In terms of why do what we do.
It adds another dimension to Eve. You have PVP but you don't need to pass through all the gate camps at 0.0 chokepoints. You have to be aware of your targets amongst a huge number of other pilots where a wrong laser = a visit from concord.
Personally in the time I have been in it I have had a blast. Haven't got rich, in fact have lost about 150million all told, but the game has very much been more alive. Never shot up a hauler since most people use alt's in NPC corps. Have had some amazingly stupid deaths but not stupid when roleplaying the dashing privateer who goes up against all odds.
Overall have had massive fun.
If you want to join this and have a fun game experience then come join us. You might not get rich, you will have a blast.

My corp has war-decced a couple of alliances for fun before. People do it because it's a fun bit of ganking where you only risk what you fly, and not territory, influence, and all sorts of other political things, which though intangible, are a pain to restore. And what you gain is experience for the newbies, and a good nostalgic laugh for the oldies.
I doubt anyone could fairly say that Privateers has performed "poorly" against anyone, any more than you can pick out several dozen solo gankers from the community at random and try to find patterns and inadequacies in their combined kill ratio. As for some industrial alliances having some muscle, well that's to be expected, plenty of competent PVPers would rather be a big fish in a small pond, than an F1-F8 drone for someone with better connections.
I have always seen this type of activity as a personal Empire hunting pass. Nothing more elaborate. If it creates a permanent background environmental risk for alliance players, many would say, so much the better.
And it is an annoying threat for alliances to counter. A blob is easily spotted and can be counter-blobbed, while a couple of pilots are already docking to share their loot by the time some hauler pilot starts yelling in alliance chat.
Would I do it? Hell yeah. Would my corp do it? Maybe not under a Privateer Alliance ticker, but if the idea takes off, I would suggest it next time we take a holiday.
